Gorski expose

2015 Feb

Dr. Gorski posted an article about a "Danielle" having a rare form of breast cancer, HER2-positive, a few years ago on how she walked away from conventional recommened protocol to use alternative.  http://www.sciencebasedmedicine.org/another-cancer-tragedy-in-the-making/

I was quite impressed that Dr. Gorski, showed some genuine concern for Danielle and was compassionate for her and others in her situation.  However, he went on to bash alternative therapies, etc.  Please, read through the blog to get more of an idea.

Anyway, after reading I thought about Danielle and how she was doing, if she survived, how her choice was working out for her, etc. And so did many of the other readers, which he did not reply to them about Danielle's outcome.  So, I clicked on the link he had in his article to  "Danielles Blog" and it went to a blank blog page.  That was kind of suspicious, plus he did not include her last name and thought that was suspicious as well. Maybe she hadn't posted her last name, and he didn't know?

I Googled "Danielle, New Beginning (her blog name) and Cancer" and I found her blog, https://daniellemurray.wordpress.com/about/my-story-an-overview/

I read through. She only talked about conventional protocol; chemotherapy, radiation, her recovery and aswered her readers questions.   Ok, she must have walked away from alternative back to conventional, or maybe using both, right?  I typed in "alternative" into the search she provided and the only thing I could find washer reply to a readers question about alternative: .

" I mentioned how I started taking yoga classes in the beginning and tried eating all organic foods and avoiding sugar, but then proceeded to admit that that didn’t last long and I eventually just wanted that……at which point I paused and tried to think of a snack but the one that came to mind first was a Ho Ho and I didn’t want to say Ho on air.  Ha.  So, after a while of stuttering I said……… “brownie”.  When we went off air later after the interview, Dr. Oz thanked me for calling in and told me to get back on that diet.  I think I goofed on this question obviously.  I mean, I should be encouraging healthy eating right?  I mean, it is the Dr. Oz show, come on Danielle.  But honestly, after 6 rounds of aggressive chemo, all I really wanted to eat was McDonald’s……..and fruit, I did like eating fruit………and salad (anything cold and wet, or juicy and greasy).

Danielle did NOT walk away from conventional protocol to alternative! Dr. Gorski used this to attach alternative for his own benefit and to sway his readers into thinking "another victim of alternative methods".

Here is my comment to him, which I am sure will never make it onto his blog. I noticed another comment I posted the other day regarding another of his "victims of alternative" never made it

Dr. Gorski, I read a blog article you "Another cancer tragedy in the making" about "Danielle" (you did not post her last name, which made me suspicious but thought maybe, she didn't post it either) and her choice to do Alternative Medicine and walking away from her recommended conventional treatment. I was quite impressed with you and actually, felt your compassion for her, for once (I've read many of your articles, at least tried, but I was blinded by your arrogance, hate and vileness).

Anyway, back to Danielle. Her story quite intrigued me and I wanted to know what happened to her, just as many of your readers in your comment section wanted to know. So, I researched. The link you provided to her blog was a dead end. So I Googled her name "Danielle", "New Beginnings", "Cancer" and I found her.  https://daniellemurray.wordpress.com/category/blog-entries/

Happy to say, Danielle is alive and well.

However, your article about her does not match up to her story. From what you said Danielle walked away from conventional therapy to alternative which is not true at all.  She posts, she has always followed the recommended conventional protocol and the only alternative she tried was a temporary change in diet and some yoga.  She does say "  I mentioned how I started taking yoga classes in the beginning and tried eating all organic foods and avoiding sugar, but then proceeded to admit that that didn’t last long and I eventually just wanted that……at which point I paused and tried to think of a snack but the one that came to mind first was a Ho Ho and I didn’t want to say Ho on air.

This concerns me that you would embellish on false hoods connected with a person who is following the conventional recommended protocol, leading your readers astray, only to bash alternative therapies, when it is not true! You as a doctor and scientist should know better. You keep preaching about fact, but what you wrote was not based on fact at all!

I really, really, wanted to see from your point of view and other doctors and scientist like you, dismaying anything that does not fit into your reality.  But I am open minded, and do what I can to educate myself, thinking I may be missing something.

I am very disappointed and dismayed you would use tactics, and Danielle, like this. You have done exactly what you accuse others of doing. You have closed my mind to your point of view, even if it is based on "fact", which in this case is not, simply, because you cannot be trusted. How many more stories have you fabricated to make others, and or alternatives, look bad?

Just to be clear, this is not about Danielle, choosing alternative, conventional, or both, or nothing at all, this is about you!

I am sure my comment won’t even make it onto your website, but it has been said and you are thinking about it
