Quotes

[God/Spirit is made of love, hence the saying we are cast in God's image: Love. When you feel Love you are feeling God (God is Love), Love is being possessed by God. The symbol of Love and the Heart is the Rose.  Krishna and Christ represent the spirit of Love. Satori Sananda/the Christ. "WHEN YOUR HEART IS ALIVE, you are always beautiful. Always. Even in the morning."--Don Bradley

"If you want to know the real meaning of pornography, it is the utter dissociation of love and sex, the banishment of love from the sexual arena."---Martin Amis

The way is not in the sky. The way is in the heart. ----Buddha

"The love that you withold is the pain that you carry."---Vissaeus [1994] Alex Collier interview by Rick Keefe

Breastfeeding bonding and baby-carrying bonding are the first events of life which the newborn/infant/child learns about love and non-violence. Love is first learned at the breast of mother and by being carried on her body ~like in utero, where the first lessons of being connected with mother are learned. Baby-carrying is the external umbilical cord that assures that the baby is connected with mother, and breastfeeding bonding for 2.5 years, or longer, has been found to be essential to optimise brain-behavioural development for the prevention of depression and suicide, and makes peaceful, harmonious and egalitarian behaviours later in life possible. Baby-carrying bonding was found to predict with 80% accuracy the peaceful and violent behaviours ("killing, torturing, mutilation of enemy captured in warfare") in 49 tribal cultures distributed throughout the world.[2007] James W Prescott, Ph.D. Why breastfeeding mothers are important

Love: what is love? Well, to spell it out briefly, it is the ability to communicate to others your profound involvement in their welfare, such that you will never commit the supreme treason of letting them down, whenever they most stand in need of you, and that you will minister to and encourage the growth and development of their potentialities. That's love. Ashley Montagu Interview by Michael Mendizza

The trick is: First go on teaching that love is great, so people never think that the priests and the politicians are against love. Go on teaching that love is great, that love is the right thing, and then don't allow any situation where love can happen. Don't allow the opportunity. Don't give any opportunity, and go on teaching that food is great, that eating is a great joy; "Eat as well as you can"—but don't supply anything to eat. Keep people hungry and go on talking about love. So all the priests go on talking about love. Love is praised as highly as anything, just next to God, and denied every possibility of happening. Directly they encourage it; indirectly they cut its roots. This is the masterpiece. The Fundamental Slavery by Osho

"To love a person is to learn the song that is in their heart, and to sing it to them when they have forgotten." - Anonymous

"The most precious possession that ever comes to a man in this world is a woman's heart." - Josiah G. Holland The Fellowship of the Heart

"Someday, after we have mastered the winds, the waves, the tides and gravity, we will harness for God the energies of love and then, for the second time in the history of the world, man will have discovered fire!" ---Pierre Teilhard de Chardin

Just because someone doesn't love you the way you want them to doesn't mean they don't love you with all they have.    ~Unknown

"There's something like a line of gold running through a man's words when he talks to his daughter and gradually, over the years it gets to be long enough for you to pick up and weave into a cloth that feels like love itself."---John Gregory Brown

“The heart has reasons which reason knows nothing of.”--- Blaise Pascal

"The person one loves never really exists, but is a projection focused through the lens of the mind onto whatever screen it fits with least distortion."--Arthur C. Clarke Tales of Ten Worlds

Where there is love there are always miracles--Willa Cather

Only the soul that loves is happy.---Goethe

Having a place to go--is a home.  Having someone to love--is a family.--Donna Hedges

Scott Peck M.D His perspective on love (in The Road Less Travelled) is that love is not a feeling, it is an activity and an investment. He defines love as, "The will to extend one's self for the purpose of nurturing one's own or another's spiritual growth." Love is primarily actions towards nurturing the spiritual growth of another. Love cannot be sustained by mutual dependence; rather, love between two parties is made stronger when they are completely independent of one another.
    Peck seeks to differentiate between love and cathexis. Cathexis is what explains attractions to the opposite sex, the instinct for cuddling pets and pinching babies' cheeks. However, cathexis is not love. All the same, true love cannot begin in isolation, a certain amount of cathexis is necessary to get sufficiently close to be able to truly love.
    Once through the cathexis stage, the work of love begins. It is not a feeling. It consists of what you do for another person. As Peck says in The Road Less Traveled, "Love is as love does." It is about giving the other person what they need to grow. It is about truly knowing and understanding them.--Wiki

Life in abundance comes only through great love. ---Elbert Hubbard

Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength; loving someone deeply gives you courage. ---Lao Tzu

"The most fundamental principle of medicine is love."--Paracelsus (1493-1541) The Great Art of Surgery

There are four questions of value in life... What is sacred? Of what is the spirit made? What is worth living for, and what is worth dying for? The answer to each is the same. Only love.
Don Juan DeMarco

LOVE
There is no difficulty that enough love will not conquer;
No disease that enough love will not heal;
No door that enough love will not open;
No gulf that enough love will not bridge;
No wall that enough love will not throw down;
No sin that enough love will not redeem...
It makes no difference how deeply seated may be the trouble;
How hopeless the outlook;
How muddled the tangle;
How great the mistake;
A sufficient realization of love will dissolve it all...
If only you could love enough you would be the happiest and most powerful being in the world. ----- Emmet Fox

Jewels for the Soul , by Kathryn M. Peters:

The Power of Peace

When I sustain only thoughts of love, I open myself to the
experience of peace beyond measure. My day may be decorated in an
eclectic showcase of people and circumstances that either help to
focus or distract me. Yet, my daily mission is to bring the peace
and compassion of Spirit into every situation I encounter.

I do know this: If you think it is God that kills people and destroys your relationships or punishes you and you blame "Him," you will find yourself in more trouble and your life will not work like it should. That concept does not work. It also doesn't work to think you can "leave God and forget about the whole thing." One day you will be forced to clear up your mind. One day you will be forced to see that you create your own universe with your mind, and even your own death by programming the whole thing. One day you will see that you have been given total free will and that God is the Great Affirmative that always says, "Yes," to your thoughts. When I began to understand this, my relationships started working, and not before. ---- Sondra Ray (Loving Relationships).

Love brings up anything unlike itself.---- Sondra Ray (Loving Relationships).

Love always heals...if you let it.---- Sondra Ray (Loving Relationships).

“Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it.”  Rumi

"I am in love - and, my God, it is the greatest thing that can happen to a man. I tell you, find a woman you can fall in love with. Do it. Let yourself fall in love. If you have not done so already, you are wasting your life." - D. H. Lawrence

"Where love is, no room is too small." - Talmud

"Young love is from the earth, and late love is from heaven." - Turkish Proverb

"The best and most beautiful things in this world cannot be seen or even heard, but must be felt with the heart." - Helen Keller

"The most powerful symptom of love is a tenderness which becomes at times almost insupportable." - Victor Hugo

DIVINE LOVE IS DOING ITS PERFECT work here and now,  Divine love harmonizes, Divine love adjusts, divine love prospers, Divine love foresees everything and richly provides every good thing for this organization now, divine love is now victorious! -- Ponder

Why is there this everlasting craving to be loved? Listen carefully. You want to be loved because you do not love; but the moment you love, it is finished, you are no longer inquiring whether or not somebody loves you. As long as you demand to be loved, there is no love in you; and if you feel no love, you are ugly, brutish, so why should you be loved? Without love you are a dead thing; and when the dead thing asks for love, it is still dead. Whereas, if your heart is full of love, then you never ask to be loved, you never put out your begging bowl for someone to fill it. It is only the empty who ask to be filled, and an empty heart can never be filled by running after gurus or seeking love in a hundred other ways.----J. Krishnamurti Think On These Things

Love drives you mad
from revelation to revelation
through ordeal after ordeal
until humble and broken
you are carried tenderly
into the heart of the rose.

THE TRUTH OF  LOVE

     God’s Love does not die.  I am Love so I cannot die.

     His Love is everything, now and forever.  It always has been the answer to every question, the solution to every problem and the only true response to all negativity and debasement.

    There is nothing it cannot heal and no pain it cannot assuage.

   There is no darkness it cannot dispel and no hard heart that cannot be softened by its tender embrace.

    Love is flowing, offers no resistance and is entirely without defence or need for explanation.  It is therefore supremely powerful in its softness and transcends all through its stillness.

     Love is compassionate, wholly non-judgmental and unreservedly generous.  It is egalitarian, humble, patient and kind.  Love sees no levels and is entirely benevolent.

    Love is essentially detached and flows to all it encounters - it is not ‘our’ love but is channelled through us.  It is not generated by external objects or another person, though beautiful beings may enrich our lives beyond measure. Love does not make anyone special.

     Love exists, therefore, without conditions and shines its radiance endlessly to all life.  It is eternal and unlimited and we are one with that Love in our own natural state of spiritual expansion and bliss.

     Love does not discriminate; it is independent of liking and disliking and all forms of duality.  It sees only that which is like itself.

     Love envelops all in its boundless radiance without judgment and so brings transformation and healing.

    Give up to Love your hatred and your anger, your guilt and shame, your grief and your fear.  They bring about more of the same when they are not surrendered; expressed in acts of destruction, isolation and violence.  Love cannot arise out of the dark but it transforms into light the darkness that is given up to it.

     Love is truly gentle, allowing all things to be exactly as they are, and everything that is good or beautiful comes through Love.

     Let us love each other now without reserve; with shining eyes and open hearts; with forgiveness and joy to know that

                             We are One.
