We tell patients that they must be fully immunized by age 2- if they
refuse or if they refuse specific vaccines they must find another
provider. We have them sign a copy of this policy when they enter the
practice.

In spite of this fact we have several patients who try to slip
through- they are always sent on their way. I tell the parents that I
cannot be responsible for letting their child die from a preventable
illness; that if they want that on their conscience that was their
business but they could not expect me to be a party to that.

The entire policy was our senior partner's idea- I would have never
had the guts to do it but am glad that we do it.
