MEAT

 by Hilarion

"When a fruit is picked or when a vegetable is pulled from the ground, there is, in a sense, a certain resistance 'felt' by the fruit or vegetable. This resistance is a kind of emotion, but is so different from the emotions of Mankind in vibration and strength that the slight contamination which occurs in the astral body of the fruit or vegetable does not noticeably harm The Astral Body of the human being who consumes it. But the astral body of an animal who is killed picks up a very large quantity of negative emotion that acts like a poison to the animal and, of course, to the human who consumes the flesh of that animal. The poison comes from the fear which the animal feels prior to its death."

"Many people think that a cow or a lamb does not know it is being taken to the slaughterhouse and to its death, but this is not so. The animals are extremely precognitive, and they know very well when they are being taken to die. This arouses much fear and desperation within them, and the result is the contamination firstly of their astral bodies and secondly of the Astral Body of any person who eats the flesh of the slain animals."

"After years of consuming large quantities of meat that contains the astral poison, the human body starts to deteriorate. This is due to a prior deterioration and wasting of The Astral Body of that human being. Ultimately, the physical body starts to conform to the infirmities of The Astral Body, and both aging and early death are the result. By 'early death' We mean death at a date earlier than would have occurred in the absence of these poisons."

"If Man is what He eats, then surely the eating of death in the form of flesh must bring death itself closer. That is precisely what takes place."

"The interesting fact, regarding the damage that is gradually done to The Astral Body through the continual eating of meat, is that, if the meat-eating is stopped for a period of 9 months, The Astral Body will be able to restore itself to a near perfect state. Its regenerative powers are remarkable so long as it is not being continually weakened by the consumption of the astral poison generated by the fear that the animal experienced before it was killed."

"We wish to make a point about the question of meat-eating relating to the difference between warm-blooded animals and cold-blooded ones. The significance of warm blood is that it corresponds to a relatively well-developed emotional nature. Thus it is that cows, lambs, and pigs have a more sensitive emotional nature than fish, for example, which are cold-blooded creatures. Indeed, since fish are cold-blooded, their astral bodies are not close in vibration to that of Mankind, and therefore the astral poisons which are generated in the fish's astral are not very damaging to The Astral of Man. There is some contamination, of course, but the degree is considerably less."

"People who consume large quantities of meat are abusing their stomachs by requiring constant secretion of hydrochloric acid in order to allow the appropriate enzymes to break down the protein molecules in the meat. The over-secretion of hydrochloric gradually turns the digestive tract into an acidic environment rather than an alkaline one as it was meant to be, and the excess acid is taken into the physical body through the intestinal wall. This eventually results in yellow patches on the sclera (white of the eye), but these also designate locations in The Aetheric Body which have been weakened by the excessively protein-rich diet of the heavy meat eater. This is one reason why those who eat large quantities of meat should carefully consider whether they should continue to do so."

"There are chemical and aetheric constituents of dead animal carcasses which accumulate within the physical and Aetheric bodies of the human who consumes animal flesh, and these accumulations are very harmful to Man in terms of health. They speed aging and decay of tissues; they slow the brain; and they coat the arteries, veins, lymph passages, and digestive tract. The result is illness, early aging, early loss of vitality, and death at an age sooner than would otherwise have been the case."

"He who eats flesh is eating death. By the time The Tribulation is over, it is expected that consumption of all animal life for food will have ended."

"It is seen from This Level that until Man learns to purify his diet and to stop filling his digestive system with the remains of slaughtered animals, He will never be able to enter The New Age that awaits Him. So long as He puts death inside of Himself, He will not be able to clear it from around Him, and the killing of multitudes of human beings will continue. This is a simple case of man's outer circumstance reflecting his inner state. The eating of flesh causes his inner state to be one of death and putrefaction."

"The Earth Plane is a mirror for one's own inner states. Now, if the world outside is programmed, so to speak, to reflect the inner states of Humanity, is it not clear that as long as Man continues to put death inside Him by eating the cadavers of animals, He will never be able to stop the death and killing that is going on around Him? This Universal Law of Reflection makes it inevitable that the slaughter of animals and the slaughter of human beings will continue together and that the one cannot be stopped unless the other is also stopped."

"Out of all the civilizations in This Galaxy, human societies almost without number, only yours remains defiantly mired in a spiritual mudsink of its own making. Nowhere else in This Galaxy does the ruling species feed upon the cadavers of lesser animals, forgetting that its duty to the lower forms is to treat them with kindness and to exemplify the spiritual advancement that they too will one day attain."

"Gone are the beautiful conversations and interplay which Man had developed with the other Kingdoms of Life on The Earth. Now the animals shun Man as the destroyer. They know He not only murders the beautiful animal life-forms which God made but destroys also the magnificent trees and forests with which The Earth is clothed. They know too that this carnage and destruction is not necessary, that it is merely a habit into which The Race has unthinkingly fallen. But they fear for their own lives and, with the exception of a few domesticated species, they prefer to avoid contact with Man altogether."

"The loss is not man's alone. For the benefits which the animals used to gain from their interaction with Humanity have also ceased, and the progress which that great Kingdom of Life is seeking through incarnating on The Earth has been retarded."

"Those advanced souls who volunteer to live as domesticated pets in the company and care of Man are making an important sacrifice by agreeing to inhabit a species that is naturally carnivorous. The reason why they must come to Man as a carnivore is that Man has chosen to be carnivorous. If the cat and dog were not also carnivorous, the smell of death which clings to every human who consumes dead flesh would drive them away. By themselves partaking of the grisly feast, they deaden their sense of smell to this dreadful odor."

"But the other animals, those that are not carnivorous, smell man's flesh habit plainly. It is largely this recognized smell of the cannibal that causes them to fear Man instinctively. The animals know that Man is a meat-eater and that He kills to satisfy his habit. However, this does not arise at the lower manifestation. What does arise is the instinctive fear and revulsion which the animal feels as a result of the smell of death which he perceives in every human who eats meat."

"Many people do not realize that when one eats the flesh or drinks the blood of any other animal form (including human forms), some aspect of the sacrificed being literally passes into the one doing the eating and can become permanently lodged within The Subtle Fields (Astral and Aetheric) of the individual. The fresher the materials consumed, the greater the amount of animal essence entering the body of the consumer."

"For example, if one were to kill a dog or cat then immediately drink its blood, the emotional nature of the animal (which resides in the blood) would certainly enter the person doing the drinking. If this essence were able to find a compatible organ or system in the body (astral) that it could fasten on to, then it might well remain and become a literal entity that could be exorcised. In many cases, the essence leaves by itself but only after imprinting something of its nature on the actions, emotions, or thoughts of the individual."

"This is one reason why eating the flesh of an animal (even if well cooked) will tend to impress on the individual some of the less desirable characteristics of the animal in question. Naturally, to consume the flesh of a carnivore such as a pig will tend to produce particularly negative influences within the person eating such fare. In fact, over 50% of meat-eaters have accumulated one or more animal entities in their abdomens and would find their health improving markedly if they could remove them."

"When a human being eats a fruit of any kind, the spiritual essence of that fruit is also assimilated into the body along with the physical atoms. However, prior to the digestive change, the human life-form did not possess any organ capable of assimilating this refined essence, and therefore the spiritual value of the fruit could not be taken in."

"The Guides of Humanity perceived clearly that the awakening of the rational faculty would have to be accompanied by a parallel rise in the level of spiritual awareness, for otherwise there was grave danger of a misuse of the new rationality for negative purposes. They therefore arranged for the addition of the colon, so that maximum advantage could be taken of the new fruit gifts."

"To a considerable degree, Man has deprived Himself of the wonderful spiritual elevation that could have been gained from the eating of fruit by fouling the colon with decaying matter from the remains of animals. When Mankind began to eat the cadavers of the great Kingdom that He was given to protect and teach, the gradual loss of this avenue to spiritual perfection began."

"Today there remains a close link between the colon and the degree to which one's spiritual perspectives can broaden. A colon fouled with old compactions of decaying flesh cannot fulfil its proper function. Moreover, it is easily observable that those who indulge heavily in the eating of animal cadavers tend to dislike fruit and eat little of it. The spiritual vibration of the fruit is too high for a body that has been coarsened by the excessive consumption of flesh."

"So connected is the colon with spirituality that those who have fallen very far away from the life of the spirit -- through disbelief or through indulgence in the various excesses that the world makes available -- find themselves very prone to developing cancer of the colon. Indeed, if a person must have part or all of his colon surgically removed, he will find it very hard to open himself in the spiritual sense."

"The rampant increase in cancer of the colon is directly the result of heavy meat-eating, particularly red meat. This connection is known to conventional medical science, and it is a stark comment on the refusal of Humanity to give up its self-indulgences that even this proven correlation has not significantly lowered the eating of animal cadavers."

"We do not hesitate to recommend the practice of colonic irrigation through the taking of water-based enemas on a regular basis. This treatment will work wonders in removing ancient compactions from the colon."

"The Animal Kingdom was never intended as a transformer of energy for mankind's use. The animals themselves (except for the small minority of carnivores) eat The Plant Kingdom and are ministered unto by the trees and plants in the same manner as is Man. When the sun's energy, passing through the intermediary of The Vegetable Kingdom, has become concretized as the flesh and bones of the animal, the process of transformation is supposed to be complete. Man, by consuming the flesh of the animal, forces the process beyond its epitome or zenith and thus begins a retrograde phase in which the energies which are available to Man from meat are more negative, in effect, than they were for the animal. At the level to which the energy has been stepped down by the animal from the plant, it is quite unsuitable to Man, and consumption of meat at this level simply drags man's own vibration down below what it is intended to be."

"Man Himself is a transformer and was intended to serve the other, lesser Kingdoms of Life upon this Planet by stepping down the spiritual energies of which He was aware in order to make them available to the lower Kingdoms, Plant and Animal."

"Man's present spiritual level is currently low enough that He can absorb energy and sustenance from eating the dead bodies of lesser animal life. But in The New Age about to break upon the Planet, man's vibratory condition will be too high for these foods to be appropriate, and human beings will naturally turn from this form of cannibalism."

"We use the latter word deliberately because of the fact that the bonds between The Animal Kingdom and that of Man are far closer than is generally realized, even among seekers who have had special revelations on the subject. If Mankind could but see the question from This Level, He would be aghast at the savagery He is exhibiting by destroying the beautiful life-forms which God placed on this Planet out of love for The Human Race."
