Welcome to

Gardasil side effects

January 14th
5:45 AM
My 14 year old daughter received the gardasil shot on 8/31/2009. Her side effects are: seizure like activity-shortness of breath-irregular periods-hair loss-headaches-pale/yellowish in color at times-stomachaches-muscle weakness-chest pain-generally feeling unwell-swollen glands- very fatigued and weak ( she sleeps about an average of 15 to 20 hours per day). My daughter loved to cheer and do hip hop dance, swim , snowmobile, dirt bike riding, loved jumping and flipping on trampoline for hours on end and now we have no life for anyone because we have to be with her 24/7 because we are worried where this will lead us and when and if our daughters life will ever be normal again, She cant even have a teenage life because of her last episode that you will read about below we no longer allow her to go any where without one of us, the bathroom door has to stay open, she has to sleep with one of us or her sister, cant go to the movies with boyfriend or friends w/o us tagging along, we are constantly checking on her through out the day to make sure eveything is ok, Where does this end or does it? Does it get worse? Does anyone know? I am afraid for my daughters life, and she is tired of attending dr. appointments because she says that they think she is lying and that there is nothing wrong with her> I told her that hopefully we will find one that will listen and help. If anyone has any information to help us please email me at .She started having seizure like activity at school on 9/9/09. Called Dr. and he stated it was not seizure like activity it was probably her vasovagal syncope. She again had another seizure like activity at school on 9/14/09, school called squad because she was not responding. ER did ekg, bloodwork and ct scan all normal. She was treated and released because we had a eeg set up for the following month. Called Dr. he stated no seizure like activity involved it was fainting due to syncope. We went to ER 9/20/09 for chest pains asked if it had anything to do with Gardasil, ignored again, told she had Costchrodritis, sent home. She had another seizure like activity at school on 9/22/09, I got to witness episode on my own for the first time very scary and definetly seizure like activity with hands clinching, body jerking, eyes rolled back in her head and unresponsive. This went on for over an hour. When we arrived at Childrens ER I again for the 20th time told them that she had the gardasil shot but again they skipped right over and went about their way. She had all the same test ran, EKG,CT scan, bloodwork, all came back normal except that she had a hemoglobin count of 8.0 (borderline of needing a blood transfusion). They did another urine test to see blood was in urine, normal. Checked fecal and normal too, asked about bleeding of gums, normal too. They could not give a reason for the hemoglobin to be that low because she did not have heavy periods and they only lasted a day or two. We were admitted to hospital this time for seizure like activity, had 12 doctors over the course of 4 days, cardiologist, and nuerologist, general medicine and no one could give us a reason for thses events again sent home. She started getting these sores under her under arms that had puss like fluid inside that they say happens in girls, they are very sore and have stuff like mersa that just pours out it is the grosses thing that I have seen, we are going to ER again tomorrow to have one of these absesses removedf/lanced and drained. The fourth one sense the shot. 10/01/09 school called having another seizure like activity, called pediatrician he said to prop her feet well above the head because she was just having a fainting episode after 20 minutes of no response, called ped. back told him she was still in seizure like activity he said to get her straight to NCH(NationwideChildren's Hospital) , Father rode to NCH in squad and when they arived she was still in the seizure like activity, they put them (father/daughter) in ER room and left them, father finally got tired of watching this and pushed Emergency button and told them that they better get in there and do something for her, the ER dr. came in and started hooking up monitors, they found irregular brain waves but says that they thought it was psuedoseizures, but admitted anyways for video EEG. 10/2/09 another seizure on vEEG, said irregular activity but still think psuedo seizures so set appointment with psychologist. so now we have cardiologist for syncope, hematologist for unexplained severe iron deficiency anemia, and a psychologist because these are stress related and brought from the stress, adolesent dr because periods are now coming every 4 or 5 days and heavier than usual. 10/28/09 another seizure on the bus, we took her home to come out on her own like the dr told us to do. taken out of school because way to tired and all the seizures was just to much for us all, I was worried about her health. 12/27/09 another seizure while having a nice night with friends, taken to hospital, oxygen dropped to 80%, treated and released. 1/2/10 had another seizure but a few minutes in she stopped breathing, 911 called, CPR performed and she was brought back after 2 minutes, before seizure started she was complaining of tongue feeling swollen, the whole evening of New Year's Day. When came out of seizure (3 hours later) was crying because she had no feeling in her left side, this lasted for about 10 minutes, she then tells us that before she went down her face felt numb and she couldn't feel it. NCH was called for the hospital to transport her this time because they did not know how to treat her but they refused and told the ER DR. that they would have the nuerologist call us later in the week to make an her an appointment to see them in the next week or two. so we were again treated and released. Here it is the 14th and still no appointment or phone call. I have since called other drs and got her to another nuero dr but she wouldn't listen to what I had to say about Gardasil even with all the paperwork and stories that I printed and took to appointment, wouldn't even look at research that I brought. So again we are starting all over with the testing that she has done in the past.

Anyone who has experienced negative side effects from this shot most likely has "heavy metal poisoning"! Alot of the ingredients in this shot are filled with metals like aluminum and mercury which are EXTREMELY toxic to the body. Thankfully, there are ways to rid these metals from your body and detoxify. I am a 17 year old girl and know first hand how damaging Gardasil can really be. After getting all 3 shots I had began experiencing all kinds of unexplained health problems and felt hopeless like I'm sure all of you do, but once I began detoxifying this crap from my body I slowly began to feel better and better until I was completely back to my normal self! Here is my recovery story.

Last June I had gotten my last shot and was as sick as a dog. I had horrible migraines, excruciating lower stomach pains, crazy irregular menstrual cycles, was losing hair, was always tired, had constant arthritis like pains all over my body, and had occasional episodes of rapid heartbeat and trouble breathing. I was convinced I was dying of some type of cancer or something, but after going to the doctors numerous times and getting tested for everything under the sun I was told I was perfectly healthy. Of course, I knew that I was NOT perfectly healthy and continued to feel worse. I became extremely depressed and was just miserable all the time. One night in August my mom and I had been watching the news and saw a story on gardasil and how it possibly caused dangerous side effects. As soon as I saw that I hopped online and sure enough I found website after website filled with complaints of girls like me who have gotten extremely sick from this shot.

Thank god for my neighbor who is a holistic doctor. She was wonderful and I owe my recovery to her. After my mom and I realized that all of my health problems were most likely caused by the gardasil shot, we marched straight to the doctors who pretty much laughed off our theory and sent us packing. With no one else to turn to my mom had gotten talking to our neighbor who is a holistic doctor. She explained that alot of shots are made up of ingredients that taken in high amounts are extremely toxic and damaging to the body and put me on a heavy metal detox cleanse. At this point I was desperate and willing to try anything. The cleanse consisted of:

- cutting out all dairy, sugar, gluten, and soy from my diet

- alot of vitamin c, b complex, zinc, fiber, and magnesium vitamins.

- a good chlorella supplement (google for more info)

- drinking lots of water and getting as much rest as possible

After 3 months of sticking to this regimen, by December I was almost completely recovered. All of my symptoms had either gone away completely or diminished considerably. Now, its been about a month since I've been off the diet and supplements and I finally feel like my old self. I'm a senior in high school this year and am so relieved that I can now actually enjoy myself and look forward to my future. This detox cleanse may seem pretty intense, but for anyone who has developed side effects as bad as mine or worse this is definitely the way to go! I gaurantee that by sticking to this diet for several months you will notice a huge improvement in your overall health and hopefully eventually be back to your normal self like me!

Also, I definitely reccomend finding a holistic doctor that will help you with your diet along the way. This way you can ensure that your going about this process correctly and ridding as much toxins from your body as possible. Unfortunately as most of us on here have learned, normal doctors seem to have no clue what this shot is doing to us teens so for in this case, holistic doctors and detox regimens seem to be the way to go!

I wish everyone luck and pray that this has helped many people out there battling serious health problems due to the gardasil shot. Stay strong guys, and heres to a much happier and healthier new year!

Much love,

My daughter had Gardasil and started losing her hair, going through menopause, migraines, dehydration, etc. Please join our group at ... to learn more and get support. Another helpful site is ... there are lots of stories and lots of parents trying to get this vaccine pulled. Make certain you file a VAERS report - it's the best way for us to make this vaccine go away. Thanks and God bless you all. BB

My daughter, age 15, received the 3 doses of Gardasil on December 28th, 2009. Within 10 minutes after the injection into her left arm she felt extremely dizzy, her eyes rolled back into her head several times, her head wobbled like a newborn baby who can't support their head, she broke out in a sweat, her legs were like rubberbands and down she went!! Passed out even before reaching the exit door of her pediatricians office! She lay there twitching and shaking with seizure movements and the nurse took her blood pressure which was 92/30!! Nurse said this was very low, and that this is happening to a LOT of their patients that are receiving Gardasil! Tell me why and how this vaccine is considered to be safe and neccessary when it is slowing girls heart rate down so low that they are passing out and not getting enough oxygen to their brain?!?! My daughter is extremely healthy, and active in sports, never fainted or had seizures in her life, came into the office walking on her own two feet and wound up on the floor shaking and twitching with seizures!! I am highly concerned and angry with this topic!! Why isn't this being looked into more and possibly pulled off the market? The doctors office said they do NOT need to report this to the FDA because it's listed as a possibly side effect. BULL!!!!!! How is anyone going to know what's happening with our girls if nothing is being documented and reported! Mom's and daughters out there, please get online and report this yourselves to the website VAERS. This needs to be addressed. It's killing girls! Go onto the internet and research side effects of Gardasil, up to 30 some women have died shortly after receiving this vaccine! The heart is something we should not be messing with, would the drug company Merck & Co. want to have a vaccine injected into their arm that drops them to the floor and have seizures?? And possibly DEATH!!!! My e-mail is

Okay, so I am a 15 year old girl and I have had all three of the shots. The shot burns like they are putting fire directly into your arm for one. I have had two shots in my left arm and one in my right. I had to do this because the first two made my arm muscle sore. Its been months since the first shots and my arm screams at the touch. I talked about it to my doctor but she said that that was normal and it may or may not go away. Great, right? So a few days ago (2 days) i got my last shot. It still hurts to the touch but I was expecting that. Yesterday, (1 day after the shot) I woke up at the unusual hour of four in the morning with the worst stomach ache I have ever had. Thinking it was just a random stomach ache i tried to squeeze my stomach and go back to bed but that didn't work. I realized that it hurt worse when I was on my side and if I was lying on my back it felt better but it didn't go away. I was upset that I had to get up that early on Christmas Eve just because of this. Soon my body took on more and more signs of the flu. These included, extreme nausea, fever, headache, muscle numbness, the same stomach ache, weakness, a lot of dizziness, fatigue and many other things that made me want to heal over and die, no joke. At one point I just broke down and started to cry. It was the worst thing I have ever experienced.

So it is now Christmas morning at 4:40 am and I am up (as I have been for two hours). Not because my little brother came into my room and woke me up at a ridiculous time so he could open presents, which he hasn't yet, but because the stupid shot has made me feel like I'm dying. I wish I would have never gotten it. This stupid shot has me on the internet searching for people that are experiencing this same thing. I have also considered a tapeworm because that is just how bad I feel... If you are wondering if you should get it or not i would definitely say no. It isn't worth it in the long run and my sister says it could cause depression and I am starting to feel that. Stupid, stupid shot. Not worth it.

My healthy, active 15 year-old daughter had her 2nd Gardasil shot on Nov. 7th, 2008. On Jan. 7, 2009 she started having seizures with complete memory loss. Her other symptoms were hair loss, joint pain, severe headaches, stomach pain and insomnia. When she did sleep, she would have seizures for hours. We have taken her to numerous doctors but they have no idea what is wrong with her. She continues to struggle on a day to day basis and is on the 504 Disability Plan at school.

I am 16 years old and i got the two shots of the Gardasil. Since that shot, I have been getting irregular periods, chest pain, lower abdominal pain, back pain and have been feeling really depressed. I have been to the hospital three times from this august till December, with symptoms of the flue, a rash on my face, 102 degree fever, bloody nose, ear infection, and the list goes on. I am happy to know I am not the only one going through these pains and i was worried about my periods because now they are always irregular and i don't know when i get them now... can someone please tell me what i going on with me?

I just took my daughter in Monday for a physical. She had some booster shots updated, and the doctor gave her a gardasil shot without really asking me. I did not know of these stories at the time. It is Friday now, and she has been vomiting since the middle of the night, for six and a half hours now. Has anyone else started with side effects like this that have gotten worse?

Yes, I see now that my daughter probably also has been adversely affected by this vaccine. She had all three shots at the urging of our doctor. Shortly after, she came down with Epstein Barr which has not become chronic fatigue. She had months where she could hardly stay awake long enough to get her homework done. She has gained approx. 25 lbs and as the rest of you have indicated..... she has lost lots of hair. She previously had the most gorgeous thick hair and now it is terribly thin. When she sleeps I notice that she shakes.... kind of like a tremor. She has always been so healthy and after the guardasil vaccinations, she is a totally different child. She is 18 now and struggles with fatigue, weight gain, irregular periods. She was also diagnosed with Poly cystic Ovary syndrome via ultrasound. I want to know.... Has anybody looked into how we can as a group take legal action against Merck???

My otherwise healthy, beautiful and very active 15 yr. old began having the following symptoms/side effects following her one and only Gardasil shot on July 30, 2009: headaches, fatigue, dizzy spells, numbness and tingling in legs and feet, fainting, hyperventilation, apnea, nonepileptic seizures, orthostatic intolerance, pain in legs, temporary paralysis of legs/feet, temporary blindness. She has had a myriad of tests, all of which come back normal. She's been to the ER 5 times and hospitalized once since October. She is currently unable to attend school and participate in her favorite activities. Please report any similar side effects from Gardasil injury to VAERS and Also, if you need more info., there is a fabulous Y. support group.

ive taken all three Vaccine for the Gardasil. Yes I'am losing my hair. I take beyond excellent good care of my hair, its my favorite body part, at 4"11 my hair reaches my bottom. I never dye, over heat, add chemicals, but since this shot my hair is no longer on my head, its in the shower drain. What am i too do? continue to let my hair fall out? its not growing back. Nioxin is expensive and my life is in risk if i don't take the shot.
Something should be done about this.

My daughter received her second gardacil shot in August and has been steadily losing about a handful of hair each day. She has had bloodwork done and her thyroid checks out okay as does her complete blood count so we know she is not anemic. The doctor feels that her hair loss is stress related. There have been many other times in her life that have been stressful and she has never lost hair. I feel the gardacil vaccine plays an important role in her hair loss. I fear that she will become bald and that her hair may not regrow. If anyone has had a similar experience and your hair has grown back, please reply. Thanks. ******

My 16 yr old daughter had her series on Gardasil shots completed in March 09. I don't recall any major side effects right away. In the past three months, she has been throwing up after taking a few bites of food. She drinks a lot of Pepsi and has a lot of stress, so I thought she was developing an ulcer, so I told her to stop drinking pop for awhile to see if that helps. The symptoms have subsided, but now that I am reading this website, I am worried. Before the shots she had headaches or migraines, they run in our family, but I have noticed that she has them more often now. Another thing is her hair is everywhere. I thought she was damaging her hair with the straight iron, but geeze, now I don't know. All these problems might be tied to the Gardasil shot.

I just got my second shot a week ago and have felt like absolute shit ever since! I have horrible migraines, a lot of head pressure, am extremely dizzy, really tired and weak.. basically feel like I have a bad case of the flu that just won't go away. Not to mention the arm I got the shot in this time is still extremely sore. Seeing all of these side effects is scaring me to death! Do they ever go away?? I seriously don't know how much longer I'll be able to function like this, in fact every day I seem to feel worse. I really can't afford to be sick right now.. I have a 6 month old to take care of, work full time, and am trying to get through high school. What a nightmare. My heart goes out to all of you that have experienced life threatening side effects from this shot. I will definitely NOT be going back for the third one!

For any person that got the Gardasil vaccinations and did NOT have any side effects or symptoms, PLEASE go and have a pap test done immediately! We are getting reports of these girls that had no side effects to the vaccine that are now getting cervical lesions and cervical cancer. So if you know of anyone that received Gardasil with NO side effects, PLEASE tell them to get a pap test done immediately!

My 16 yr old daughter was also injured by Gardasil. She had 2 of the 3 injections (Jan 9th and March 9th, 2009). Before Gardasil, she was a happy, healthy and vibrant teenager. Since Gardasil she is sick every day of her life. She has dizziness, overall weakness, numbness and tingling in both legs and left arm, back pain, neck pain, pressure headaches, vision problems, breathing problems, chest pains, racing heartbeats, brain fog, stomach problems, nausea, diarrhea, weight loss, hair loss, jerking all over spells...the list goes on and on.

She was an A/B student but failed her 10th grade year because she was too sick to retain what she was trying to learn (brain fog). She no longer has the energy to go off with her friends. Most days she lays in bed, in pain.

This just doesn't happen to a healthy teenager!! And it just doesn't happen to THOUSANDS of other girls with no connection except they all had the Gardasil vaccine.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure this one out.

Please educate yourself as much as you can before you allow anyone to push this unproven and unsafe vaccine on your daughter! The guilt is overwhelming from a mothers' standpoint! I thought I was doing something to protect my daughter. Instead, I allowed the doctor to inject poison into my child and take away her life!

These 'side effects' are NOT rare! They are happening every day to literally hundreds of thousands of young girls after receiving Gardasil. The numbers in VAERS is estimated to only be between 1-10% of the true numbers! Try asking some of us moms who have to deal with these horrible side effects every day if we consider it to be RARE!

Everyone should look at the other side of the fence and research this. There are thousands of girls that are coming down with strange illnesses, paralysis, gran mal seizures, etc. after receiving Gardasil.

We are now getting reports of girls as young as age 9 that are breaking out with genital warts and severe cases of cervical cancer AFTER receiving Gardasil. Some of these girls/women did not initially have any side effects from the vaccine.

There are perfectly healthy girls all of a sudden come down with all of these strange sicknesses (some that I cant even pronounce) after getting jabbed with Gardasil. All within hours/days/weeks?

Just like Merck's 'wonderful' Vioxx...what will it take? How many dead/injured before someone takes notice?

The doctor that literally pushed this vaccine on us at a routine doctor visit told us that there were no side effects except for soreness or redness at injection site.

She also told us that it would protect her from a whole LIST of things! I had seen the commercials but had not researched it.

As a matter of fact, I never really THOUGHT about vaccines until my daughter suddenly started having all of these strange health issues.

She was ALWAYS a healthy child, happy and outgoing, active and just a joy to be around.

Now, she is a totally different child. She is always sick..always in pain..and cries a LOT, so scared that she will die in her sleep from the breathing problems. She describes it as breathing through a blanket or that an elephant is sitting on her chest.

She has SO many of the exact same symptoms as all of the other girls that have been injured.

It is NOT a coincidence! All of these Gardasil girls have the same symptoms, some worse than others, but the bottom line is the one thing they all have in common is Gardasil.

These symptoms are NOT in their heads!

My daughter started having dizziness, overall weakness, pain and numbness in both legs and left arm BEFORE we found out about any of these other girls having the same issues.

When I called her doctor that gave her the vaccine (as soon as she started with these symptoms) she said it was NOT the Gardasil vaccine that is causing it. How could she be so sure? This is such a NEW vaccine...a DANGEROUS and UNNECESSARY vaccine!

HPV is not an STD (research this!).

Cervical cancers have gone down 70% since the PAP smear came along.

This is NOT an epidemic! Why are they mandating this vaccine for as young as 9 year old girls for a vaccine that doesnt even do what they claim it will do?

Girls are now coming down with cervical lesions and HPV AFTER receiving Gardasil! I'm talking about healthy young girls that did NOT have these things BEFORE getting Gardasil.

Young girls dropping dead within hours of getting the vaccine and they think we are all stupid enough to believe it was a huge tumor that was in her heart and had spread to her lungs? (I'm speaking of the 14 yr old that just recently died after receiving Cervarix).

If that young and healthy and active young girl really DID have this so called huge tumor, she would have had symptoms. A tumor like that doesnt just up and kill it's host without a 'wasting away and painful period'.

That is a complete cover-up!

Just like the young girl that has been paralyzed and hospitalized for the last year, Ashleigh Cave. Because her mother was trying to speak out and find out what exactly happened to her daughter, they have now placed that child under protective orders! To shut the mother up?

This is all about $$$$$ at the expense of our young daughters (and now sons) health and lives!

It is an outrage!!!

Please see my posts at ******

And this website:

There, you can see other girls' stories and their pictures..there is also a memorial document with pictures and stories of young girls that have died after receiving Gardasil.

Educate Before You Vaccinate!!

I have had electrical feelings in my body since the first day of the first shot.
The first one was a shooting of electricity almost like I stuck my finger in an outlet. I was vacuuming the floor and I threw the vacuum out of my hand it was so intense. I thought that was weird since the handle is all plastic. Then I got another one brushing my teeth and they just kept happening. Now I have electric tingly sensations on the tops of my hands, in the bottoms of my feet, in the crease of my arms and down my forearms, and behind my knee and on the backs of my legs. It sometimes feels like a bug is crawling on me. I slapp it realizing nothing is there. Also have the sensation of an itch that I can't seem to find. I have these sensations all the time.. my face itches and my head itches.

My daughter just turned 19 years old yesterday. She is a Christian and has kept herself pure and plans to until marriage. She attends a Christian University. She had her last gardisil shot in May. Since this shot she has been complaining of severe fatigue, dizziness and has had no menstrual cycle. My first thoughts were concerns that this was caused by the gardisil shot. She just saw a doctor at her University last week. All the test run were negative and the doctor wants to further test for osteoporosis and place her on birth control pills to regulate her periods. She does not want this. The doctor did not perform a pap smere due to her being a virgin.I have contacted our local doctor and was informed that there was no way to tell if any of her symptoms could be side affects of the gardisil shots she received. My husband decided to investigate the side affects of gardisil and came upon this web-site. I am just wandering if this should be legally investigated and how could someone find out if there are legal ratifications for this problem. I am just praying that these are temporary symptoms and my daughter will recover and be able to have a children after marriage. Please pray with me and I will for each of you as well.

a 14 year old British school girl died on Monday after a vaccination, not of
Gardasil but of Cervarix, it's me-too competition.
now that these drug companies have seen how lucrative it is to scare parents into inoculating their children, they'll all come out with their version of the vaccine, which means there will be more commercials and a harder sell as they compete for business.

just opt out, people

My daughter has periods of not being able to eat. She feels as if she can't swallow the food. She has terrible time breathing. She had to go to the doctor three times in one week because she couldn't breath. Within an hour of her last visit she had her first Grand Mal Siezure. After her last shot she had another seizure within the week.

She continues to complain that she just wants to feel better. Other symptoms include no energy, lethargy, rash, vertigo, aggression, irritability.

My doctor pretty much forced this thing on me and made me feel like i would be stupid not to get it. I had found out I was pregnant about 2 weeks prior which is why I had reservations about getting this shot but my doctor assured me that it would not effect my baby in any way. Almost approximately a week later I miscarried. Coincidence or not?

My daughter is now 20 years old. she received her 1st gardasil shot in 3/08 and the second in 8/08. She didn't get the last one and will not be getting it. From the day she got the first shot we should have known something. She nearly fainted immediately after both shots and complained of weakness and flu like symptoms. Started feeling poorly in the days and weeks to come. It was the end of her senior year the doctor tested her for mono. and it was negative but she had an extremely heavy schedule at high school. He chalked it up to the stress of that. Between the two shots she started having numbness and pains in her hands, elbows and arms. She continued to feel poorly and terribly irritable in the upcoming months. We saw a orthopedic doctor for her pains in her arms. He referred us to a neurologist. She was beginning her first year of pharmacy school and we put off the neurologist because she didn't have much time until spring break. During her 1st year of school after her 2nd shot. Her personality changed completely. Became insecure, moody, very anxious , constantly complaining of flu symptoms, bladder infections and had a hard time urinating. When my daughter returned home from her first year away at college I knew immediately that she had changed. She had been a very bright, intelligent, independent daughter and came home the daughter from hell. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. She was miserable, disliked pretty much everything. I had been talking with the doctor and friends over the course of the year and they all said that she was in a very stressful field (pharmacy) and college life takes some time to adjust. Then just a few weeks home from college she was complaining of dizziness, light headedness, headaches and saying she was having an episode. I thought maybe low blood sugars.....until I witnessed one. She was having Myoclonic seizures. She could feel them coming on but couldn't move or react. By the time I witness one of them she hadn't slept in 3 days. She was diagnosed within a week seeing a neurologist and having 50 to 60 a day. It took 4-5 weeks to get them under control in and out of the hospital . She has been on many seizure medicines it seemed like if it worked to stop the seizures she had crazy side effects. She was diagnosed with Juvenile myoclonic epilepsy. No one in our family has ever had seizures. I asked about the shot right away everyone said no and it was dropped. Since last July 08 we have been trying to help our daughter get her life back and it has been the worst year of our lives. She was unable to return to pharmacy school. The first fall 08 she was completely disabled. It looked as if she had had a stroke. They were saying it was the meds or maybe she had a breakdown of some kind. I am learning that it was side effects of this horrible shot. This is why I am posting this lengthy message because I wanted to let other people know that you and your daughter are not crazy!! We just started 2 weeks ago investigating the possibility of the gardisil shot being the reason for this madness. We have learned many things and are very sure that it was the shot that change our daughter.. I was contacted by a friend of a friend about a similar girl having the same pains in her arms and the focal seizures. I am learning more and more everyday about similar situations.. If this information can help one person it was well worth the time to jot it down. I will be praying for all of your families out there dealing with side effects from this vaccination.. I will let you know what we hear when we visit the neurologist at the end of the month. Any comments or information that may help us help our daughter can be sent to ******

My 13 year old daughter was injured by Gardasil and completely disabled for the past year. Merck got it right when they used the slogan "One Less" for Gardasil. Because of Gardasil, my daughter was "One Less". She was "One Less Student", "One Less Active Child", "One Less in every aspect of her life". Take it from a mother who has spent the past year sitting by my child's bedside wondering if she would die in her sleep. INVESTIGATE BEFORE YOU VACCINATE. DO NOT trust your doctor to make this decision. If you want to understand Merck's role in the medical community, investigate some of their former wonderdrugs such as VIOXX and then marvel at how many people died from it before it was pulled off the market. The CDC AND FDA need to do their job and get this off the market before more children are harmed. The public is not aware of VAERS and the #'s are grossly understated. I have had to tell my child's doctors about VAERS and make them file reports or she would not be one of the current statistics in VAERS. Even then, her information has not been entered correctly so I know that VAERS is not what it should be. Please do not let this happen to your child.

My daughter had Gardasil and has been detoxing ... she's doing better but still is on the mend. Please see the posting under Gardasil questions at medications dot com. Hope this is helpful.

Also - please ask your doctor for a PKD test and a NAD test (it will test anemia and niacin deficiency).

My daughter is 21 and full of life, active, and athletic. Since her second Gardasil shot this past June 2009 she has passed out 9 times. The doctors call in neurocardiogenic syncope. It is where the brain and the heart are not communicating. They say they don't know why this happens and what kind of a life style change have you made. Hummm well got the shots, but no one has put two and two together wonder why? I just hope that this nightmare stops soon before it poisons more girls like mine. LOUISE366

I received my gardasil shots almost a year ago. my mother insisted that i have them, in the past couple months i have experienced painful urination and irregular periods, i have also developed asthma. I have been to the doctors about the painful urination, the first time i went, they said, your fine go home. the second time the pain was unbearable and i went back to them, they said ummm it might be a yeast infection or a urinary tract infection, so take these pills, i took the pills, nothing changed. the third time i went back they said oh your fine, go home...still no change so i went back again and they give me meds for a bladder infection. i am now done with the meds for my "bladder infection" and i still feel pain. other woman have reported feeling painful urination and suddenly having asthma. i am scared....i am so scared, i have plans for myself. i never wanted this. and to all you woman out there now experiencing pain....i feel for all of you. because now i have a serious case of asthma, cant even walk up the stairs with out getting dizzy and feeling like i'm gonna pass out, and i cant go pee with out crying because the burning.

I am 21 years old and had my third shot last December. Since then I have been suffering from dizzy spells, bad anxiety and irregular periods. I am not completely sure that all these are because of my shot, but i really wish i had never had that last dose. My anxiety has been absolutely horrible, and lasts for days or weeks on end. My last few periods lasted for several weeks, and there seems to be no other explanation for the way i have been feeling since the end of last year. My friend works at a local hospital in cancer cell research, and amongst some of the papers she has read she has told me over 1000 girls have appeared with psychotic symptoms for no apparent reason, all after having gardasil. I hope we can all do something about this and get the word out, because i know it is affecting so many people in such a horrible way.

My daughter had her 2nd shot in August, 2008, she started having problems November 10, 2008.Since then, she passes out at least 5 to 6 times a month, she has Bradycardia, arythmias, vagal vasal syncope, and Heart Block. She has been in and out of hospitals. The only answer to fix this is a Pace Maker. Shes 18 years old, cannot drive, go onto college (at this time). She could not even go to her graduation ceremony because she was passed out in the bathroom and wouldn't wake up. I cannot find one doctor to connect this to Gardasil, I wonder why it cannot be traced back to the shot. I would love to voice my opinion to the public about her experience since this shot. Out of all the doctors that see her, not a single one can explain why this is happening to her heart, they say she is a difficult but interesting case.

I am so grateful to have found this site and to everyone who has posted. My 20-yr-old daughter received her first dose in Feb. 09. About a week later she began feeling extremely fatigued and weak. She was diagnosed with mono even though the mono test came back negative. She recovered from the fatigue and weakness prior to the 2nd shot in late April/early May. Soon after that she began complaining of hair loss. She was diagnosed with alopecia areata and our doctor put her on a different oral birth control pill. Her hair loss has continued, she has a fairly large bald spot on the back of her head just below the crown and her hair is very thin all over, especially just above her forehead. She will NOT be having the 3rd shot. She is starting to get some regrowth just above her forehead, regrowth on the bald spot on the back of her head is much slower. The hardest part is not knowing if or when her hair will regrow. I had not considered Gardisil as a potential cause for this until after I watched the ABC News story on Aug. 18, 09. I hope that all of you girls and young women will fully recover from your symptoms, and thanks to all who have posted here. Sincerely, B. C, Tualatin, OR

My 9 year old daughter got her first shot in Dec. 2008 and her second in Feb. and the last in June. We have have been to the doctor a lot of times due to headaches with the doctor's opinion being that it's "allergies". She is now on allergy shots with still no relief from the headaches. I listened to her pediatrician and got her the shots. I feel so bad now after reading all the problems others are having with this vaccine. She also has had a change in her attitude aggression, moodiness, cries often, and she says she's depressed. If anybody has any suggestions for us please let me know. I love my little girl and know I'm worried.

Warning: I do not know if this is related at all (or if there is anyway to know for sure). I accidentally saw a connection looking up conspiracy theories, and I can't seem to find any "real" information about it at all.

My daughter at 14 years of age had this shot. She didn't feel good after, but I thought "normal" vaccination reaction and haven't thought about it since. Feeling a bit faint, a fever, and such.

However, last September (a few months later) she was diagnosed with autoimmune hemolytic anemia. It started with her heart racing, she looked pale (and sometimes even yellowish), tired all the time, her urine turned a dark color, and fainting. Not knowing anything about this I assumed that she was dehydrated, and had her drink lots of water. Until she started fainting, at which time I took her straight to our family doctor. (Another reason that I wasn't to worried is she actually had been to many doctors who didn't seem to think this was abnormal.)

She started on high doses of prednisone to keep her immune system depressed, and has now moved on to mercaptopurine (as the steroids made her suicidal.)

I plan on bringing this "possible" connection up to her hematologist and I will report back (she has an appointment on the 11th.). However, I think it is better to do a little scare here, and possibly help someone rather than take for granted that I am not sure... (So take this information with a grain of salt.)

Also note that this was sudden onset, they can find no cause, and we have no family history nor any of the other typical reasons (sometimes can be "medicine" induced.) 10 months later she is still testing positive on her combs test though.

I received my 1st gardasil 2 weeks ago. Right after receiving it, i felt very dizzy. I layed in the hospital for 30 minutes before i felt any better. The next day my right elbow started hurting, a couple days later my left elbow. My chest started hurting and it felt very heavy to breathe. My heart beats very rapid at times and makes me feel light headed. My arms feel tingly/numb at times, so i called my doctor yesterday to report this, she said these symptoms had nothing to do with gardasil and i needed to see my primary care physician. I would not advise anyone to get this shot. I will not go back to receive the other 2 shots.

My daughter had the Gardasil shots last year. The school nurse talked to these young girls and told them all the dangers of cancer. It is a scare tactic. Doctors tell you to get the shots as well...makes their offices LOTS of money...the insurance companies presently pay for the shots, and the are very expensive. My daughter passed out w/ the first shot. Never has passed out before. (Do not allow your daughter to drive herself to get this shot...for the adult women..have someone drive you if you choose to have this vaccination, although I would strongly recommend NOT.) My daughter, since she was vaccinated with Gardasil, has had multiple ear infections, warts, strep multiple times, flu-like symptoms multiple times...pretty much the immune system took a nose dive. She never missed school before...was exempt from school exams many times because she was never sick. However, after Gardasil, she has missed many days due to all the sicknesses she has experienced. It has been approx. a year and she hasn't been as sick lately. I am hoping the immune system will get back to what it was before the shots but I strongly recommend NOT getting this vaccination. If my daughter gets worse, I am tempted to contact a lawyer. We might should get a count on the women that have been negatively affected by this and go to D.C. This vaccine should have been researched more. Our daughters should NOT be guinea pigs!!

My daughter has this vaccine and was severely ill. Migraines, hair falling out, pneumonia, dehydration, you name it ... She was super healthy before this vaccine. You need to detox to feel better. Western medicine cannot help much - unless they understand the eastern side of medicine as well - trust me - I'm in a yahoo group Lets Talk About Gardasil.

You need to go gluten-free/sugar-free/casein(dairy)-free, drink bottled or distilled water and introduce extra vitamins. (B12, D3, magnesium, folic acid, and a liver boost, which you can find at a vitamin shop). There is lots of information at the yahoo group - so please join so you can get healthy. Gardasil is a GMO (genetically made) which has problems all its own - but you need to get the metals out of your body which are in this vaccine and in many foods you eat - start reading labels! No high fructose corn syrup and lots of rest. Please check out the chat group - and please file a VAERS report - that is URGENTLY needed to get this vaccine off the market.

I am 14 years old, and have had all three Gardasil shots. Now, this may not be much in comparison to what some of you are going through, and im very sorry for you. however, it seems that a very common side effect of Gardasil is a sore arm. I had my first two shots already, and i recently received my third. as the nurse was administering the shot, i heard the words "oops" escape her lips. Needless to say, this worried me. I was also getting another shot that day, so my sore arm on the day of did not worry me. However, in the days after the shot, slowly the bump from the *other* shot went down, as the one from the Gardasil remained. It is as sore as can possibly be, and has recently become quite itchy. I do not want these other side effects to occur, especially since i am going away to camp very soon. Should i be terribly worried?

I'm 25 years old and approx 5 weeks after my second Gardasil injection started feeling sick. It has been 6 months now and still no relief. I have been to the doctor 13 times in the past 6 months, before this vaccine that was how much I was there in 13 years. This experience has been a nightmare and everyday I wake up wishing it was. I have had numerous blood tests, a CT scan, an esophagram, seen multiple doctors and it is so frustrating having them not believe you. I used to be happy, healthy and a social butterfly. Went on a job interview today and felt like I was out-of-body not really knowing what was going on. It is absolutely horrible to know that no one can help and be completely unsure of how long this will last. I just graduated from college and I'm supposed to be starting my life and now it's not knowing if this nightmare will ever end. I have had dizzy spells, chronic sore throat, unbelievable headaches with no relief from any OTC drugs or prescription migraine meds, extreme fatigue, hot flashes, night sweats, dry/itchy/watery eyes, ear pain, side pain, jaw pain. I pray for everyone who is going through this nightmare. ALL I want is to be healthy, feeling like my old self. I would give up everything to just be healthy again, pre-Gardasil.

A few months after that severe dizzy spells, racing heart and seeing stars in the middle of the night. Then migraine like headaches. Now chronic nausea and tingling and pain in her chest, shoulder and arm. Recently diagnosed with Parsonage-Turner syndrome which produces neurological impairment from "viral infection". The impairment is supposed to improve over time. She has had a hellish year. How is it that a 19 y0 girl who was healthy and a runner has turned into what doctors now think is a hypochondriac?

My 14 year old daughter who had the gardasil shot approximately 2 weeks ago, just came down with a urinary tract infection, yeast infection and sore throat. I took her to the doctor for this on Friday. She was sick all weekend with fever, throwing up. Today, (5/25/09), I looked down her throat, and her throat looked like the top of a snow mountain. I was certain she now had strep throat. I look her to urgent care. The doctor took a throat culture, and it came out negative for strep but positive for MONO. What the heck!~ Is this related to the Gardasil shot! If so, do I want to put my daughter threw the next shots. I have never seen my daughter so sick in 14 years. Please advise to your opinion.

My 16 year old daughter has been injured by Gardasil. She was a
healthy, active teenage girl before Gardasil was pushed on us at a
routine doctor visit. After receiving 2 of the 3 shots, my daughter has
experienced severe overall weakness, numbness/tingling in both legs and
left arm, chest pains, racing heart, pressure in head, vision problems,
back pain, abdominal pain, nausea, diarrhea, weight loss, dizziness, just
to name a few. She has been in the ER twice, once by ambulance for
stopping breathing 3 times. She's seen several doctors. She's had a CT
scan done. All tests come back normal (which is typical with all of the
injured 'gardasil girls'). Her blood panel showed high on
immunoglobulin E (131H) and Anti-streptolysin O (208H) which the doctor
'thought' was Rheumatic Fever. Another doctor has said he did not
believe she had Rheumatic Fever.

My 12 year old daughter had the shot on Friday, with 4 other immunizations due to our pediatricians recommendation. Within 24 hours, she had severe head pain and vomiting and then falling asleep immediately. She woke up the next morning and was fine, then within 2 hours the same exact thing. After sleeping again for a few hours she got up and was fine until later in the evening when she felt nauseas and tired again. I took her to school this morning and within a few hours, the nurse called she has a headache and pain at the injection site. I'm taking her back to the doctor this afternoon to be evaluated. They said this is not normal but they don't think it's due to this vaccine. She was perfectly fine all last week and Friday when I took her in to get the shot. I'm hoping they are correct and she just has some flubug, but after reading these posts, I'm very worried.

Daughter received last injection in 2007. In 2008 had severe abdominal symptoms and dx'd with acid reflux and prescribed Prevacid. Has tried to wean off it but debilitating symptoms persist. Endoscopy and stomach bx do not show H.Pylori. Cause unknown.
Now experiencing tinnitus and 50% hearing loss. Vey fast onset, sudden and unexpected. With current auto-immune disorders related to Gardasil am wondering if anyone else is experiencing ringing in the ears and hearing loss. She certainly had the stomach symptoms many pts experienced. I wonder if this drug is causing these young girls own bodies to attack otherwise healthy cells. I did not want my daughter to get the shot but her doctor and college were promoting it and she was over 18.

16 yr old daughter was given 1st injection in June 2008, her arm ached for several days thereafter. We never took her for her second injection since the various side effects were mentioned on the news shortly after the first injection. Daughters medical history was unremarkable prior to the Gardasil injection. Within a few weeks of the injection my daughter was at a concert with friends when she became dizzy, lightheaded, nauseated, having chest pains with a squeezing sensation, heart racing so fast she said she thought it was going to jump out of her chest. In November 2008 the same symptoms appeared again and my daughter passed out at the local Mall. Now, last week April 16, 2009 my daughter was at home when these same symptoms presented and wife rushed her to hospital. She was having SVT's (Supra Ventricular Tachycardia) with a heart rate of 283!. The ER staff quickly went into action and attempted to Cardiovert her (Shock Her Heart) into a normal sinus rhythm. After three unsuccessful attempts they finally was able to bring her heart rate down to a manageable level (150 beats per minute) by the use of the drug Lopressor. She is now home and doing fine but is on the cardiac drug, Toprol XL to keep her heart rate down to the high 80's and low 90's. We are to see a Pediatric Cardiologist on April 29, 2009.

I can't believe that after months of searching for an answer to my daughter's health problems I may have found it! My daughter was a healthy, active happy child until recently. She is 17 and started experiencing joint, bone and muscle pain and swelling, unexplained rashes, migraines, tingling in her hands and feet and was diagnosed with neurocardiogenic synchrony (heart rate and bp out of synch) shortly after her first shot (she was 14).

We have been to a rheumatologist for the joint pains, they did blood work and there is a marker for some sort of auto immune disorder, but nothing specific.

I never connected the dots to the shots. In January of this year she started having severe diarrhea, stomach and intestinal pains. She has no energy, the most basic activities wear her out. We ended up at a gastroenterologist looking for a diagnosis (they thought it was Crohn's or lupus). All the tests have come back negative, they said she had gastritis and blew us off. She is on medicine for the intestinal pain, a prescription for an antacid for gastritis and an anti-inflammatory for the joint and bone pain.

She was a straight "A" student up to January and has had to finish her junior year at home. It has been a very stressful experience for all of us.

I want to share information with everyone regarding the filing of Vaccine Injury Compensation (VIC) claims. I realize that many of you have probably already initiated action, but, if not, you may want to consider doing so.
I have posted a couple of times before regarding my daughter's reaction to Gardasil. Here's a brief summary: At age 19, she had 2 shots (Sep & Oct 2007). For 9 weeks in late 2007, she suffered severe GI problems, along with many other incapacitating symptoms, but no seizures. She recovered from the constant GI problems but has continued to experience occasional flare-ups. (Prior to the shots, she had NO history of such problems.) She also began to experience debilitating problems during menstruation, and in Oct 2008 her annual pap test showed precancerous cells, as did a follow-up pap test in Feb 2009. (In Sep 2007, she had a normal pap test.) Her next GYN appt is in May.
In light of her continuing problems and the alarming information in the Jun 2008 Judicial Watch Report regarding (1) the 44.6% increased chance of developing precancerous lesions if certain (undetectable) conditions existed prior to vaccination; (2) the fact that Merck does not know if the Gardasil vaccines are carcinogenic; (3) the fact that it is unknown if Gardasil will have long-term effects on fertility; (4) the fact that the final report on Gardasil's safety is not due until late 2009; and (5) etc., etc., etc., we have decided to file a VIC claim. She is still on our insurance bc she is 20 and a full-time college student, however, her future insurability once she becomes independent is a concern.
Information on filing claims is at I called the Clerk of US Court of Federal Claims at 202-357-6400 and within minutes he e-mailed me a list of attorneys who specialize in VIC claims. I called a nearby attorney, and he returned my call in less than a day and provided very helpful information. Generally speaking, claims must be filed within 3 years after the first symptom of vaccine injury and injury must last more than 6 months, or claims must be filed within 2 years of vaccine-related deaths. (This is not intended to serve as governing guideline; please refer to the website for complete information.) So, in my daughter's case, the 3 years will be up in Oct 2010. The attorney advised that we need to get started now to collect all the medical records and allow at least 6-8 months for review and processing (after medical records are obtained). The up-front cost is minimal ($250 to file, but assistance is available in cases of financial hardship, some doctors/hospitals may charge for records reproduction, but that's about it, as it was explained to me.)
I know that many of you are still trying to get your daughters through their Gardasil ordeals and may not have a lot of time to devote to this, but I wanted to alert you to the time limitations. Unfortunately, none of us know what complications our daughters will experience in the future from Gardasil, so it's something we should all consider.
Good luck to everyone. I pray daily for the thousands of girls who have been injured by Gardasil.

*********************READ THIS TO FIND HELP*************************
My daughter suffered severe side effects from the Gardasil vaccine - pneumonia, dehydration, etc. etc. The lots with "X" and "U" are causing the most problems. You need to detox your body from the aluminum that was in the vaccine. Please take special precautions if you had the above lot numbers (check with your doctor who administered).
Please read my posting on How to Detox from Gardasil on questions tab. This will help you. File a VAERS report immediately and call your doctor to let them know you are POSITIVE your illness is from the vaccine.
Several people are working on getting this off the market - but please write your congressman or senator to ask that they help. This is the only way to stop this! Also ... tell EVERYONE you know that this vaccine and others with aluminum are NOT safe!

To ilovesummer: I'm glad that you may be one of the lucky people that have had no side-effects....yet. You need to go to the website & do a Basic Search, using HPV4 in the Vaccine field and also indicate "yes" beside the Died? field and you will find that 33 deaths have been connected to this vaccine - are these families just looking for something to complain about? If you are looking to the CDC, FDA or Merck for whether or not this vaccine is safe, you are looking in the wrong place honey. Money & politics are a big driver in the pharmaceutical industry; go to
****** and search "how the pharmaceutical industry educates doctors". I couldn't figure out why the Regional Health Officer & doctors in my area were pushing this vaccine so aggressively so I researched as many different angles that I could think of until I finally found it: in the last couple of years, Merck donated about $143 million to our biggest university - would you look a gift horse like this in the mouth, and endanger losing a donation like that?? Look up Vioxx, also brought to us by Merck, courtesy of the FDA, which ended up killing approx. 40K people, and surprise, internal e-mails are now coming to light (at trial) that show that Merck knew about the cardiovascular dangers of the drug all along, but gee, for some reason they didn't share that info with the FDA or the medical community. It seems they are very selective about the info that gets released about their drugs/vaccines...hmm I wonder why...

I received my 2nd shot on 3/27/09. On 3/31/09 i began having headaches, diarrhea, chest pains, back pains, and abdominal, pelvic pains. They have not ceased since. I have tried taking headache medication but the headache returns the next day. Including the terrible abdominal pains. My mother overheard about a 5th grader taking these shots and ending up dying from them. Her doctors could not find the source of her problems and convinced her family there was nothing wrong...her death was the result.

My daughter began having severe headaches and dizzy spells after her sequence of Gardasil shots in late 2007. We've had her to the family doctor, a neurologist, an ENT, and multiple Emergency Room visits. All the tests (CT Scans, MRI's, blood work) have come back normal. While we're thankful for that, we're left frustrated and scared.
I was assured by her pediatrician and our OB/GYN that this vaccine was completely safe. I am now beginning to have my doubts, and am scared to death of what may come next; or that she's going to suffer like this indefinitely.

My 16 year old daughter got her first Gardasil shot on January 9th, 2009. Her doctor practically pushed this on us during a routine doctor visit. The dr told us it was safe and would protect my daughter from numerous things. She never once told us of any side effects and made me feel like if I didn't get her vaccinated, I was being a 'bad mom'.
Shortly after the first vaccine, we were in Walmart and my daughter started feeling like she was going to pass out. I thought it was because she hadn't eaten well that day so I bought her a candy bar and she ate it. (She's had several more of these episodes over the last few months.)
Then she started having severe leg pains that I thought were just 'growing pains'.
After the second shot on March 9th, 2009 she started having severe dizzy spells where she would run into things. Again I did not think anything of it other than maybe she hadn't eaten well that day. Then she started having numbness/pain/tingling in both legs and left arm. This is when I received an email about Gardasil that opened my eyes.

I started researching and found out about all these other girls that are having the same, if not worse, symptoms! I was in shock and disbelief.
That same day, Friday, March 20th, 2009, she had an attack that was so bad I had to take her to the ER. At the hospital, they ran blood tests and did a CT scan. All tests came back normal. The doctor there told me not to get the third shot because he said my daughter was having an allergic reaction to the vaccine.

Since Friday, March 20th, I have been researching nonstop. My daughter has been having new symptoms almost daily such as back pain, bladder pain, pain behind both kneecaps, severe weakness, tingling in both legs and left arm, left arm is very weak, nausea, weight loss, etc.

Friday night, she had an episode where her entire body was jerking uncontrollably and she was in pain with her legs and left arm. Her heart was racing so fast and she was having trouble breathing. (she constantly says she feels like she cant get a deep breath and that it hurts).
I was able to get her relaxed enough to go back to sleep.

On Monday, March 23rd, I called her doctor and told them what was going on. They told me to bring her right in. They also said that VARS had contacted them asking for my daughters' medical records. ( I had already reported to VARS before calling the doctor).

At the doctors office, I talked to her doctor about all of these cases and deaths that have been reported. She kept saying it was not the Gardasil. I asked her how she could be so sure, since this is such a NEW vaccine, nobody knows what to expect! She eventually started partially agreeing with me and examined my daughter. She called to get the reports from what the hospital had done and said she wanted to do more bloodwork. I had to take her back in to the dr's office the following day, Tuesday, for more blood to be drawn. They took 6 vials and said we wont have the results for about a week.

I am CERTAIN that my daughter is suffering because of the Gardasil shots!
She was a healthy, happy, vibrant, energetic 16 year old. Now she is tired all the time, weak, sick, and cant do her school work. She is very scared because of what we have found out from other girls.

I'm afraid for what is to come! Every day she seems to have a new symptom.

I found a great support group at ******
They have been a great help to me over these last few days. They have done their homework and are working very hard to get our government to do a thorough investigation into Merck and Gardasil before more of our beautiful daughters are harmed or killed.

I urge everyone to educate yourselves before you vaccinate with Gardasil!
If you want more information or if you want copies of the documents that we have found, including a Warning Letter that was sent from the FDA to Merck last year that found them in violation of NUMEROUS things, come to our ****** group.

23 years old, Had my 1st gardisal shot almost exactly 24 hours ago! Felt kinda weird all throughout the day, but dismissed it. Around 3 am I was awakened by an extremely upset stomach and severe diarrhea. I called my doctor office and spoke to a medical assistant and she stated that none of the doctors where in the office but if I could go to an emergency room to go to the er! I assumed from her response that I shouldn't be having these symptoms, but she didn't want to say that. I used my entire hour lunch to nap and almost fell when I tried to get up. My heart feels like it is going to jump out of my chest. Cramping in my stomach and I'm extremely scared to eat anything because the smell of food makes me lightheaded and. My best friend has had the shots and she said her's went okay so I agreed to go ahead and get the shot.....worst mistake !

My daughter got the gardasil shot ten months ago. She was a normal healthy beautiful active teen before the shot. She had been running about ten miles a day and within none DAYS of getting the shot ( the reaction started sooner) she was in ICU fighting for her life! She has chest pains, shortness of breath, dizziness, headaches, stomach pains, insomnia, hairloss, voice changes, personality changes, auto immune issues, rashes, strange swelling, leg tremors, hand weakness, fatigue general malaise and I could go on and on. This was supposed to be her senior year, but she is so weak and missed so much school, she had to drop out. This has got to stop!

I received all three of the gardesal shots. The first three were painful, but about two weeks after my last shot I developed a golf ball size lump at the injection site. My entire upper arm has been tender to the touch, tingling and numb. I called the doctor who states that is must be something else. I am positive it is from the shot. I will be monitoring the swelling, and if the pain woresens, seek different medical attention. Has any one else experienced this problem??

I am 23 years old I had my first abnormal pap in November of 2006, I then had to get paps every 3 months, my paps got worse and as of December of 2007 I had a cone biopsy to remove part of my cervix, then I started the Gardasil shots. After the third shot my paps started coming back normal and I have not had an irregular one since. I think that every girl should have these shots, if not for the shot I could have ended up with cervical cancer!

On Dec 18, 2008 my 18 yrs old received her 3rd shot. No problems until then. She has had a skin rash for over 3 months now. They first said it was a virus, then pityriasis rosea, eczema, and after a skin bio the diagnosis includes an arthropod bite reaction and urticarial hypersensitivity reaction to a drug. For 3 months I've been asking if it might be the gardasil and they keep saying NO. She's had every type of cream, some costing $90 and now on predisone. They also thought it might be scabies. The rash has looked like several different kinds of rashes. But still she itches all the time and has had a more severe rash in her private areas. It seems like the rash is always changing. So far that's been the only problem, unlike some of what I've read. I'm only praying that nothing else happens. They also said that living in a dorm could have bugs and that's where the bite would come from. But she had been living in the dorm for 3 months, came home, received her 3rd shot and now we have been to the dr. several times a month trying to relieve her itching and rash.

Has anyone else had just the rash??

My daughter received her first shot on 6/20/2007 when she was 14 years old and second shot on 12/27/2007. During this time frame she complained of having headaches daily. On 1/8/2008 my daughter had a seizure. She had been a healthy, dancer and scholastic student. Since her shot she has had a total of 12 seizures and has been in and out of hospitals numerous times. She was diagnosed with epilepsy in March of 2008. She has been on Topamax, Keppra, Lamictal and Zonegran and continues to have seizures. The side effects from the medications that my daughter has suffered with along with depression has been tremendous.
We thought we were protecting our daughter and found that we have only hurt her. The doctors need to stop pushing the shot and it needs to be taken off the market. Because of this shot she has to be dependent on more drugs. She has missed so much school, which were important years (freshman & sophmore) that she will never get back. How many more girls need to suffer!

I am 20 and had all 3 of the shots. I was going into my freshman year of college, and in September became very sick. I refused a blood test because I hate needles. By November I could barely walk on my own. The hospitals kept giving me medicine for bacterial infection, but it just kept getting worse. My fever stayed at 103 before I went back to the ER. A blood test concluded I had mono. Just figured I got this from being a freshman partier. During this time I also had an abnormal pap smear for the first time. My mom did research and found other girls who had cases of mono after the 3rd shot too. Very, very rare. Now I have to go to the gyno every 6 months because they found pre-cancerous cells. I also failed my first semester of college because I was so sick. This is all thanks to the Gardisal shot. I do NOT recommend. It should be taken off the market now!

My 12 year old daughter completed the 3rd round of the Gardasil shot in late August of 2008. School started the next week. A couple of weeks later, she became ill and I rushed her several times to the doctor and to the emergency room only to have the doctor say she had a virus. After 2 weeks of horrible pain, nausea, and headaches, I took her to the emergency room at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. She was referred to a Gastroenterologist where she has been going ever since. The doctor has had her on pain medicine since December to help her cope. I analyzed all of her information and compared it to the 12,000 cases in the VAERS database and I am convinced that the shot made her sick. NO DOUBT! The database is located at and you can run the lot # of the dose given to you through the database to determine if their has been any adverse effects noted. The first dose that Lauren had was listed 78 times. Her second dose was listed 70 times. Her third dose was listed 74. I researched the ingredients contained in the shot and the one that I am concerned with is Aluminum. After researching the effects of aluminum poisoning, I believe that she has all of the signs. I begin treating my daughter at home with sublingual (dissolves under the tongue) Vitamin B12 and Vitamin C tablets available at the local drug store over the counter. My daughter has been sick for 7 months and has missed almost her entire Eighth Grade year. As you can see, since starting the vitamins, she has gone from being sick 97% to only being sick 28% of the time. This is a BIG improvement and this may help other young ladies who are affected. I don’t think it will help all, but as sick as these girls are, I don’t see how it could hurt. Her doctors at Wake Forest are aware of what I am doing and agree.

Month Sick Well
SEPT 93% 7%
OCT 97% 3%
NOV 83% 17%
DEC 87% 13%
JAN 71% 29%
FEB 43% 57%
MAR (WK 1-3) 28% 72%

My daughter has been referred to Duke Medical Center now and will go for her first appointment in about 1 month. The FDA and CDC need to pay attention to what is going on and pull this drug off the market. If you have been affected, please ensure that you report your reaction to the VAERS Database. Your doctor is required to report adverse effects, so demand that they do so.

I hope this helps, and if anyone tries the vitamins and it does help or if you would just like to ask me some questions about my daughters experience, email me at ****** and let me know. I will update the doctors at Wake Forest and Duke. Hopefully, if we band together, we can get to the bottom of this and figure out what to do help these vaccine injured girls.

My 13 year old daughter had her third shot on 02/16/09. Her first two shots did not seem to be a problem. She said her arm hurt really badly after the shot, and the next day she complained of leg pains she hadn't had before. Within a few days, she had a high fever with body aches like the flu, except it wasn't the flu. She felt better, but a week later she still had a low grade fever. She was tested and had strep throat, and was treated with anti-biotics. A week later she started having stomach cramps and diarrhea. It's now March 18th and she still has diarrhea. I think it's criminal this vaccination is being given to our young women. How on earth could anyone think "possibly" preventing HPV and/or cervical cancer is worth the risk of what my daughter and so many others are having to go through?

My daughter has been ill for the past two years. Please check out other postings by me on this site. Chelation Therapy will help - Gluten-free, Sugar-free. NO CORN SYRUP (alum. in it). Start eating fruits and fruit juices and greens. If the greens upset you stomach too much, back off until you have been gluten-free for a longer period. Take these vitamins and drink only distilled/bottled water. B6, B12, Omega 3, Folic Acid,
Magnesium, Calcium. These should start you on the way to recovery. If you see a doctor, please ask them to check niacin levels because I believe that there is a link with a niacin impairment issue. Please check more at ****** if you want additional information and also file a VAERS report immediately so they will get this vaccine off the market! I am not a medical person but have done tons of research. Please pass the word to EVERYONE you know!

My 13yr old niece has always been a healthy, active and straight A student. Then on 11/5/08 during a routine physical, she received her 1st dose of Gardasil. On 11/28/08 she started to complain that she felt weak and had a headache. Since it was 2 days after Thanksgiving we thought that she was tired from all the holiday activities. On 11/29/08 she had a headache and stayed in bed all day. She got up that afternoon & had 2 seizures. She was rushed to the ER.
As of today, March 8, 2009 she is still in the hospital in Intensive Care Unit. She has been in critical condition since. Within 2 days after her seizure, she lost the ability to eat, speak, walk and communicate in anyway. She is completely unresponsive. She is on the ventilator, she is basically in a coma. We do know she has an viral infection with a shadow on the left side of her brain. All of the testing that has been done all show negative for any illness or diseases.
We are still unsure if she will come out of this. This has been completely devastating to our family.
We have no answers from doctors. Even though we know in our hearts that this was a side effects from Gardasil. I don't know if they will ever fully admit it.
We are left to watch and wait. That is what the doctors tell us daily..

I received my first Gardasil shot back in September '08, and my second shot December '08. I was supposed to go back the 1st of this month to get the third but decided not to go. After the first shot my whole arm was so sore I could barely move it for about a week. I became extremely tired and run down, and began getting symptoms like I had the flu. These symptoms lasted for about two weeks after the shot, them seemed to somewhat go away. I figured my body was just not used to the medication so I went ahead with the second shot. This time the symptoms were worse. Again my arm was sore to the point of not being able to use it, and I was extremely tired. I remember going home from work that day and immediately going to bed at 5, no waking up until almost noon the next day. for the next couple of days i slept almost non stop until Monday when i had to get up for class. Since my second shot I have not had nearly as much energy as I used to, I am always tired and feeling like I need to take a nap even if I got over 8 hours of sleep. I feel like I am not all there, or as smart as I used to be for some reason. I'm not the same person I used to be. I wish I had never gotten the shots to begin with, I want all of my energy and my old life back.

My daughter is 17, had her 3rd Gardasil shot July 2008. She is not one to take naps and is now taking daily nap and going to bed 1 - 2 hours earlier than she ever has before. She came to me a week ago and told me that she just does not feel good and wanted to know why....could she go to the doctor. Of course I scheduled an appt...the dr questioned her of her symptoms and sent her for blood work check for mono, anemia, thyroid. Talked with the dr today and ALL of her blood work came back Great! dr tells me that all of her levels could not be better. So I ask could this be a side effect of the Gardasil vaccine? Of course he tells me that no there should not be any side effects this long after having had her last shot in July of 2008. So I ask what to do next....long pause....well it might be a virus that is trying to surface....I replied with one that has taken 6 weeks to surface? Again long pause...So I ask the dr what else could be done....he simple said he did not know...this is unacceptable to me! I had a very vital young lady living at my house now have a lifeless young lady with dark circles under her eye living at my house....and to think I thought I was being a good mom having her get the vaccine to prevent cancer not knowing that I was going to take the life out of her....I am just sick for the choice I made for my daughter! My daughter received her first vaccine in Dec. 2007 at 15 y/o. We really didn't notice anything out of the ordinary until she received her second shot in Feb. 2008. In March of that same year she began experiencing severe abdominal pain and an unusual rash on her feet and ankles. We have been through many different tests from acid reflux to testing for Ulcerative colitis to Crohn's disease. We do not have a diagnosis as of yet but I recently realized that all of her symptoms began following her second shot. Her symptoms are severe abdominal pain (more severe while on her period), nausea, diarrhea and spotting between her periods There isn't a day that goes by that she does not have pain. She developed the rash on her feet and ankles and itching under her armpits that comes and goes (one doctor states it may be eczema) Nothing is clear to us as to what is going on. She will not be receiving the third shot! There is nothing worse than watching your child suffer as I have watched her suffer! My heart and prayers to all you moms out there and children going through such a horrible ordeal!

My 12 yr. old daughter had her first gardasil shot last summer and her 3rd in January. She has been complaining of headaches, nausea, stomach pain, dizziness, confusion, as she put it 'she felt like an alien'. I just figured it was preteen/body change/that time of the month stuff and thought it would pass. She only complained of headaches a few times after the first shot, didn't even think of them being from the shot but then more after the 2nd shot, still didn't make a connection, and now it's an every day thing. This morning again the headache/nausea/stomach pain, crying from the pain and Tylenol isn't helping. I got her to go to school but after 2 hours had to go pick her up. She said it was worse. We will be back at the doctors for the 3rd time in 2 weeks. With the possibility of this being from the gardasil, I wish I had never gotten the shots. The not knowing, is this from the gardasil? will it pass? get worse? and what she is going through. No it's not worth it

My 17 year old daughter had her scheduled three doses of gardasil and within the last month was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma. I have tucked away the names of about a dozen others that have had the same diagnoses after two or three gardasil shots. I FIRMLY believe gardasil triggered my daughter's lymphoma. WILL NOT give it to my younger daughter and research each day to find statistical evidence. Hodgkins Lymphoma symptoms are: fever, night sweats, weight loss, itching, swollen lymph nodes, fatigue, pain on drinking even a little alcohol. Most people do not experience all of these symptoms. The most common symptoms are swollen lymph nodes and fatigue. The itching and pain on alcohol consumption should be a big fat red flag! Beware...

Wow. I am so grateful for this thread re: Gardasil. My daughter is 15 and for the past couple of years every doctor and nurse has advised me to get her vaccinated. I also receive forwarded e-mails from friends that only talk about the horror stories. The doctors say don't believe what you read on the internet. The last time she was in for a physical for her sports clearance, I signed the consent form for her to get the vaccine. I also told the nurse to leave it up to her. If she's ready to get it today, let her. If not, no big deal. Up until that time she felt she should get it. I was surprised (and now thankful) that when she came out of the room, she decided against it for no reason. She is the one that when she get a fever, it's severe and she hallucinates, ends up with the weird viruses and out of school for days, has been to the er thinking she was dying with unexplained severe abdominal pain, and even had scarlet fever last year. She's otherwise very healthy, she just gets hit with strange things. That being said, I have no doubt that she would be one of the girls with terrible, possibly life changing side effects and I just cannot take that chance. So, thank you to all for sharing your experiences and I am so sorry for all the pain and suffering this vaccine has caused you all. My heart goes out to you.

I've not had any experience with the shot. I've been reading the postings and my heart just breaks for these young women. I read a story in our local newspaper about a young lady that was sick from a round of vaccinations. Gardasil came to mind. Almost 10,000 girls have visited the emergency rooms and many have died. We have been so deceived by big drug companies and they have made astronomical amounts of money at the expense of our children's lives. They use happy, healthy, beautiful young girls to advertise their evil. My advice is to cleanse and detox the body thoroughly-remove the poisons. Young ladies you need to rise up and speak out against this-You can do it-You've been through it. You can have an impact because you've been through it.

I don't have any side effects from Gardasil- I've been reading postings because I read about a young lady in our local newspaper that is sick from a round of vaccinations. Immediately Gardasil came to mind. There have been almost 10,000 emergency room trips from this drug and many deaths,
My heart goes out to all of the young women on this board. We have been so deceived by big drug companies. My advice to combat this is to cleanse and detox the body thoroughly-remove the poisons and then rise up and speak out against what is being done to millions of young women. You can have a great impact because you have been through it.

My 15 year old daughter had her second shot 2/5/09. She has fainted twice, and once had seizure like episode. All her muscles seemed to tighten on her, her breath became short, she was crying out in pain, but remembers none of these things. They ran tests (EKG, CAT, blood work) in the ER that showed no reason for concern and diagnosed her with syncope. After researching (a little too late) this drug and other's reactions I am convinced this drug is causing these health concerns. She is sick to her stomach and experiences tingling in her hands and arms. Her muscles hurt, her back hurts, and two weeks ago she was a model of health. She is feeling better in the last two days and we are praying for a full recovery - however, we will not let this rest until we have answers. Please keep posting and spreading the word! If Gardasil is as bad as it appears we must band together and get it off the market!!!

I posted a short one, would like to add to it. My daughter was taken by ambulance twice last week to the ER, after having violent seizure like episodes. On second visit, she had several while we were waiting to be seen. She spent 5 days in the hospital, having these episodes as few as 10, as many as 30. lasting any where from 4 minutes to 40. She screams out in pain. It's like her entire back, including arms, legs, hands, feet are having a severe muscle spasm at that same time. If you look up dystonia, the definition fits. Dr. said it was too severe for that diagnosis. They ran EEG, EKG, Cat Scan, MRI, X-ray, extensive blood and urine work, video for 24 hours, with EEG. Everything was normal. DR decided it was stress and anxiety. Released from hospital still having episodes. I called a dystonia specialist in Maryland, she asked if she had the GARDASIL shots. Said it sounded like a side effect she had heard of. Well, after reading all these blogs, youtube, I believe it's the GARDASIL causing her problems. I knew it wasn't stress & anxiety. We are currently detoxing with ionizing foot baths, gluten free diet and meds from Health food store, called HMD-Heavy Metal Detox. I feel we are moving in the right direction. My daughter is a cheerleader, dancer and honor student. She just wants her life back. It has been on hold for 2 weeks now. I consider her one of the lucky girls, after reading many blogs. God Bless each and everyone of you. Sign the petition to stop hurting our girls.

My then 11 year old daughter received her first vaccine in June 2007, and third in December 2007. In January 2008, she began complaining of backaches and headaches. During the spring/summer 2008, she began having tremors, tingling and numbness in her legs and arms. She is always tired and never feels good. We have seen a neurologist and 2 neurosurgeons, had CT scans and MRIs. But no answers. She is on medication that has helped slightly, but she still suffers from a constant headache that she never ranks less that 4 on a scale of 1 to 10. Typically she rates it as a 7 or 8, and we have had a couple of 12s.

My 19 year old daughter received the first shot in March 2008. She immediately had a severe back pain. She had her first seizure in April. She got the second shot in May and had more seizures, fatigue, headaches, severe stabbing stomach pains, body aches and pains, tremor, hair loss, vision problems, 2 UTI's, mono like symptoms - swollen glands, bruising and bleeding gums are the most recent symptom. She had daily seizures throughout the summer and they are now about every 5-6 weeks. She is fighting to recover from this horrible nightmare called Gardasil. Thank goodness we figured this out and she did not get the third shot. If you want to sign the petition to get this vaccine in front of Congress go to:

I had the Gardasil Shot in October 2007. I wasn't considering it by my Gyno recommended it as I was getting close to the cut off age. Since then i have developed a form of vasculitis where I have dark purple purpura all over my arms, legs, stomach and buttocks. I can no longer wear short sleeves and shorts in the winter. I don't recommend anyone getting this vaccine.

My daughter had her 3rd Gardasil shot in the beginning of November 08.
About 2 weeks later her glands in her neck started to swell. I took her to my ENT who did a mono test, which turned out negative. However her glands were still very swollen, one was so big it had to be surgically removed. The doctor thought she had Hodgkins, thankfully it was also negative. OK now what? After more blood test were taken she was diagnosed with Epstein Barr Virus, a form of Mono. Like so many other posters she was a very healthy active girl prior to the Gardasil shot. Since the 3rd shot she has had 2 UTI's, is unable to sleep at night and has frequent headaches.
I am another one of those mothers who regret having my daughter get these shots. I didn't do my homework. Now I can only pray that she does not have any further complications. After reading the post on this, I wouldn't recommend getting these shots.

there are tons of similar experiences. There's also good information on "Let's Talk about Gardasil" - I think there are over 50 members and LOTS of good information if you are looking to help yourself. The doctors can't do it ... trust me on this one ... it's all about living VERY healthy to clear your body of toxins.

Soon after receiving the first of three Gardasil vaccinations, my daughter started experiencing daily headaches which progressively worsened. Her doctor said that it wasn't likely to be a side effect of Gardasil. Over the next year, she was referred for vision testing and had a CT Scan and MRI to try to diagnose the chronic headaches which had become quite severe and often debilitating. No cause was found. She was given prescription after prescription which didn't help- and often generated additional side effects that made her feel worse. A year later she still has undiagnosed headaches and takes a prescription medication twice per day to lessen the severity of the headaches. Only recently did we find an article relaying the same story- linking the headaches to Gardasil vaccinations. With no health issues prior to the vaccinations, no underlying cause found following many tests, doctor referrals and medications, and the fact that this all started immediately following her first dose of Gardasil, we suspect this is what instigated the headaches.

My Daughter was twelve when she got her first and second Gardasil shot. The first shot went well other than the normal irritation after the injection. The second shot hurt a bit worse and for longer after, but we thought nothing of it. Slowly, she started to get very down and very tired, it was around the holiday season so we thought maybe she was just stressed out. Then, she started bleeding vaginally. There were no "warning signs" that she was starting her period, so we treated it as a Urinary Tract infection, and that's what the doctor's told us it was, until a month later, she got it again and we found that it was her period. She also started having MAJOR stomach issues, having two colon scopes, and many other tests (as well as tests for Urinary Issues as well). All have so far come back negative, but all this started occurring exactly ONE MONTH after her second shot. Needless to say, please read her about her other symptoms, and the other posts on this site and others. Gardasil, does not seem to be as safe as they say.

Hi.. I'm 18 years old and I have experienced strange side effects that myself and my mother believe is from the Gardasil shot. I had the first shot over the summer, and for weeks after noticed that I was experiencing a rapid hair loss. Knowing that I was anemic I kind of just brushed off the thought and just tried not to pay attention. My doctor put me on iron pills to boost my iron levels, and i also began eating healthier. So, slowly the hair loss became not a noticeable. Then in the fall I got my second shot. And, weeks after my hair loss began again.. except worse this time. I found myself crying myself to sleep and spending hours on end looking up information on the internet. Finally it hit me that it must have something to do with the Gardasil shot. My mom took me to get blood work for anemia.. and it had improved.. so that couldn't be the cause of the hair loss. Well, now its late winter and i have not gone back for the third shot.. and actually things have gotten better. My hair loss is not as much and though my hair has thinned out quite an amount, its not the most of my worries anymore. I just wanted to put it out there that if things got better for me, then hopefully they can for everyone else as well. I'm looking to find better dieting to help improve everything, but the doctors deny it being from the Gardasil at all. I don't believe them.

My daughter had her gardasil injections in 2007 at age 16. Until then she'd had 3 years of normal regular periods. Since then her period has all but stopped, just appearing every 4 or 5 months for a day. We are now worried if this will effect her fertility.
Since the injection she has also developed vairly severe acne.
She has also had 2 episodes of passing out and seeming to have a seizure after just 2 alcoholic drinks. The doctor says none of this has anything to do with the vaccine, however I am sure that the sudden change in her periods came directly after her first shot. Qld. Australia

My 13 year old daughter received her 2nd shot in early June. Within days she was itching everywhere (only a few areas looked like hives around the bikini area). It is now January, and she is still itching everywhere (no hives or rash). They finally put her on prednisone, and it is making it worse. They say this all could be from the vaccine and she should not get the 3rd shot, but "there is no way of knowing." I just called the doctors office because the prednisone is making it worse, and they want her seen again within 24 hours. Anyone else having this problem? She's been allergy tested, and had blood tests-nothing shows up. Any suggestions for further tests?

This was posted by a doctor who is treating a group of girls who have been very ill since their vaccinations. I thought it would be helpful to those of you struggling with side-effects. I will pray for all of you.

1. Reduce exposure to food allergens, especially foods containing gluten. Gluten is known to cause damage to the nervous system (brain and nerves). Email me (******) and I will send you a list of foods that contain gluten. I do not bother to try to figure out food allergies (there are NO good allergy tests). Just restrict the diet to meat (chicken, turkey, lamb and fish), vegetables (no tomatoes, eggplant or potatoes), and homemade chicken broth.

2. Manage blood sugar levels by eating protein every 2 hours. This helps maintain proper levels of glucose in the blood. In women, this helps to reduce high testosterone levels and feeds the cells so they can function properly. Also, proper glucose levels are necessary for correct brain function. The brain only weighs 2-3 pounds but uses 1/3 of the body’s glucose. Without a healthy functioning brain there is nothing to orchestrate healing in the body.

3. Manage any anemic condition. There are many types of anemia. Iron anemia is only one type. NEVER take iron unless you know you have iron anemia. Low iron levels on a blood test do not mean you are iron anemic. Iron toxicity is very damaging; taking iron can cause tremendous inflammation as well as oxidative stress on the body. It is a must if you need it but detrimental if you don’t.

4. Reduce homocysteine levels to below 5. At levels above 5 there is the possibility of barrier breakdown. There is a gray area between 5 and 7. Levels absolutely have to be below 7 but I do not like to gamble so I choose to get them below 5.

5. Take care of ALL gut infections and these can be analyzed with stool tests. There are many different types of stool testing out there. The ones your traditional M.D. will order are not sufficient (we have had many patients show false negatives with these). The test I use in my office is by Metametrix Laboratory. It is DNA type testing and is the most sensitive test around.

6. You must fix the barriers. This can be done in different ways and is too complicated to explain here.

7. Drink half your body weight in ounces of water per day (Example: 120 pound person would need to drink 60 ounces or about 2 liters of water per day. Water does not include juice, soda, milk, etc.

The above list is not comprehensive, but it’s a good foundation. There is nothing more heartbreaking than to watch a child’s health decline due to a vaccination that a doctor recommends. If your child is suffering, my prayers are with you. Do not underestimate the power of prayer when it comes to healing. Healing cannot take place without the will of God.

May God bless you and your family with His power of healing.

exactly two weeks to the day after receiving the gardasil shot, i was awaken in the middle of the night with severe stomach pains, vomiting, and uncontrollable diarrhea. after two hours of this my hands and feet went numb, i became extremely dizzy, and passed out. my husband took me to the emergency room right away. i was in the hospital for 3 days receiving morphine for pain and several several bags of fluid. i ran a 101.4 fever and was so weak i was unable to get out of the hospital bed. i have had stomach viruses plenty, this was not a stomach virus. i feel like i got severe poisoning from the gardasil shot. i will not be going back for the 2nd or 3rd shots.

I am 19 years old and have never had a health problem in my life. Of course the occasional cold or flu, but nothing serious, until I received my first Gardasil vaccination in August 2008. I was an active girl, running 5 miles a day and in the best shape of my life when I started getting dizzy and light-headed while I was running. At first I didn't think anything of it, perhaps I just didn't eat well enough that day, until it started happening day after day. When I went to my doctor as told her about these symptoms and asked about the possibility of an allergic reaction to Gardasil, she said, "No, absolutely not." So I didn't think about it anymore, and received my second dose in November. The week after I received my 2nd shot, I felt sicker than I have ever felt in my life. Extreme nausea, headache, dizziness, aching muscles, diarrhea, almost anything you can think of, I had it. After being reassured by my doctor that my prior symptoms were not from Gardasil, I didn't connect this week of suffering with it either, until I found this website. Now I wake up every day wondering if I am going to be able to get through my classes. I don't even remember what it feels like to be healthy anymore. I was scheduled to receive my third vaccination this week, but there is no way I am going to risk it. I beg of anyone who is thinking about getting the vaccine, or having their daughter receive the vaccine, please get as much research on it as you can. Gardasil has changed my life, and not for the better.

See my earlier post (from concerned mother on 8/5/08 at 8:29pm) regarding my daughter's severe reaction to the Gardasil vaccine during October - December 2007. As stated, she continues to experience menstrual problems (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, severe cramping) which incapacitate her. In October 2008, her annual pap test showed precancerous cells. She is going for a re-check in February (I will post the outcome once it's known). The doctor wanted to wait 6 months for re-check but we are not comfortable with that. Just wanted to remind everyone to get their annual pap exams!!!

My daughter received the vaccination when she was 17. She also had the meningitis and hep vaccinations with the 1st and 3rd doses. (I have since learned that multi-vaccinating is not recommended.) She developed pneumonia between the 1st and 2nd doses (could have been related or not) and then when she started school in the fall of '07, she continued to struggle with colds, etc. This could, obviously, be all college-related and just how it is in college. However, last week she told me that she got her period AGAIN - after only another two weeks. That was the 2nd month of periods every two weeks. She is also sick again (She was sent to the hospital with flu-like symptoms at Christmas-time). I started researching auto-immune disorders and found that her illnesses could be related to Gardasil. She was pretty healthy until she was vaccinated. She also complained last year of her hair falling out, but she has a thick head of hair and I told her to take her vitamins. Now I'm really concerned that the Gardasil could be causing some serious problems after reading all the posts. She has an appt. next week with an OB/GYN. Sounds like so many have had similar problems. I am so upset with myself for having thought the vaccine was a good idea. Please pass the word to your friends that this vaccine has not been fully tested. I don't believe it's safe.

I am 20 years old and my sister is 17 years old. My sister received her first shot about a month and a half before I received mine. Her arm was sore for a few weeks. After a few weeks have passed she began to itch all over her body, and began to have blotches all over (the worst spot was her ankles and feet-they looked swollen). She went to the doctor and he said that he did not think it was from the gardasil shot, but could be irritated and dry skin. So, not thinking it would happen to me as well, I received my shot. Everything seemed fine, no pain at all. But then About a month later ( a week ago ) I woke up to itching ALL over(extremely bad on my stomach & arms). I tried using an anti-itch lotion and took medicine to attempt the itching and redness to go away and keep washing myself , but it did not really do anything. When I woke up the next day, it was mostly gone and the doctor said he did not think it was from the shot either. I just found it to be quite a coincidence that my sister AND i both received itchy-blotchiness around the same time period after the shot. But, after my sister received her second shot she was perfectly fine, with the exception of a soar arm where the shot was taken place. I did not go for my second one yet, but I hope everything turns out okay! If anyone else received any type of blotches or itchiness please let me know, we are very curious to see if its happened to anyone else too.

I have had two of the gardasil shots. After having my second shot the injection area seemed to be swollen and more red than usual as the week went on the redness went down a little but then it looked like it started to scar. I also began to experience muscle necrosis. This began in August 08 and now it's Jan 09 and it is progressively getting worse. I have an indent on my arm with an oval scar that will not go away.

Hi, I am 27 years old and have just completed the series of Gardasil shots. The only things I am aware of experiencing is soreness at the injection site (all 3 shots), passing dizziness (2nd shot) and low-grade fever (2nd and 3rd shot), lower neck pain (3rd shot) and possible UTI (3rd shot). From everything I am reading, it seems like the younger girls (11-16) seem to have the worst problems that create lasting effects. Perhaps, I would aire on the side of caution before giving the shots to the younger ones... it seems like terrible side affects. I do have some feeling of pressure on my chest, but that could be due to weather and allergies. Fact is, none of us really know what is from Gardasil and what is not from Gardasil. I wish there was some way to know a list of all things directly correlated. Most of my friends my age have not ha many problems with the shot... maybe some dizziness, soreness at shot site and fleeting nausea. I would hope that the drug gets analyzed again to make sure that the ages these girls are getting the vaccine is appropriate. It would have been nice to find this site before I got the vaccine. Good Luck to everyone!

After reading some of these side effects, I'm posting in regard to my 24 year old married daughter. I'm not sure of the time line, but she started Gardasil last year, and I believe she has had 2 doses so far. She had had migraine headaches before, but in the last 6 weeks they have become more frequent and severe. Right now, she has been immobilized with a severe migraine for nearly a week, and none of the usual medications help at all. Her internal medicine specialist is sending her in for a CT scan Monday morning to rule out a brain tumor, or the recurrence of a benign cyst in her sinus cavity like one she had 8 years ago.
She has also had dizziness, nausea, vomiting, among other symptoms. I am very worried about her.

My daughter is 11 years old. In Nov 08 she received her first Gardasil shot, she did okay at first just some very mild tenderness at the injection site. Just two days ago, she was just lounging around the house and a substantial chunk of her hair fell out! Of course she was devastated and I immediately called her pediatrician. The on call doctor did not seem concerned and didn't' provide any useful information so I took to the internet. I found photos of Alopecia Areata that looked EXACTLY like the bald spot on my daughters head, same shape and size. I searched for a couple days and racked my brain trying to figure out what caused this to happen to a healthy, athletic 11 year old, then I found this website. Although none of the other sites even mention hair loss as a side effect to Gardasil, I now realize that it has occurred in many. I am connived it was the Gardasil that caused this.

I received my first gardasil shot this year and was in bed for 2 days with severe cramps. When I went back for my 2nd round of shots I mentioned the severe cramping and my family doctor said the 2 weren't related. At that same appointment she reviewed a complete workup that I had done since she was a new doctor and I was completely healthy except my cholesterol being a little high which I knew was due to eating a lot of fast food at the time b/c of a new work atmosphere. I have now had all 3 shots and recently just went in for my obgyn annual and now I have a yeast infection that a week worth of antibiotics haven't gotten rid of and have to go back for a procedure because I have abnormal cells. I have never had any problems like this and haven't been sexually active in over a year. I am very very worried especially after reading others problems

Individuals thought to be injured by the human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine may be eligible for compensation from the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (VICP) as of February 1, 2007. This coverage permits individuals to file a claim for compensation beginning on February 1, 2007.

To be eligible for compensation, claims must be filed within one of the following periods:

within 3 years after the first symptom of the vaccine injury; or
within 2 years of the vaccine-related death and 4 years after the start of the first symptom of the vaccine-related injury from which the death occurred; or
2 years from the date the vaccine is covered for injuries or deaths that occurred up to 8 years before the date the vaccine is covered. The HPV vaccine is covered by the VICP as of February 1, 2007 and claims have to be filed by February 2, 2009 for injuries or deaths that occurred on or after February 1, 1999 that do not qualify under the other filing periods. Although two years from the date of February 1, 2007, would be February 1, 2009, under the current Rules of the United States Court of Federal Claims, the deadline under section 2116(b) of the PHS Act would be February 2, 2009, because February 1, 2009, falls on a Sunday.
This answer reflects the current thinking of the United States Department of Health and Human Services on the topics addressed. This answer does not create or confer any rights for or on any person and does not operate to bind the Department or the public. The ultimate decision about the scope of the statutes authorizing the VICP is within the authority of the United States Court of Federal Claims, which is responsible for resolving claims for compensation under the VICP.

I am 14 and received one shot in November 2007. I was very, very ill with throwing up and severe abdominal pain, kidney issues, high blood pressure, a strange rash, headaches, low grade fever and a few other symptoms. i was in and out of the hospital for about 3 or 4 months until i saw a nutritionist in California named M. F. Him and his wife (a chiropractor) have helped me get pretty much back to normal. If need any advice or help you can email me at ****** or my mom at ******. Please contact me with any questions. This shot has been horrible on my health and overall life but i might be able to help.

When my daughter was 15 her dr suggested she get the vaccine. Trusting the doctors advice, i ok'd it. The first two injections were fine. Immediately after receiving her 3rd, her arm, neck, and shoulder got really sore and then about two weeks later she developed severe pain in her upper abdomen causing her to pass out. That was on November 22, 2007 and she hasn't been the same since. She has suffered severe pain, nausea, dizziness, fatigue, IBS, anxiety attacks and depression brought on by the sickness. Our life for the past year has consisted of going to doctor after doctor trying to figure out what is wrong with her. She has been diagnosed with mono, UTI's, had her gal bladder removed, etc. Funny, they diagnose her with all these things but no treatments have worked. She went from being a very beautiful, active 15 year old girl with lots of friends and activities to barely being able to get out of bed in the morning. My question is, does anybody know how to help or what to do ?

A good friend of mine, a person I have known for 30 years, told me yesterday that her son's girlfriend, a college student, had surgery over the Christmas break for cervical cancer. This is her second surgery, and both surgeries were paid for by the manufacturer of Guardasil. By paying for these surgeries, it seems clear that the company is accepting responsibility for what happened to her. Apparently, because this girl had a weak immune system, Guardasil actually caused the very thing it was intended to prevent--cervical cancer.

Neither my friend nor I had never heard anything like this before, and I am wondering if others know or know of girls who have actually gotten cervical cancer after receiving Guardasil.

Hello Everyone,

Reading your stories has brought tears to my eyes. I have received my first shot two months ago, on October 20th. Since October 24, I have had nothing but struggle. I am 25 years old and have been in good health my entire life. The only thing I have ever had a struggle with was UTIs, approximately 2 times a year. However, they were gone with the first dose of antibiotics, within 24 hours. Couple of years ago, my gynecologist had completely cured me from that annoying disease through a course of medication that I took for two months. That was not a very easy process but I was free at last. I did not have a care in the world. However, my nightmare came back after the first Gardasil shoot. Exactly three days later, I woke up with severe pains in my lower abdomen, as well as all the other common symptoms of a UTI. Honestly, being as careful as I always have been with UTIs, I did not put Gardasil and this infection together. I went to my doctor. She tested me for a UTI, said I had a small presence of bacteria in my urine, and released me with a prescription for Macrobid. After a week of taking the meds, things were not looking up. It has been two months, and things have not gotten better. About two weeks ago I started searching for other causes of this pain that is resisting going away. I have been on three courses of antibiotics and going back to my doc tomorrow, after coming across this discussion. I have never experienced pain like this before, having considered myself a veteran of UTIs. I thank you for sharing your stories and advise everyone to think twice about having these shots or taking your children. I am not going back for another dose of this nightmare! I don't even know when I will feel normal again. Everyday starts with a thought: "Will I feel pain when I go to the bathroom today?" I am now completely sure that Gardasil had everything to do with my recent condition.

I am 25 years old and I have received 2 of the 3 shots.I do not remember when exactly I got the first one but I received my 2nd one in June. The first time my arm was sore for awhile and i remember feeling a little dizzy after the injection but nothing to be worried about my doctors made sure I was ok to drive.I got the second one and had no immediate problems. Now when i received my first one my arm had swelled up but it went away after a few days. After the second one I noticed that my arm stayed swollen a little longer well it has been 6 months since I got my second gardasil shot and I still have a lump in my arm. I was told to do some physical theorpy with a doctor or put a heating pad on it and massage for the next two to three weeks and see if it goes away. My doctor said it shouldn't be this way for this long.i know this is not as severe side effect as some of the other people but I thought I should share it.I did not receive the third shot and i don't think im going to.My doctor told one of the nurses to report it to the company. I would advise anyone who decides to get the gardasil shot to do some research first.

i got my first shot three days ago pretty much without my permission. my ignorant doctor wouldn't listen that i most likely won't be able to get the second shot in the allotted amount of time (2 months) but she insisted that i get the first one anyway. well, three days later and there is blood in my urine. i have every symptom of a urinary tract infection other than the fever, but who knows? that could be next. now my mom is pissed off at me for making her call the doctor when i was just there a few days ago but there is absolutely no reason i should be having blood in my urine or a possible urinary tract infection. i have done nothing out of my ordinary lifestyle everyday since the shot and i have read countless other problems with the Gardasil vaccine lately. i refuse to get the next shot and i will hopefully be going to the doctor today to get some antibiotics.....and if that doesn't clear it up, i'm not sure what to do...... :(

Like many of the other stories my daughter was a happy healthy 14 year old high school freshman prior to receiving the Gardasil vaccine. Now she is chronically ill suffering from pancreatitis, gastrointestinal disorders including extreme nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea, headaches, blurred vision, pain, fatigue, hypersensitivity to light and sound, and has had pneumonia twice. We have recently spent 8 weeks in two different hospitals to return home with still no answers as to how to end this nightmare. She has a central line so that we can give her IV nutrition TPN and Lipids, is on 5 nausea medicines and 1 pain medicine every 6 hours round the clock just to keep her comfortable. We are going to take her to Mayo's with the hope they can help us, I refuse to accept the fact that this is what her life has become and that our only option is to treat the symptoms. The doctors so far are completely clueless without it being in black and white on a piece of paper from a test result they seem to dismiss you with out any compassion at all, I wonder if they would have that same additude if this was their daughter. If anyone out there has found any kind of help please let me know. I can't believe Merck is still being allowed to poison our young girls while the FDA looks the other way!

I am 25 years old and got my first shot in Aug 08. I became drowsy 15mins later and passed out. My arm was so sore that I could barely lift it or touch it. I felt a tingly sensation on my hand but it went away a couple of days later. I got my 2nd shot in Oct 08. I had the same side effects like the first shot, as well as severe headaches, tiredness, nausea. But this time, I started having pimples on my face. It is now December only took 2 months and now i have severe nodular acne. I went to the dermatologist and they said it just happens. I'm on antibiotics to clear my skin and it still doesn't work. Its extremely severe, and now the dermatologist is going to prescribe me acutane for my skin. I've never had this issue with acne before. The pimples came about a week or so after the 2nd shot. And it keeps getting worst. So bad, that actually hurts.

My first Gardasil shot was at the same time as a flu shot and meningitis shot. I almost passed out right after the Gardasil. It was painful. I was fine after about a half an hour and was just sore for a few days. I felt fine and normal after that. I just had my second shot a few days ago and it wasn't as painful, It hurt at first but I was fine after about 10 minutes. I have experienced some sharp headaches that come and go all day. I have fatigue and feel weak. I don't know if it is the Gardasil, but seems to be. My arm is still very sore. I can't hold it up or in one position for too long. They made it seem like such a great thing to get this vaccine, but I'm not so sure anymore. Good Luck!

My daughter is 15 she has always been healthy. After her 3rd Gardasil shot on 10/14/2008 she began having headaches, nausea, vomiting, dizziness tingleing in her hands and fingers (this happened in the next few days after the shot), tiredness, chest pain, stomach pain, face rash, eye itchiness and hot/cold flashes. I am really upset that I allowed my daughter to get this shot. The doctor says she doesn't feel this is from the shot but there is no other explanation since she had none of these problems before! As a mother I feel terribly guilty for letting her get the shot. I haven't seen anything about how long people are having these side effects. Do the side effects go away in time?

I just recently got my third vac. i had no obvious symptoms with the first 2. Now, only a few days after the first dose. I am so nausea but never to the point of throwing up. not yet at least. Reading the other stories has made me realize that gardisal is the problem. I have blamed all my other symptoms(irregular periods, dizziness, extreme fatigue, severe mood swings) on stress but it was always on the back of my mind that something wasn't right. I feel like i am a constant whiner and i feel like everyone thinks im just doing it for attention. I don't like to made to feel like that. A seriously regret not researching this vaccine. But doctors and nurses are there to help you, i would have never thought not to trust something that they are pushing all young girls to get. I am 19 years old and i feel like I'm going on 60. I don't want to miss out on the what should be the best years of my life. I feel for so many of these young girls and women. To have been enjoying life so much and to becoming a wallflower, never being able to stay out late, drink, party, a family reunion, even to just go shopping. It has made everyday of my life a trial.

My 13 year old sister is a normal active teenager. She received the first Gardasil shot last October with Hep B. In November, she received the second Gardasil shot with the meningitis vaccine. Right before Christmas, she started experiencing tingling in her hands and fingers. Two days before the New Year, her knees swelled three times their normal size and were extremely painful. It took two weeks for her knees to become only slightly swollen. Several doctors and a specialist in pediatric arthritis later, she was diagnosed with chronic arthritis. She had no previous joints issue at all. She has been on medication for a year. We can only hope she has juvenile arthritis and that it will go in remission. Unfortunately, her wrists have started to hurt recently.

After much research by my mom and myself, we have come to the conclusion her spontaneous arthritis was a result of Gardasil. Most likely the combination of Gardasil and the meningitis vaccine was the cause. It should be noted that the FDA allowed Merck to fast-track Gardasil for approval. The Gardasil vaccine was never tested with the meningitis vaccine; however, most physicians give multiple vaccines at one time.

I'm 18 and a freshman in college. I received my second Gardisil shot a month ago. Within the past three weeks I have been experiencing awful headaches every night, extreme tiredness and diarrhea. I have also been extremely emotional lately.

My sister who is 15 in high school has also received the Gardisil shot. However, after passing out upon receiving the shot and due to difficulty breathing, my Mom did not allow her to get the second shot. My sister has been in and out of the doctors office and emergency room several times due to what doctors believe was a pulled muscle or inflamed chest cavity.

However, after reading the similar side effects that other girls have been experiencing, I am sure that both of our side effects are due to the Gardisil shot.

She got her 3rd shot the in Sept 2008 and on Oct 26 th she got virus like symptoms with headache nausea dizziness tunnel vision that will not go away. She has had an MRI, CT scan, blood work and been to the hospital 3 different times for fluid due to the nausea. The neurologist says that it is a migraine that is not responding to medicine. but I wonder now if it could be due to the shot.

Since my daughter second gardasil shot she has become tired all the time, she passed out on November 10 and was taken to the doctor. She orderd an EKG, chest xray and blood work. They called me that night and said she has an irregular slow heart beat ( which she has never had before). We went to a heart specialist the next day, he did an echo cardiogram and said things looked fine. If she passed out again, for me to call him and he sent us on our way. Tonight, while she was walking at work, it happend again. We went to E.R. and basically were told to follow up with her doctors on Monday. She is supposed to get the third shot in December, now i am afraid for her to get it. Im wondering if her suddenly getting the slow irregular heart beat, and passing out, irregular period, and headache is connected to the Gardasil. She is 17 and a senior in High School, she was planning on going to college, but now she is afraid to be alone, drive, or do anything that typical teenagers do.

My daughter has been experiencing extreme stomach cramping since the beginning of September. She had her last Gardasil injection (3rd) along with a tetanus booster late July. She has gone through an upper GI ultrasound, colonoscopy, endoscopy, capsule endoscopy, etc. Her gastroentologist thinks she has a pulled muscle. She has lost over 10 lbs. (didn't have 10 extra to lose). After reading these entries, I believe the common denominator here is the Gardasil.

If that is the case, we need to get the word out.

My granddaughter at my suggestion took her first Gardasil shot in Oct,
immediately her arm turned splotchy red and raise like jagged rocks. The
nurse was concerned but the PA was not. Now, I have read more on this
shot and my granddaughter and I have decided not to have the other 2
because the truth is she is a virgin and plans to stay that way. Also, this
week she had chest pains and they told her it was a pulled muscle. She
was so tired she slept for hours. She has also had nausea and diarrhea.
I would think long and hard before I took my daughter or
granddaughter to get these shots.. cjr

I am relaying the story of the granddaughter of my boss. She was 15 when she got the first shot of Gardisil in May of 2007. Within hours of the shot, she collapsed and an ambulance was called because she had distressed breathing. She was taken to a hospital and was in intensive care for 2 weeks in and out of consciousness. In the meantime, her mother tried to get the shot records from the doctor's office that gave the shot. They did everything in their power to:
A.Dismiss the correlation between the shot and the girl's collapse, despite the girl being in good health before the shot.
B.Keep the parents from getting hold of the vaccination records.
It was like pulling teeth to even get the vaccination batch numbers, and finally the office told the parents that somehow, the girl's health records went "missing". Luckily, the parents still had copies of most of the doctor visits, plus the "aftercare" paper following the shot with vital information on it.

When the girl finally began to be able to sit up again and eat on her own, she experienced mental fuzziness, memory problems, and speech problems. She had perpetual tingling and jolts of pain on the arm that had gotten the shot, in her side and abdomen and down both legs. Three weeks after the shot, she tried to get up out of bed and found she could not walk. She was diagnosed tentatively with Guillain-Barre Syndrome, also with nerve damage. It took her three full months to walk again without help, and even now, a year and a half later when she comes into the office she still has a bit of a limp. She lost over 25 pounds, which is pretty sad as she was not overweight or anything. She now looks very skinny and sickly. She had to quit school and started being home schooled because of the physical and memory problems and depression. I feel so sorry for her and her parents, who thought they were doing the right thing.

I got finished with the series of shots but now I am having severe pains on the lower left side of my stomach. My friend who is also my age had them too and is experiencing the same problems. We are both 15 and the only other thing we have in common is the fact that we took the shots recently. We went to the hospital and they did a CAT Scan, UA, blood tests, and a pelvic exam on me and an MRI and blood tests on her and all they could come up with was that it seemed like a pulled muscle. If it was a pulled muscle I would think that it would have stopped hurting after 7 months and there is no way that we could be pregnant which is what a person that my friend asked said because we are both virgins, and I was just wondering if anyone knows if this is a result of the shot and/or if anyone else is experiencing these pains.

Ok I haven't had any crazy adverse effects as of yet but I thought I would post what I am going through with my reaction to Gardasil. I'm 22, received my first shot in Oct.2007 (in my Right arm) and completely forgot to go back for the rest of the series, honest! (I never wrote it down, and since it's kinda up to me to go back on my own, I forgot about it after a week or so.) Anyway, my first shot went pretty well. On the day of the injection, I had no pain after receiving the shot but the next day, I woke up feeling like I had slept on my arm all night. The feeling didn't go away after my morning routine of getting dressed and started to hurt pretty badly. The whole entire day it was difficult to lift my arm and flex the muscles while I was at work but I was told by a friend that she had the same exact reaction when she got her shot of Gardasil. I brushed it off and the next day I was pretty much back to normal! I didn't think twice about it until I went in for my annual this week and they asked if I had completed the series of Gardasil shots yet. (oops) I told them no, and they gave me the shot on Saturday (Nov/1/08) they said there was no reason why I shouldn't continue getting the series but I really HAVE to come back in 2 months (I wrote it down this time)
Anyway, I just figured I would have the same reaction as last time so I asked them to do it in my Left arm this time as I don't use it as much. All of Saturday went by with no real pain at all just like before. I woke up on Sunday expecting to feel like my arm had been run over or something but was pleasantly surprised that the injection site was the only area on my arm that was bothering me! It was a little raised/swollen and kind of itchy so I avoided irritating it as much as possible. Well it's 2:27am on Tuesday and I'm still having these symptoms. In fact, it itches more, is still raised and I feel another small bump very close to the injection site and under the skin. I have to admit that while these symptoms don't appear to be serious, I am a little nervous about how long they have lasted. Reading these posts about such serious adverse reactions to this Vaccine isn't helping much either! I don't know if I want to finish the series now! It seems like a lot of people have had different reactions during a different phase in the vaccine, making it unpredictable. Meanwhile, my friend completed all 3 injections earlier this year with little to no side effects at all! I want to know if this is normal because the only place I've found "itchiness" as a side effect on the Gardasil page is under allergic reactions and accompanied by hives, rash, difficulty breathing, etc. and I have had none of these. I want to ask my doctor about it but when I told her about the pain in my arm last year she said it was normal, so why would she say anything different about itching?

I am 23 and just completed my series of Gardasil. The first shot hurt right away but the pain subsided a few hours later and I had no other reaction. I had the same occurrence with the second shot. I just had the third shot 3 days ago. The day after I had it done I experienced significant pain in my arm, collarbone and shoulder, chest pain, chills, headache, fatigue, stomach cramps, and swelling in my arm. I could barely lift my arm to do anything. I had the same symptoms the 2nd day and today I am experiencing a low grade fever, muscle pain all over, extreme fatigue after plenty of sleep, headache, chest pain and heart burn, swollen glands and throat pain. I am pretty sure this is an effect of this vaccine. If I would have known sooner I would have not finished the series. I would advise anyone out there looking into this vaccine to NOT go through with it. I have an appt with my doctor tomorrow to discuss this.

I'm 14 and I had all 3 of my shots. The first one was fine, but the rest left my arm sore for about 4-5 days. But i'm completely done with them. About 3 months I got all 3 of them I have pebble size white dots on my right arm. They are all in different spots of the places of the injection site. They don't hurt but they are bright white spots.

Hi, my name’s M. and I posted my story on here about a month ago. Unfortunately, I’ve made no progress. I was hospitalized again mid-October for numbness and tingling sensations in my legs, which is a symptom of guillian-barre syndrome and supposedly needs to be treated very carefully. I had an mri of my brain again, this time including my spine to check for possible tumors. I was sent home the next day, negative for guillian-barre, but having received no answers. I was crawling up the stairs by this time, and was too weak to walk without holding on to furniture to support myself. My legs felt like cement blocks, and the neurologist specifically said, “I don’t know why you can’t walk.”
Since then, I’ve developed acute mononucleosis, which increases my fatigue and muscle pain, and causes me to sleep about 15 hours a day. Recent blood work also showed I was positive for an autoimmune disorder called Myositis, which is a painful disorder that causes the body’s immune system to attack its muscles and connective tissue. I was referred to a rheumatologist, who was the least sympathetic person I’ve met in my life, and told me my physical exam was perfect, so she felt the Myositis must have been a false positive. She re-ran the blood work, and the Myositis was negative. This is of course a relief, but how we’ll ever know which test is correct, I don’t know. The rheumatologist did notice the weakness in my legs and my difficulty walking, and suggested physical therapy to help gain my strength back. She also prescribed an anti-inflammatory medication that took away almost all of my pain. Thank God, something finally worked for me. We then saw the physical therapist who said, “We can probably make you stronger, but I’ve never seen anything like this before.”
I’m seeing an osteopathic specialist who is convinced my illness is directly related to Gardasil. Through ancient medicine methods, she introduced a vile of Gardasil to my system and noticed an immediate weakness. I’m not sure if I totally believe in her practice, but the fact that she noticed a rejection to Gardasil the minute she introduced it is enough to convince me. She believes that my immune system was basically poisoned by the vaccine, which is causing it to fight off things I need. She also said it probably doesn’t recognize the mono as an infection, and decides not to fight it. For a normal, healthy person, mono can last up to 3 months. For someone like me, no one knows how long it could last. It was my immune system’s weakness that allowed me to develop mono, and it was the Gardasil that weakened it in the first place. So thank you Merck, for yet another thing I have to deal with.
And that brings us to today. I’ve missed about 30 days of my freshman year, so I’m assuming summer school will be necessary. My high school won’t provide a tutor, so I can only take my core curriculum classes, and am having difficulty keeping up with just those few. I’ve gained some strength in my legs, and it’s a little easier to walk with the anti-inflammatory, but I still can’t walk very far without resting. I’m also taking an anti-depressant to help me focus-hopefully it’ll lift my spirits. Since I received the vaccine, my periods have been painful and irregular. The constant nausea, headaches, and occasional stomach pain/joint pain continues, along with extreme fatigue.
The doctors make me feel like a crazy person who faked this to get out of school. How could I possibly fake nausea for thirteen weeks straight, and pain that kept me up crying almost every night? How could I fake my difficulty walking while it’s causing me to miss both of my volleyball seasons? Before this, I had hardly missed a day of school in my life, and refused to stay home whenever I got the flu because I hate falling behind. I’ve played volleyball tournaments with sprained ankles and chipped elbows, I can handle pain, and I’m not a baby. If the doctors would take five minutes out of their time to try to get to know me, maybe they would see that. And the few who actually take the time to be pleasant don’t listen. They tell you they know, that they understand, but they don’t. They won’t drag themselves out of bed in the morning feeling nauseous and half asleep; they’ll be able to walk into their office without feeling like they want to collapse, and they’ll go home to the people who care about them and will actually be awake long enough to enjoy their company. No one will tell them they’re insane, and the worst part is that most of them won’t take the time to realize how blessed they are just to have the ability to do those things. How can the doctors not have sympathy when they’re the ones who put this poison inside of me?!
I know I’m very lucky compared to girls who have experienced more serious side effects, and am thankful that we were able to make a connection between my illness and Gardasil after the first shot. But I’m living proof of what just one stupid shot can do to you-how can you put yourselves or your daughters at risk of what I’ve gone through? The benefits are not just worth the risk..
My 15th birthday is coming up in just a few weeks, and all I want is to be normal again.

I'm a 25 year old female. I received my first shot August '07. I had noticed an increase of nausea but blamed it on stress. In October '07 I was hospitalized for a week! I had SEVERE nausea/vomiting and horrific pelvic pain, on my right side only. I received the 2nd and 3rd shots, and none of it connected for me until my grandma asked me if all my health problems occurred AFTER the shots began. Since the beginning of the series, I've been in an out of the ER with severe pain and nausea/vomiting. I had an exploratory laparotomy last November. My Ob/Gyn said she found "spots" on my right ovary and under my uterus. She biopsied 1, said it wasn't endometriosis, but gave me the treatment (Lupron) for it anyway to try it out to see it it helped. Lupron effectively shuts down your reproductive system. I was on the therapy for 9 months, and for 8 months I was essentially pain free (yay! right?) But the pain is back now, worse than before. My Ob/Gyn thinks she misdiagnosed me now. Awesome. I'm taking a combination of Indocin, Ibuprofen, Relafen and when I have it, Vicodin, to help with the pain. I stopped the birth control pills, they've been no help. So now its time to try and find a way to fix me. I hope there is a way. I do believe this is all because of Gardasil.

I have been in a serious relationship for 5 years I was on the pill for at 7 years when we got married in June we decided it was time for me to stop taking the pill.. I had my first Gardasil shot and everything was fine just really sore injection site and sore arm. When i went to get my 2nd shot they made me sign all the paper work again to get the shot.. I asked it it was standard procedure to resign these papers and she said no why.. I said because i have done this once and this is my 2nd shot.. She insisted that it was my first. When i got done i asked the lady at the desk and she said she had no record of it and i was like well something is wrong here you may have no proof but i know because remember my arm hurting.. She finally had to call my ins co. to see if they billed me once before.. Lo and behold i was right! I just go t my 3rd shot right about the time my period was going to be here and it has been 2 weeks and I still haven't gotten my period which is really unusual because I am always on time.. I have taken 3 pregnancy all which are negative. However last month my husband and I were really active during that "Window" to get pregnant. I was talking with my mother about it and she said that she had to get a blood test to show that she was pregnant with me.. So i don't know if i need to get blood taken or just think my missing period is because of this damn drug.

This drug nearly killed my 17 year old daughter! She began with injection site soreness followed by headaches and back pain. Then began having seizures after her second injection along with disorientation, and memory loss. Who is Merick, the FDA and CDEC trying to fool? We are seeking legal representation and I would recommend anyone who has had their child mailed by this drug do the same. Our children are not test subjects for pharmaceutical companies!

On October 11, 2008 my 14 year old daughter began to complain of being dizzy, headache, faintness, nausea, vomiting and stated that her heart hurt each time she took a breath. This warranted her being admitted and transferred to a specialized children's hospital. They discovered an inexplicable enzyme (troponin) surrounding her heart muscle which only appears when someone is having a heart attack. All of her echo cardiograms were normal as well as her other blood levels. She was tested for all of the typical high school diseases as well as lupus, etc. She remained in the hospital until Thursday and is now exhibiting an irregular heartbeat pattern. After visiting with her pediatrician since her release, it is extremal possible that this is a side effect of the Gardisil shots that she had this past November - February.

One of my best friend ended up in the hospital about 4days ago when they were giving the vaccine at school everyone was getting sick from it including me u had a high fever n was throwing up two of my other friend felt dizzy and fainted right after receiving the shot. The girl who ended up in the hospital fine bow but she couldn't feel her legs or arms they were bum as she told me at one pibt she stopped breathing and feel to the floor u do not trust the gardasil vaccine after hearing and seeing the damage it could cause, I've decided that I am not going to take the second shot and neither are my friends, I say it's unface and before sending this vaccine out to schools they should be 100 percent sure about them, only in the year 2006 there were 21 deaths from it and over 1000 side effects. They should just be more careful!

Against my better judgment, I received my first shot in Oct 07 and my second in March 08. I will absolutely will not get the third. I was suspicious of the vaccine, but was convinced by my doctor to get it. I should have listened to my gut. Within two weeks of receiving the first shot, I experienced flu-like symptoms, fever, and such severe vaginal discomfort that I went to the emergency room. I was diagnosed with bacterial vaginosis. It cleared up, but my health felt off - worse digestion, I started getting heartburn, feeling fatigue, started seeing floaters in my vision and getting terrible headaches, and my menstrual cycle started becoming more irregular. I had always been like clockwork. I started losing weight, which was unusual, as I had always been overweight and had a hard time losing weight. I began feeling more and more irritable, but made no connections to the Guardasil shot. In March, immediately after receiving the second vaccine, my arm hurt terribly, I felt lightheaded, woozy, and had hives appear. Within 1 week, I started experiencing vaginal irritation again, fever, and had flu like symptoms. Over the course of the next month, I started to feel such severe fatigue, stomach aches, and uncontrollable diarrhea, that I went to my doctor. She told me I probably just had acid reflux. Two days later, I experience debilitating stomach pain, which lasted for nearly 1 month. I had an endoscopy, a CT scan, allergy tests, and blood work for thyroid disorders and other imbalances, all of which have come back reasonably normal and regular for my body and system. I did have some esophageal damage from acid reflux, and was put on Prevacid. Receiving no answers from the Western Medical community, I cut out gluten, corn, soy, dairy, eggs, caffeine, alcohol, yeasts, and sugar from my diet and started working with an acupuncturist and naturopath. Stool sampling showed signs of Candida Yeast overgrowth in my intestines and parasites, which I am combating naturally with help from my naturopath. I a got off the Prevacid successfully with her help, and am starting to feel stronger. However, since January, I have lost 50 lbs, have experienced hair loss, fatigue, eye itchiness, emotional upset, headaches, joint pain, tingling/numbness in hands and feet, lower body temperature, disruption in my sleep, decreased strength, muscle loss, continued gastrointestinal pain, alternating diarrhea/constipation, persistent Bacterial Vaginosis, and have not had my period since I received the second shot in March. While I do feel I am becoming stronger, this road is long and the journey is slow. My health is not what it used to be, my diet is restrictive, and I am taking multiple herbal and natural supplements, vitamins, and probiotics. The appearance of overall, chronic symptoms with the timing of the Guardasil shots makes me believe that I, like so many other women, am a victim of Guardasil. Don't get this vaccine.

First off, I want to thank everyone who has posted on this site. My heart goes out to all of the mothers/fathers who feel lied to by their physician, and to all of the young ladies, like myself, who chose to take this shot in order to protect myself and my partners. I have had two shots and WILL NOT receive my third.

I am a healthy 24-year-old woman who started my GARDASIL shots February 08'. The first shot, no problem. Second shot, wow. I felt like I was literally going to break. All of my joints, muscles hurt and felt very, very weak. I went to bed with a 102 fever, huge swollen glands, sore throat and cold sweats. I called my doctor and she said I "probably had the flu before I got the shot and I was just feeling my illness now.." she dubbed my issue an "coincidence". Well, I believed her because I wanted to. I didn't want to think I put myself in harms way, so I went on.

Well it's been 7 months and I can tell you my memory loss, muscle pain and bouts of depression have been a big issue. These are all things I have never dealt with in the past. Could it be GARDASIL, I'm not 100% sold that it is, but I am not throwing that idea out either.

I am really starting to struggle with the idea that we don't know the long term side effects yet.

Looks like we are all Lab Rats.

In seek of the truth,

Oh my daughter, age 17, had her first injection in June 2008, started losing her hair w/in a month. We thought it was form straightening, some high lightening etc. She had blood work done which showed she was anemic...strange, as 2yrs prior her blood work was stellar, and she had not changed her diet, or physical activity. She increased her iron and protein intake (along w/ supplements).....three months later, and after her second injection, iron was still anemic....worse actually, and her hair loss significant.I found this website last night....and I am floored......I called MERCK today and spoke to a representative wh o was not aware of the hair loss issue, but said that in their case studies, Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia was a side effect.....which leads to hair loss I am researching now what to do next.....anyone else have this issue??????

This is from Merck's website:

Serious Adverse Reactions in the Entire Study Population
A total of 237 subjects out of 25,274 total subjects (9- through 45-year-old girls and women; and 9-through 15-year-old boys) who received both GARDASIL (N = 13,686) and AAHS control (N = 11,004) or saline placebo (N = 584) reported a serious systemic adverse reaction following any vaccination visit during the clinical trials for GARDASIL.

Out of the entire study population (25,274 subjects), only 0.05% of the reported serious systemic adverse reactions were judged to be vaccine related by the study investigator. The most frequently reported serious systemic adverse reactions for GARDASIL compared to AAHS control or saline placebo and regardless of causality were:

Headache ,
Gastroenteritis ,
Appendicitis ,
Pelvic inflammatory disease ,
Urinary tract infection ,
Pneumonia ,
Pyelonephritis ,
Pulmonary embolism .
One case (0.007% GARDASIL: 0.0% AAHS Control or Saline Placebo) of bronchospasm; and
2 cases (0.02% GARDASIL: 0.0% AAHS Control or Saline Placebo) of asthma were reported as serious systemic adverse reactions that occurred following any vaccination visit.
In addition, there was 1 subject in the clinical trials, in the group that received GARDASIL, who reported two injection-site serious adverse reactions (injection-site pain and injection-site joint movement

Systemic Autoimmune Disorders in Girls and Women 9 Through 26 Years of Age

In the clinical studies, 9- through 26-year-old girls and women were evaluated for new medical conditions that occurred over the course of follow-up. New medical conditions potentially indicative of a systemic autoimmune disorder seen in the group that received GARDASIL...includes all subjects who received at least one dose of GARDASIL.

Of the 10,706 who received Gardasil:

120 developed Arthralgia/Arthritis/Arthropathy
4 developed Autoimmune Thyroiditis
10 Coeliac Disease
2 Diabetes Mellitus Insulin-dependent
2 Erythema Nodosum
27 Hyperthyroidism***

3 Raynaud's Phenomenon
6 Rheumatoid Arthritis††
2 Scleroderma/Morphea
1 Stevens-Johnson Syndrome
1 Systemic Lupus Erythematosus
3 Uveitis

6.2 Post-Marketing Experience
The following adverse events have been spontaneously reported during post-approval use of GARDASIL. Because these events were reported voluntarily from a population of uncertain size, it is not possible to reliably estimate their frequency or to establish a causal relationship to vaccine exposure.

Blood and lymphatic system disorders: Autoimmune hemolytic anemia, lymphadenopathy.
Gastrointestinal disorders: Nausea, pancreatitis, vomiting.
General disorders and administration site conditions: Asthenia, death, fatigue, malaise.
Immune system disorders: Autoimmune diseases, hypersensitivity reactions including anaphylactic/anaphylactoid reactions, bronchospasm, and urticaria.
Musculoskeletal and connective tissue disorders: Arthralgia, myalgia.
Nervous system disorders: Dizziness, Guillain-Barré syndrome, headache, motor neuron disease, paralysis, seizures, syncope sometimes resulting in falling with injury, transverse myelitis.

I am Jessica, an 11 year old. I received my 2nd shot last week, and since then I have had severe abdominal pains. I have the urge to vomit, but never do. I then looked up the side effects of Gardasil on Google and only nausea was there, not stomach pains in general. I blamed it on my antibiotics for strep I had taken last month, think it was just kicking in. I am 100% sure that Gardasil caused my stomach pains.

I am a 22 year old, healthy female and received my fist two shots last September. By November, I began to notice my hair falling out, which became more excessive in December, prompting me to receive blood tests for thyroid problems, nutritional imbalances, etc. Everything came back negative and I self diagnosed the problem to be a hormonal imbalance caused by my birth control (which was hard to believe being that I had been on it for two years with no hair loss). I stopped the pill the end of January and my hair loss coincidentally stopped as well. I received my third shot in April, and sure enough the same devastating hair loss began two months later, which is classic with drug induced alopecia (hair loss). I am CONVINCED that Guardasil has caused this devastating reaction that has caused me to loose half my head of hair. It is October and I am still experiencing significant hair loss. This vaccine has caused me nearly a year of emotional turmoil over my thinning hair.

Now, the nurse procedes to tell me that they are so bad that they pill cam that she had to swallow to find them had a hard time even getting through the small intestine because it was so inflamed! I don't know if anyone else has had this problem or if they have found any articles about someone else going through this after the shot, but please let me know if you have, thank you!

i am almost 18 and i got my first shot of gardasil last month, and the day after i got it, i started my period and it was 5 days early and i felt nautious an tired. my period isn't always the same exact day every month, but it's never that far off. I started the 30th of august, and i didn't get my next period until September 8, which was extremely late for me. I was scared i may have been pregnant or whatnot, but i didn't think it was possible. i just prayed and prayed untfor me to start and i finally did. I got my 2nd shot today, and not even 5 minutes after it i felt nautious and dizzy. Ive gotten many shots before and needles don't bother me but the pain after my shot made me want to cry. The nurse told me that it was uncomfortable because the liquid was cold an thats why it hurt. i couldn't move my arm for about 10 minutes after the shot. Now i feel tired, my body aches, my head hurts, and my chest hurts. Im going to tell my mom to take me to the doctor tomorrow because im scared the shot may have caused something to make me sick. I'm re-thinking getting my 3rd shot. If you're deciding whether or not to get this Gardasil shot, I would wait until further research is done on it. If i would have known all the effects girls are having i wouldn't have gotten it.

I'm 18 years old and live in Florida, while at the gynecologist for a routine visit my doctor strongly suggested that I start the Gardasil 3 shot cycle. After checking with my mom (who was unfortunately given biased information from my doctor without first doing research on the product) agreed since we both figured that my doctor would be knowledgeable enough on the subject (or you would think since she was the one administering the drug.) The first two shots went fine and I had no reaction at all. After the third shot (in October of 2007) I woke up the next morning with swollen hands and extreme swelling at the injection spot. I immediately returned to my gynecologist where I was told “there is no possible way you can be allergic to this medication” by my doctor, and that those reactions would go away in a few days. A few days following this I developed sores in the back of my throat and under my tongue, however my gynecologist still insisted there was no possible way it was an effect of the Gardasil (EVEN THOUGH IT WAS THE VERY NEXT DAY) & I had no previous illnesses. Within the week following I developed body-wide hives so severe that I cannot sleep and they affect my breathing. I’ve seen several doctors (allergist, dermatologist, primary physicians, and immunologists) none of which can determine why exactly I have these hives, besides that it is a “drug reaction” (it took 11 vials of blood to determine that). However when one of my dermatologists questioned Merck about it they simply said that there is no evidence and I cannot sew!!! That’s all they cared about! A law suit! WHAT EVER YOU DO, DO NOT GET THIS SHOT, TELL EVERYONE YOU KNOW! It has ruined my life. As an 18 year old girl living in Florida I love to go to the beach however because of these hives they get so severe when I’m exposed to sunlight I can no longer go. It’s also extremely embarrassing when people stare at them since they cover most of my body on a daily basis.

i'm a fourteen year old girl, who has been completely healthy my entire life. about a week or two after i got the gardisil shot, i went on vacation in the outer banks. when i returned i started experiencing severe abdominal pain, feeling nauseated, fatigued, having muscle pains and confusion. i went to my family doctor, who diagnosed me with the flu and gave me antibiotics. days later, i wasn't getting any better so my mom took me to the emergency room where i was put on an iv for dehydration. i was sent home with medicine for the abdominal pain, which gave me no relief. i returned to the emergency room several days later due to the same issues, and was put on an iv for dehydration again. they took blood to test for a bunch of different things, but everything came back normal. i was sent home again, and over the next month i was referred to a gastroenterologist, where i had a CT scan of my stomach, an upper gi/barrium swallow, an upper endoscopy with biopsies, a MRI of my brain, and tests done on my liver and gall bladder, all of which came back normal. i was admitted to the hospital on august 20th, the day i was supposed to start high school. i was put on an iv again, and had liquids dripping in me for about 12 hours. my gastroenterologist seemed to think i was bringing everything on myself and might have a minor case of IBS. the doctor made me talk to a psych, who basically told me i must be stressed and had to be bringing it on myself. the doctor sent me home, telling my parents to force me to go to school. i cried the whole way home from the hospital, no one was even trying to make me feel better, and i hated the doctors for thinking i could bring something like this on myself. i started my first week of high school later than everyone else, i felt completely exhausted and threw up in the bathroom between classes. a day at school takes everything out of me, and i have to spend the next day in bed. my mom and i just saw all these side effects of the gardisil shot and are convinced that's what caused all this. i couldn't try out for the volleyball team, i've lost 14 pounds, i might have to re-do my freshman year because i'm missing so much, i can't hang out with my friends, i can't even go to homecoming and im honestly depressed because of all. this has ruined everything for me. don't let anyone tell you it's all in your head, its not, this is real and its effecting a lot of girls. please think twice before getting the gardisil shot

I've had all 3 shots and 2 out of the 3 times, i felt faint, and a little soreness at the injection site. Now feeling faint with needles is not new for me. I felt faint when i got my belly button pierced, when i get blood drawn, even after having other vaccines such as the Rubella booster shot for my job so i don't think my side effects were linked to JUST Gardasil. I think everyone is different, and have different side effects depends on their health, age, etc. If i had a daughter though, I believe I would just wait it out and let there be more research on the vaccine before I'd let her get it.

I wish I would have read this first, also. I feel so guilty for the pain my daughter is going through right now after I decided to have her get her first Gardasil shot on at her 12 yr old checkup. She has NEVER had more than a cold before in her life - and now she complains of constant abdominal pain, diarrhea, urine with a strong odor (even after drinking plenty of water), headaches, body aches, tiredness and more. I followed up with her doctor and his reply was these symptoms were "absolutely not a side affect of the vaccine." She also had 3 other typical vaccines at that same visit, so although they say "studies show" the Gardasil vaccine does not cause major problems, I guarantee they did NOT study it when it was given with other vaccines. She will NOT have the final 2 shots in the series. All I can pray now is that her pain will go away. PLEASE do NOT take the chance of putting your daughter, and YOURSELF, through all the pain that may arise from taking this vaccine. It is NOT worth it!!!!!

I've been exhausted for the past 2 weeks and I'm getting more than enough sleep. I'm definitely having second thoughts about that next shot, I wish I had read this before. I don't think I would have gotten the shot in the first place!

I received my first shot about a month ago and ever since i have been having severe cramping in my pelvic area! this has never been a issue before and now it happens at least once a day. I do believe that this shot has also caused my period to be several days late so far. I also have been recently getting sudden pounding headaches that will last for hours on end. SERIOUSLY consider your options before you go get the gardisil shot!

I have posted before about my daughter who has developed pancreatitis after getting the Gardasil vaccine. I recently tried something a little unconventional to try to relieve her pain. I know not everyone looks at this the same way, but I will do just about anything to make her better. So, my husband and I decided to try those Kinoki foot pads that you might have seen on T.V. We tried them a couple of weeks ago, and the week before last she had substantially less pain and last week she had little to no pain. Now, I don't know if maybe she just had a few good weeks or if it was from the foot pads that are designed to remove toxins from your body. I just thought I would put it out there, because it might be worth a try. Please let me know if they help or if it's just our situation.

my 12 year old daughter received 2 shots and we noticed a bald spot on the back of her head. A couple weeks later, it is getting worse, she now has at least 3 bald spots. She has very fine hair and is trying really hard to hide the bald spots, 2 in the front of her scalp. I know this is a result of the Gardasil shot. She will not be getting the 3rd shot. All of the doctors recommend this shot. Its only been out on the market a few short years, and i believe more research is needed. My daughter is to the point of tears every morning trying to fix her hair to cover up the bald spots. A dermatologist has diagnosed her with alopecia areata. There are new spots appearing all the time and I am worried that she will lose all of her hair.

I am 20 years old and I had no fear about the Gardasil shot until I received my second shot. I had my first shot July 7, 2008 after my sister-in-law convinced me to have to. She swore by it. After I received the shot I immediately noticed that I was having headaches and nausea. I figured it was just a small side effect so I put it out of my mind. I was known for having migraines also. This was on my mother's birthday, I couldn't enjoy it with her. Later in the week I started becoming very ill and I thought it was due to stress and lack of sleep. I was working a night time job as a manager so the stress was normal for me. On Sunday, July 20, 2008 I went over to a friends house because I was depressed and needed to be with some on when I noticed the I had been getting dizzy. My friends boyfriend was giving me a ride home while he was smoking a cigarette and the smell made me feel very nauseated. I thought I was pregnant because my boyfriend and I had recently broken up not even a month before. After I got home all hell broke loose. I started vomiting. For the next 2 weeks I had been vomiting and I was not able to hold anything down. I couldn't eat and I couldn't drink anything. I was working full time while being sick. I had no energy at all. Finally, July 31, 2008 I was admitted into the hospital. I was complaining of stomach pains and a late period along with the nausea, severe heartburn, and exhaustion. After doing x-rays, blood work, and urine tests they came back and said I was not pregnant, but I was dehidrated. I was on a drip for 4 hours making me late to work. I finally was released from the hospital after lying to them telling them that I was feeling better. I felt worse than before. I went to work that night completely out of my mind because my boss refused to work for me. In weeks to come I started feeling better. I got my second shot September 12, 2008. Once again I immediately noticed a headache and nausea and this time I knew it was from the shot. I still didn't think much of it even after I heard about what the shot was doing to people. I noticed a red mark where the injection site was but I figured it was normal. I went through my weekend without a care in the world when I noticed on Sunday that I wasn't feeling well at all and I was starting to get another headache. This was on my brother's 23rd birthday so I put on a brave face and went through the night. I went to bed early. Last night I was sitting on the couch watching my favoraite show when I noticed I was getting another headache. I didn't want to say anything to my parents because there was nothing they could do about it. Later in the night I noticed my headache was getting worse with a sudden sore throat with no cold symptoms. I once again went to bed early. I woke up this morning with the same sore throat and headache only they were both worse following nausea. I was supposed to take a college placement test, but I had to cancel it for the second time due to being sick from the Gardasil shot. After I did that I came online and looked at possible side effects vs. side effects people are really having. Panicing I called a line called "My Nurse" and spoke with a nurse at my local hospital. She told me that since I am on birth control to try to regulate my period that it might have something to do with my headache. I told her about the times before when I was not on birth control and my hospitalization with the dehydration and headaches and she told me that I was the second person today calling and complaining about a headache after receiving the second shot. She informed me to try to take ibuprofin and if my headache was not gone within the next hour or two to go see my family doctor and ask him about the Gardasil and if I should receive my 3rd shot in January. So far it's been an hour and every time I swallow I feel like I'm going to vomit and my headaches only gotten worse since taking something for it. I will not be receiving my 3rd shot and I suggest to anyone who is getting the Gardasil to carefully consider it before getting it. I was perfectly healthy before receiving the shot and now I'm a mess.

YOU have to get together and fight for change, the big pharm companies are running the show, they just about have diplomatic immunity, they can pass out poison and not be held accountable, change needs to happen, write everyone your congressman, your rep, they are supposed to work for the people.Somebody has to be made accountable.Pharm companies get to police themselves, they are in charge of their own clinical trials,it is a for profit business both for pharm companies and the clinics running the trials, nobody has your best interest at heart only their bottom line.Even the fda gets a bonus...IT IS WRONG

My daughter has been losing her hair (see previous post) and had a full blood workup done, testing for thyroid problems..etc. EVERYTHING came back normal, and her hair is still falling out. She has had 2 of the 3 shots and will NOT have the 3rd. Although I do see re-growth, I do not and will not allow the 3rd shot. I have sent my report to the FDA and will be calling Merck next. This is ridiculous and my heart breaks every time I look at my beautiful little girl. She started high school this year and had to get her hair cut differently just to cover her baldness. Self esteem is shot... and there's nothing that can be done here???? Everyone (including lawyers) seem to turn the other cheek... how sad.

I am a mother of a beautiful 11 year old girl, who was a healthy 10 year old little girl until she got her second Gardasil shot! She received her shot on 1-28-08, and started having nausea shortly after (within a few days). She didn't mention it. Within a few months she started having abdominal pain. She was hospitalized on 4-20-08 with pancreatitis. She got out of the hospital four days later. She was on Morphine while in the hospital and went home with Vicodine. She still had residual abdominal pain for the next few weeks, but the doctor said it was normal. She went to school 2 weeks later and started having severe abdominal pain again. We went to the doctor's office where they found out that her enzymes were elevated again. We then were referred to a gastroenterologist. She has had countless blood test..... negative. She has had an endoscopy, a colonoscopy, many CT scans, fecal tests, and now she will be going in for another endoscopy, but this time she has to take the capsule cam. She was so normal before the shots she was boring, but now she has to miss school on a regular basis ( before she was an honor roll student) and has to miss out on some of the most fun school activities. All the doctors act like she is making it up and they think I'm just some crazy mom that wants to drug my kid. They keep wanting to label her with IBS, but she has no signs of IBS other then the abdominal pain. She now has been on several meds. with no help. She now has joint pain headaches, blurred vision, and she says that she feels weird, with no other way to describe it. I feel like everyone wants to turn the other way rather then to accept that this drug is hurting these girls and focus on treating them.

I know this is tough, tough on the girls and young women that are effected, tough on the parents, and tough on everyone who loves them. Please, just remember that you are not alone! I will fight till I die to try and find out what is wrong with these girls. Just remember that you have options, if you do not want to get your child vaccinated, you can visit ****** and there you can find out what legal rights you have to not vaccinate your children if you don't want to. They have the forms that you need and you can download them there.

I am so sorry for all of you that have been effected by this drug! You will all be in my thoughts and prayers, as always. Just please, spread the word, the more we talk, the more that don't have to be hurt like this. Thank you all so much for sharing your stories! They help more then you know!!!!!!

I'm 18 and i received the 1st injection wen i was 17 in November 2007 and the only side effect i had since, was that my period didn't come...i had my last shot in June n it still hasn't come and i just started college so its been about 3-4 little sister, on the other hand, passed out on 2 occasions after her 1st injection (she just turned 15 by the way n had the injection on her birthday in July). After reading all about recent side effects gardasil has, i wonder why they didn't mention any of the side effects before.

OMG! My daughter is 15 and received her first Gardasil shot in July, perfectly health, very active teenager. Recently we noticed hair loss in the forward part of her scalp. I'm not positive it is from the vaccine but after reading all the postings on this site I will be calling the doctor first thing tomorrow to cancel her 2nd shot - scheduled for 9/18. Thank you all for your comments. I urge other parents to do the same.

Here is our daughter's story, and believe me the tears are pouring down my face as I am writing this.
Our daughter, who had completed her series of 3 vaccinations has been experiencing considerable hair loss. Her first shot was in May 24, 2007, the second on July 26, 2007 and the third and final on November 27, 2007.
Here are the other specifics....our daughter was 13 turning fourteen.
She has had every blood test imaginable to rule out the obvious which may cause hair loss such as thyroid disease, polycystic ovary disease, diabetes, and the list goes on and on. Everything came back negative. We even have a future appointment scheduled with a rheumatologist this coming November 08. We have seen the Endocrinologist and two dermatologists (a scalp biopsy proved negative to any infection, disease, etc. Granted, she had a typical amount of stress during the school year, as any young teen would, but nothing to cause this. Everyday our daughter says to us, "you should see how much hair fell out in the shower today". She's so afraid to brush or comb it because of the extreme shedding. She literally, to date has half the amount of hair she had one year ago. Let me tell you she had beautiful hair. The hair loss is becoming quite visible at the forward part of her scalp. This has been devastating, hair is everything to a teen. (to anyone this is devastating) We must also mention that her periods have been totally out of whack. She went 6 months at one point without one. It finally came back, but it is so sporadic, getting every two weeks, at times extremely heavy, etc...
She also complains of intermitent dizziness. We are reporting this to Merck today (the Co. who makes this horriffic vaccine), along with the FDA. If anyone else is experiencing anything close to what we are, we all need to pull together and make the public aware of what's happening so we can prevent this from happening to our loved ones.
Please share your experiences. Feel free to write me if someone you know is going through this same tragedy.

I have not had any of the side effects yet, but after being raped my doctor highly recommended that I get the shot, so without even considering it more my Mom agreed to it. I've completed the cycle, receiving my final shot a little under a month ago, I believe that it was the 20th or 21st of August. My first shot was sometime in February '08 shortly before my seventeenth birthday.

I did have pneumonia in April, and I'm not sure if that's connected to the vaccine in anyway, but I was usually sick quite frequently with sore throats and a little nausea before I got the shot.

I've had tonsillitis as well and just had my tonsils removed, so I'm really starting to hope even more so than before that I do not get any side effects from this drug.

My heart truly goes out to all of you who have lost someone due to this drug or has someone close to them with brain disorders. You'll definitely be in my prayers.

My daughter went for her yearly physical with our pediatrician. That morning we went in and the doctor insisted that she get immunized. Of course that immunization was Gardasil. My daughter felt fine and she was okay that day. After the doctors appointment she went on to school, and I went on to work to complete what I thought was to be a normal day. That afternoon I picked her up from school and she told me that she thought she may be getting sick. She complained of a stomach ache, and a mild headache. We went home and she ate very little, but told me and her dad that she felt better.
That evening she was to cheer at her first football game of the season in a neighboring town. She left with her best friend and her mother around 6 pm. at 8:44 that night her best friends mom called and told us that she had passed out at the game.
By the time that we had gotten there EMT's had taken her to the local ER, at that time she had barely regained consciousness, and her temperature was 103 degrees. Her extremities were cold, and her body was burning up. Her breathing was shallow, fast and irradic. Her pulse and blood pressure was extremely high. About an hour later the convulsions started.
After what seemed like eternity, the physician narrowed this down to the side effects of Gardasil. They started IV fluids, and meds, but still to no avail she kept convulsing. After a few days of heavily sedated sleep, she awoke to blurred vision, fever and nausea.
We were not told of any adverse reactions to this drug or we would have never given it to her!

Five weeks after my daughter received 2nd dose of gardasil she began complaining of neck pain & stiffness. Fevers accompanied this for about a week. I found her early one morning seizing and foaming at the mouth. By the time we arrived at the er via ambulance she was in respiratory failure and had several seizures. She was intubated and continued seizing repeatedly for several days. She was placed in a medically induced coma for six weeks in hopes of "resetting" her brain to stop seizures, as there was no explanation as to why they started. After coming out of coma seizures continue and still do after one year. She has brain atrophy, gait abnormality, severe behavioral and emotional problems, memory impairment, ticks, numbness to limbs, impulsive uncontrollable erratic behavior, and of course uncontrolled seizures. After several months in hospital and numerous tests there is still no answer. She was perfectly healthy before this vaccine. She also received 3rd dose and was hospitalized again for increased seizure activity. She needs constant adult supervision at all times, falls when seizing, and is unable to carry out simple activities of daily living without reminders and supervision. She is almost fourteen and is living with the mentality of a 5 year old.She has no chance of ever leading a normal life.

Let me start by giving you some history.

My sister is a 22 year old girl who worked full time and was never seriously ill until this summer.

During the last full week of June my sister started having headaches. She told me that these headaches were like none she had ever had before. Days later she started complaining that her legs and wrists hurt. She said that her legs were so tired and achy she could barely walk up the stairs. At that time I dismissed what she was saying. My sister constantly wears heels and I chalked up the complaint to a pair of shoes that were not yet broken in.

By July 4th, the headaches were so intense that she went to urgent care. The physician she saw in urgent care gave her an antibiotic and sent her on her way. By July 7th, she was having difficulty standing up and walking was almost impossible. My sister started complaining about severe joint pain. Her ankles began to swell and her stomach appeared distended.

On July 8th, my sister went to her primary care physician. I believe he sent her for an x-ray and said that she had a cyst on her sinus cavity which was causing her to have severe headaches. He then gave her another antibiotic and referred her to a rheumatologist never even thinking that these two symptoms may be related.

On July 10th, my sister saw the rheumatoid arthritis doctor her pcp referred her to. He dismissed her complaints saying that she probably has some form of arthritis, but that there are over 800 forms and it would takes months to pin point exactly which one she has. He then gave her a prescription for Celebrex and sent her on her way. She spent the entire week in bed because her joints were so swollen and achy that she could not move. She actually crawled to go to the bathroom.

By the middle of the following week, my sister's stomach began to burn. She contributed it to being a side effect of the Celebrex and stopped taking it on July 21st. We had no idea that the pain was so bad. My sister's last normal meal was on July 22. By the 23 she had no appetite and could not go to the bathroom. On July 24, the stomach pain was so bad that she could not work, or sit, or function. All she did was cry. She went back to her primary care physician who then prescribed her prevacid to help with the so called indigestion. He told her if the pain continues she could call him. On July 25th the pain became unbearable. My sister called her PCP as directed and he told her to go to the ER. Never once did he say he would meet her there! I brought my sister to the ER where they did an x-ray and cat scan of her stomach. They found nothing. At that time my sister had not gone to the bathroom or had anything to eat since the 22nd. The physician in the ER said that she was literally "full of shit" and needed to go home and take a liquid laxative. My sister is only 22 and my parents were away on vacation. We were stupid and didn't know any better and were so happy that they didn't find anything that we accepted his findings and got out of there.

My sister took the liquid laxative prescribed by the ER physician as soon as we got home. We waited anxiously for it to relieve her stomach pain. After many hours the laxative did not work and my sister ended up back in the ER. This time she was screaming in pain. One of the doctors there told her that if she couldn't calm down she needed to leave her ER. My sister did just that. At this point my parents (back from vacation) took my sister home and called Digestive Disease. A doctor there told my mom to give my sister 2 Enemas. He said that should relieve her pain. My mother followed the doctor's orders, but the pain did not stop. Sunday, July 27th my sister was right back in the ER - this time at another hospital. This time my sister was admitted to the hospital for severe stomach pain. After 5 days and numerous tests my sister was discharged. The doctors found nothing in her cat scans, x-rays or ultra sounds. The pain was more manageable (she was on morphine every 2 hours) and they said she was ok to go home.

August 1st my sister had a great day. She was sitting up in bed and seemed to be in good spirits. The following day she couldn't get out of bed. This time it was neck pain. My sister said the pain in the back of her neck was so severe that she could not lift her head up or move it side to side. By August 4th she was admitted to the hospital again. This time we brought her to University Hospital in Syracuse, NY. We were sure to get some answers there...or so we thought. As soon as my sister arrived in the ER they started treating her with antibiotics. They were certain she had an infection. They then told us they would have to do a lumbar puncture to check her spinal fluid for infection. We thought we would finally have an answer to what was wrong with my sister, so we agreed. The spinal fluid came back fine - no infection. At that time they admitted her to the hospital. While at University Hospital my sister was treated by a team of doctors. They tested my sister for lyme disease, west nile, lupus, leukemia etc. They performed a spinal tap, cat scans, x-rays, ultra sounds, blood smears, etc. All of these tests came back negative. The doctors could find nothing abnormal except for an elevated white blood count -22,000 (it was also very high during her last hospitalization), an elevated C reactor and a very high SED rate. After 4 days of numerous tests and pain killers (first morphine, then Dilaudid, then Dilaudid with a fentanol pain patch) they discharged my sister. The head doctor told her that he believed she had viral meningitis and that it would eventually work its way out of her system. By this point my mother and I were skeptical. We did the research and viral meningitis should only last approximately 10 days. Mig had been sick since the last week in June. No one was putting all these symptoms together. On the day of her discharge my sister started getting her stomach pain back. The pain was mostly on the left side of her lower stomach - under her belly button. Again she was told the pain was due to constipation and she should buy some Miralax when she got home.

My sister was home for a mere 2 days before she would be hospitalized again...for the 4th time. Her stomach pain was back and worse then before. My family could not believe this was happening. My sisters spirits were down and the excruciating pain was making her mentally unstable. This time the ER physician recommended a hematologist come in to see my sister. We just wanted answers so we agreed. This hematologist, Dr. R stated that she believed my sister had drug induced lupus. We were shocked as my sister was tested for lupus twice before and both times the test came back negative. Dr. R explained that she believed my sister got drug induced lupus from the Gardasil shot. My entire family was shocked. We had never heard of any severe side effects like this from the Gardasil shot. Dr. R asked my sister for her permission to test her again. My sister agreed and a week later my sister learned that she was positive for drug induced lupus. My entire family was so happy that my sister finally had a diagnosis and could begin treatment. We were told that after a 6 week steroid treatment (Prednisone) my sister would be back to her old self. We were ecstatic!

My sister was home from the hospital and on the steriod treatment for 10 days when things started to go wrong again. The doctors were very concerned with the dosage of Prednisone that my sister was taking (80mg. I'm not sure how many times a day). They cut the dosage down in half over the course of a few days to prevent kidney damage and other side effects. Once the Prednisone was decreased, my sister started getting sick immediately. Her forearms were very weak - she could not put any pressure on them. Her shoulders would tingle and she would get shooting pains down her right arm. One of her doctors believed she was developing fibromyalgia and prescribed her lyrica. Shortly after my sister began taking lyrica she started seeing stars. She had double vision and a migraine that would not go away. My mother called her doctor and told him about this. His answer was for my sister to stop taking the Lyrica. She did immediately.

On August 29th, my sister still had a migraine. This was day 3 without a break. She woke up early Saturday morning and began vomiting every 30 minutes. After a few hours of non stop vomiting my mother called her doctor. His nurse practitioner was on call and she told my mother to take my sister to the ER immediately. My mother went back into my sister's room to tell her they had to go back to the hospital and she found my sister having a seizure. My sister has no history of seizures. My mother called 911 and the ambulance came to bring my sister back to the ER...her 5th hospitalization.

Shortly after arriving at the ER, my sister had another seizure. Immediately after the seizure the ER doctor ordered my sister to have an MRI. My sister had one during her last hospitalization only 2 weeks before. That MRI was normal. This one was not. There are lesions all over my sister's brain. The neurologist told us that he cannot believe she does not have permanent damage. According to him there is no oxygen going to her brain. The neurologist also explained to us that her brain looks as though she has been poisoned. He said that her MRI is very similar to an MRI of a patient who has been poisoned with antifreeze. Later I learned that Gardasil has both aluminum and sodium borate (which is in both rat poison and cockroach killer). However, according to the doctor once your brain looks like my sister's all the poison is out of your body. My sister's team of doctors started debating as to whether this could all still be from the Gardasil sister's last shot was on 02/22/08. Some believe that the side effects started off as mild, but since they were left untreated for so long they've turned into a serious neurological problem. They told my family the only way to truly know what is going on is to do a brain biopsy.

Yesterday, my sister was transferred to Mass General in Boston. We were hoping for a bigger hospital, better technology, more seasoned doctors. So far my sister has been treated badly. When my mother told the doctors' about the Gardasil shot and the devastating effects it has had on my sister they dismissed it. When my mom asked the doctors to test my sister for heavy metal toxicity they completely ignored her. I fear that she will never get the proper care.

My 20 year old daughter had her second shot in April, 2007. Within 2 weeks she began to have episodes of nausea, vomiting and stomach pain. We have made numerous trips to the ER as she is unable to keep any food down for several days at a time. As I write this she has been admitted to the hospital for the 2nd time as they could not stop the vomiting with the usual IV meds in the ER. She has been diagnosed with gastroparesis which means that her stomach does not contract properly to digest her food. She has been following a special diet for the past year, but still has these episodes. It has put her entire life on hold. The doctors cannot explain what caused this condition in her, however, I am convinced that it is the Gardasil

Hi, my name is Hannah and I am a senior in college. At the age of 19, I was diagnosed with epilepsy. I was a sophmore in college at the time, had a job, and was a completely HEALTHY girl. I have been living with the disease for two year now, and my doctors still can't come up with the cause for my seizures. Recently my sister called me to ask if I had received the gardasil shot, because on CNN talk radio that people were starting to think that the garasil shot might be linked to paralysis, seizures, and even death. I immediately called my OBGYN to ask the dates in which I had received my shots. My first dose was given on Oct.17, 2006. I had my first set of seizures on Nov. 24, 2006. WOW...I was in shock. I feel like I now have an answer for the cause of my illness. I talked to my Neurologist about this and he said we will have to wait until more research is done. I am convinced that Gardasil was the reason for my epilepsy. I am so sad to think that other girls are going in to receive a vaccine that is suppose to help their lives, and instead they could have crippling side effects that never go away. I can no longer drive, I had to choose between school and a job, and now I have to plan my day around taking my medicine. All because a drug company wanted to make some money before their completely researched their product.

I have already posted my side effects to Garasil previously...I have severe alopecia. This started over a year ago and is getting progressively worse. I just wanted to take a minute to urge all of you to do TWO things.

1) Submit your side effects to the FDA Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS); here's the link:

2) Call & report this to the MERCK National Service Center: 1-800-NSC MERCK (8am - 7pm ET)

Thank you for taking the time to do this, I know that it can be time consuming; but maybe we can prevent someone else from having the same miserable experience.

My daughter had her first shot on Thursday three weeks ago. Starting that weekend she started with a headache, then nausea, vomiting, body aches and fever. This lasted for 5 days. Then followed by a severe headache for another 4 days. It also increased her period from 4 days to 9 that month. The doctors office who gave her the shot told me "that it wasn't from the vaccine", to make an appt. with a GYN ! I guess I need to be looking for another doctor !

I don't have a side effect to post THANK GOD. I want to thank all of you for posting your comments. These comments help people like me make more informed decisions. Our Doctor strongly encouraged my husband to have our 3 daughters receive this vaccine. I am so glad he waited to ask me - I have long been angry at the Government insistent on vaccines that don't seem necessary. In any case my research landed here along with a web site from a law firm looking for more more victims in the class action law suite they are waging. Many of you should call them. Also, a news article that was shocking on the subject. In this day and age any medication or vaccine should be researched on line with a buyer beware attitude - NOT through your doctor!!! I have seen many cases of drugs that cause side effects that doctor's and laboratory's say couldn't possibly happen.

In all honesty Im terrified my parents made me get the shot i got it about 1 year ago completing the cycle of 3 shots and I am hoping to god i don't get any side effects. I am 15 years old and after my first gardasil shot i began my period I don't know if this was due to the shot or not at the time i was 13 so i just hope that they pull this vaccine from the market it is destroying peoples lives and IS NOT WORTH THE RISK! THERE IS LITTLE GAIN AND SO MUCH AT STAKE I ADVISE NO ONE TO RECEIVE THIS VACCINE NO MATTER WHAT YOUR DOCTOR SAYS PLEASE JUST WAIT UNTIL THEY HAVE MORE RESEARCH DONE ON THE VACCINE DON'T MAKE YOUR DAUGHTER GET THIS VACCINE IT MAY RUIN HER LIFE 30 YEARS FROM NOW JUST PLEASE, DON'T.

this might help anyone who is looking for more information. This site is trying to get the FDA to investigate more into this drug:
Under the "documents uncovered" area, it lists SEVERAL woman who have been hospitalized from this shot from Jan. 2008. Very scary stuff.

also, a post the one of my friends sent me from a news story:

10 deaths have been linked to Gardasil since September 2007, and there have been 140 reports so far this year of serious side effects such as miscarriage and Guillain-Barré syndrome.

Well. We’ve already lost 18 girls, some as young as 12, in the effort to spare them from the mere possibility of cervical cancer later in life. Others have developed debilitating and potentially life-threatening ailments within weeks of being vaccinated, and others still have had spontaneous abortions or given birth to babies with birth defects.

Also consider this: Cervical cancer usually develops in your late 20s to mid 30s. The protection period of Gardasil is estimated to be 5 years. That means, if you receive your first set of shots when you’re 10 years old, you’d need at least 2 to 4 additional booster shots to make it through your 30s. And THAT means you’ll have to expose yourself to the potential side effects of Gardasil over and over and over again.

But now to the real clincher, and I want you to read the following section as many times as you need to let this truly sink in…

U.S. statistics show there are 30 to 40 cervical cancer cases per year per one million women between the ages of 9 and 26, which is the age bracket that Gardasil targets (and was tested on).

According to Merck, Gardasil was shown to reduce pre-cancers by 12.2% to 16.5% in the general population. So, instead of ending up with 30 to 40 cases of cancer per million, per year, in that age bracket, the HPV vaccine can potentially bring it down to 26 to 35 cases of cervical cancer.

What that means is that you would have to vaccinate one million girls to prevent cervical cancer in 4 to 5 girls.

Further, about 37 percent of women who develop cervical cancer actually die from the disease, so vaccinating ONE MILLION girls would prevent 1 to 2 DEATHS per year, at the bargain-basement price of $360 million per year, plus potentially lifelong suffering for an untold number of women, which has no price tag.

I am 31 years old. I have HPV. I got it when I was young I have 4 kids. I have never really had any problems from HPV. I do worry about the risk of cancer so I get my pap-smears. I had warts one time 2 was it and they went away on there own my doctor said that I did not need to treat them if I did not want to, that was over 10 years never had any more. My daughter is 13 and I have never even thought about getting her the vaccine, the thought of law makers telling me I have to makes me mad! I never did trust it and knew there would be problems it sounds like the CURE is worse then the disease! Just be careful what you decide to do. Don't buy in to the fear.

I am 18 years old and was considering getting the gardasil shot and even had an appointment set for today. However, after reading about all these side effects, i immediately canceled the appointment and plan to not get this shot unless it is restudied and perfected. My heart goes out to all of you suffering from side effects of gardasil. I was shocked to see how many of you said that the doctors told you "to not worry about it" or immediately said "gardasil was not connected." It is eerie and terrifying that the caretakers of this time are so quick to brush off the serious possibility of a new glorified vaccine not being as miraculous as advertised. I hope your situations improve. Please post on this website

so the FDA will investigate.

Hi, my gynae had given me a prescription to get the Gardasil Vaccine, because my boyfriend was diagnosed with genital warts and after my smear I was clean from any virus, so my doctor prescribed me with this vaccine to keep me protected from the HPV disease. After reading all these stories about this vaccine, I don't think im gonna go for it. It is sad to read that all these young lives have been destroyed due to this vaccine. I am from South Africa & this vaccine is new here. A lot of people are uneducated about HPV & Gardasil. I have only heard of HPV now. I am 22 and I'm glad to have stumbled upon a website like this. There is a desperate need for awareness. So is there any other way I can protect myself besides using the vaccine? I'm scared my boyfriend passes the virus onto me and what could he do?

My daughter had her first Gardasil shot in June. She started to have severe pain on her right side. Doctor diagnosed bladder infection. After 3 days of antibiotics ended up in emergency room due to severe pain in her right side. They did a ct scan and found a tennis ball sized cyst on her ovary. They thought her pain was from the cyst so she ended up having surgery to remove it. While they were in there they found endometriosis. So now we are working on a treatment plan. They gave her a shot of Depo Provera. She got her period while on vacation and the pain was so severe that she ended up in the hospital again. Her pain is being caused by the endo and is so severe it is debilitating. She had regular pain before with her periods, never anything like this. Another problem she is having is severe pain on both of her hip bones. My daughter was a normal, healthy teenager before this now they want to suppress her periods until she is ready to have children. I can't help but think this is due to the Gardasil.

I don't have any side effects to post, rather my experience thus far and my fear for my next couple shots. I had my first shot in June 2008 and the only side effect that I experienced was soreness in my arm that extended from where the shot was given down to my fingers. That said, I have not had the next 2 shots and after reading various websites on this vaccination....I don't think I'm going to. However, does anyone know if there are side effects to NOT finishing the 3-shots? Can you stop in the middle and be fine?

My girlfriend completed her first two shots earlier this year with minor side effects (nausea, fatigue, nothing major.) Upon completing her third shot last month, she has been vomiting frequently and unexpectedly. She had major issues with insomnia, and she has been experiencing severe nosebleeds almost daily, in addition to constant nausea. Her last period came over two weeks later than expected. She has been extremely tired and had been diagnosed with mono, but after reading these side effects, it's exceedingly clear that these are all effects of the gardasil shot!
Gardasil is clearly an extremely dangerous treatment. There is minimal evidence that it works, and thousands of people have fallen severely ill to this "miracle drug". You do the math.
Don't force it upon yourself or your daughter, as gardasil is HARMFUL.

After having the third shot I noticed my hair began falling out (July 2007). It is now over a year later and after having numerous blood tests, visiting a dermatologist and doing tons of research, I have concluded that gardasil must be causing this. My hair continues to fall out, I have bald areas around the crown of my head and my mood is very depressed by this. I also experienced soreness in my legs and joints but these are not constant. My periods also are out of whack. They can be between 28-50 days apart. I would not recommend anyone getting this vaccine. I wish my OBGYN had not sold me on it. I was 31 when I got it but she said age didn't matter, she said one day insurance companies would cover this vaccine for all women no matter what age they are. I paid $190.00 a shot and now I have a thin head of hair that may one day soon be bald if it doesn’t stop falling out. I think they should take this vaccine off the market. If anyone else has had severe hair loss, has it stopped falling out after a certain point?

EVERYONE PLEASE READ!!!! GARDASIL HAS DESTROYED MY LIFE! I am 24 years old and a year and a half ago I was graduating college and planning to be a professional dancer and go to law school...I was perfectly healthy and energetic! In February of 2007 I received my first Gardasil shot. After a few days I started to feel as though I had a Urinary Tract Infection and was also feeling more tired than usual. The doctor gave me an antibiotic and sent me on my way.

In May of 2007 I received my second Gardasil shot and yet again, a few days later I started to feel like I was getting another Urinary Tract Infection. I went to the doctor numerous times between the second and third shot...all for bladder and urinary tract pain. For months I was on different antibiotics and they were not making the pain go away. After visiting a number of urologists, I found out that the urine cultures had all been coming back negative - showing no sign of an infection, so the antibiotics were pointless. All tests that I had run, both blood and urine came back normal. It is not standard procedure for a doctor to call you if your test results come back normal, but there was clearly something wrong, so I searched for a urologist who would believe me that I wasn't making up the pain I was in.

In August 2007, I had a cystoscopy done (they took a scope and went into the bladder to look in the bladder wall) and they concluded that I have an incurable bladder disease called Interstitial Cystitis. This is a condition where there becomes a defect in the bladder wall causing it not to have the protective mucus layer inside of it. The pictures of inside my bladder show red, raw skin, obviously showing the severity of my case of it.

There is no evidence as to what causes Interstitial Cystitis, and there is no proven successful way of treating it. The initial signs are exactly the same as a Urinary Tract Infection (painful bladder spasms, painful urination, body aches and back pain). The main difference is the fact that it is not an infection. There are thousands of people with Interstitial Cystitis who are misdiagnosed as having chronic Urinary Tract Infections.

I received my third Gardasil shot in October of 2007 and that is when EVERYTHING fell apart. The bladder pain became constant and there has not been one minute in a day since that shot I have not been in unbearable pain. This is when everything else in my body began to crash down as well. The other health problems and side effects from the Gardasil that I am having are constant sore throat, vicious migraines, vision changes, back pain, body aches, joint pain, sinus problems, vomiting, constipation, dizziness...I could keep going on forever!

I have tried all of the conventional treatment for Interstitial Cystitis and have gotten NO relief from the pain and other side effects. The doctors didn't know what to do, so they put me on OxyContin and a diet consisting of no acidic foods. That has now posed its own set of problems seeing as now my body is addicted to the narcotic, and I have gone from 5'6'' 125lbs to 100lbs over the course of a year due to the diet. I am extremely malnourished and have to take B12 vitamin shots once a week due to the severe anemia. I am 24 years old, and feel like I am 100. I can not live a normal life, I am going to lose my job from numerous absences, I lost my fiancé and am not able to have an intimate relationship anymore, I am extremely depressed, I have to have my family clean my apartment because I am too sick to do it, I can not do social activities because I am too tired and in pain. This vaccine has DESTROYED my life! I am desperately seeking out someone else who is having bladder problems due to the Gardasil so that I can contact an attorney. This needs to be OFF the market a soon as possible so that it does not run any other lives! Gardasil has caused some deaths, but in my mind, I'd rather die than live with the pain I am having. I did notice there are some posts regarding girls getting urinary tract infections... PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE have your urine cultured because there is a good chance it may be Interstitial Cystitis!

I am desperately looking for someone who is having some of these symptoms so that I can go to a lawyer and get something going before things like this happen: Numerous states are pushing to make it mandatory that girls receive the vaccine before they enter the 6th grade. We can not let this happen! We all need to stick together and somehow fight this and get out lives back!

Let me know if you are IN - and also what you thought about my post!

You can email me at ******

Bless All of You!

After having the 2nd shot I now get my period every 3 weeks and suffer intense pains all around the pelvic area. they are that severe that they stop me from being able to walk even 5 steps, I have to take 4 pain killer tablets so I am able to get out of bed when my period arrives. This has happened every month for the last 3 months since I had the 2nd shot.

It is my opinion that the pharmaceutical companies are experimenting with our daughters. There is no reason for anyone to get this shot. However, people have "bought into the idea" that they need it because of all the advertising by big pharma. The shot is good for one thing: the pockets of big pharma. These vaccines have not been proven safe. I will never let my daughter get this shot. God bless and good luck to everyone who is suffering at the hands of the pharmaceutical companies.

I got my 1st gardasil shot about a week ago. I am currently having my period and have such severe cramps I can barely move. I did not know if this may be related to the shot, which is why I looked up this forum, and am astounded by what i've read. Right away there was intense pain at the injection sight for several days, so much as that when I would turn on that side while sleeping, it would waken me from the pain. For the past 3 days (since I have gotten my period) I am having terrible cramps, no appetite (bc i feel like i am going to throw up), unusual bowel movements (diarrhea/constip.), and am very dizzy. I have also been pretty irritable but that could be from stress/lack of sleep. After reading this, I will not be getting my second shot. I will give an update if any more problems arise (God help me, I am terrified!)

19 years old; got first shot 09/04/07; became ill on 10/06/07, but did not suspect Gardasil; got second shot on 10/30/07. Symptoms: severe acid reflux, vomiting several times a day (every day for 9 weeks), motion sickness, dizziness, ear pain, recurring nausea, severe abdominal pain (especially just before and during menstruation), diarrhea (several times a day), extreme fatigue, weak/achy legs, muscle tenderness throughout the body, recurring headaches, intermittent back pain, weight loss of 25 lbs in 9 weeks. It was is if she had been poisoned. Unable to function; missed classes and had to resign from part-time job. Underwent numerous medical tests; all were normal. Tried several different medications; none were effective. Doctors believe she had an autoimmune reaction to the Gardasil vaccine. After 9 weeks, she recovered on her own. Thank God, she did not get third shot!!! Residual problem as of 08/08: extreme abdominal pains, cramping, and nausea each month during menstruation. Keeping our fingers crossed that there are no future complications.

19 year old daughter had shot in may, experienced severe soreness at the injection site, nausea, fainting, lethargy and irritability. Holly continued to complain of general malaise and achy joints. Holly had her 2nd shot in July and left for College in August. When she visited for Thanksgiving break in November, she experienced her 1st known grand mal seizure. We did not get the 3rd shot of the series. Since then she has had several more seizures and was put on anti-seizure meds which at this time are working well. Holly continues to complain of "brain fog" which was present after the first shot and has yet to resolve. She is still irritable, which makes the situation she is dealing with concerning the seizures and the restrictions that she had, almost impossible to deal with.

My 11 year old niece has developed (fibroid?) cysts in her breasts, and they say one is the size of a golf ball. She and her sister had said they really didn't think they had had any side effects from the Gardasil, and of course, the doctors say there is no connection. However, she has always been healthy, and these have only developed AFTER the administration of Gardasil.

How many must be harmed before the FDA stands up to the greed of Pharmaceutical companies and all of their human experiments?

i had the first shot in May of 08 i don't remember having any symptoms then but after my second shot in July I have experienced nausea, vomiting and weight loss. the weight loss is probably due to the fact that almost everything i eat i can not hold down or finish because i am constantly gagging and sometimes leads to vomiting. i am as of today 106lbs 5'5"and i am 23 yrs old. i haven't weighed this much since elementary/middle school. I WILL NOT RECOMMEND GARDASIL TO ANYONE AND I HAVE ALREADY CANCELED MY APPOINTMENT FOR THE 3RD SHOT.

My 17 yr old daughter received her first Gardasil on April 17,08 with only pain at the injection site on June 16th 08 she received the 2nd within days she started complaining of severe headaches and eye pain so I scheduled a routine eye exam thinking that her glasses may need to be updated. After her exam her optomatrist called me intot he room telling me that she had severe swelling of her optic nerve and scheduled her for an MRI before we could get that done she went to the ER for severe pain in the eye and headaches there they did the MRI and it was normal no tumors or anything that would cause such headaches. On July 3 she called me from work asking to be picked up because the pain was so bad she could not function at all she was weak, dizzy and overall just not feeling good. I took her to the ER again where they performed a spinal tap and tons of bloodwork and admitted her for pain control on July 5th she had a 2nd spinal tap and every day more bloodwork was performed so far ALL tests ran have come back normal. She was in the hospital 5 days. She seen her ophthalmologist a week after being released and we talked to her about the Gardasil and she felt there was enough "coincidence" to have my daughters pediatrician file a adverse reaction form. That has been done and my daughter has learned to live with the pain since nothing seems to help it anymore. Also the last 6 weeks she has had bad insomnia and nose bleeds.

I'm having the same issues with my doctor not believing me that its the Gardasil. I am a very healthy person, but a few days after receiving the shot I started with these symptoms:
- severe nausea
- severe dizziness
- hot and cold flashes
- stomach problems
- feel faint & weak

I went to my doctor and she said I was having panic attacks! Why would I still feel sick for days at a time if it was panic attacks. I'm still feeling sick now and its been just over two weeks since I got the 1st shot. Does anyone know how long it stays in the body?

I have had all three of my Gardasil shots, starting in September 2007, November 2007 and then February 2008. I felt slightly ill after each one, came down with what felt like the flu but went away after a couple of days. My periods changed completely however. I'm 24 and have regular, monthly menstruation since I was 10, without a change in flow or length of the period. Since taking the vaccination, I had terrible cramps, delayed periods, and very heavy flow for the six months and a few months after that. Since then, my period has become very light and irregular and I have started growing abnormally dark facial hair as well increased hair growth overall (hirsutism). My skin has become very thin and breaks and bruises easily, and I have developed adult acne which I never had as a teenager. I don't have PCOS so I'm not sure if the two are linked, but nothing else has changed in my lifestyle over the past year so please do let me know if you have experienced anything similar.

I had a small lump in my arm after my first two shots which lasted about two weeks each. After my third shot, four weeks ago, I had a small lump again. It was just like the others until 3.5 weeks after the shot. Now it is increasing in size and marked with a bruise. It is very sore and painful to touch. Even if my shirt sleeve is resting on in, it hurts. Has anybody else experienced this side effect? My doctor said not to worry, but I am!

well this is my first time hearing about these conditions. i was just aware of it by my mother when i told her ive had these lympth nodes by my pelvic area for about a month which is a month later after my last injection of the gardasil shot. throughout my entire injections ive nevered experience any sie affects not untill my last injection but my side affect are the lympth nodes. the story my mother had told me was about a girl around my age(16) who had gotten paralyze from the injection once she discover her lympth nodes but difference with her and i,she had soo much pain frm themas in pain to walk maybe swelling had occurred. As i read through all the articles of women and teens had experience such horrible side affects from this injection i have came to realize after my second shot ive myself experience hair loss an as of right now my hair is so thined out that when i pick up my hair there bald patches in th front but question is could this be a gardisil disaster? see i didn't worry much about it due to family memeber will constantly tell me no more hairspray or anything and let my hair down because too much of all of it could be the cause of my hair falling out. but till this day i am still losing an enormous amount of hair even after my injections of the shot. should i be worried or should i wait it out as i was??

I'm a 15 year old girl who has been having periods regularly for the past three years. A few months ago, I went into the doctor to get my first Gardasil shot. I was due to get my period a few days after that. And now, I am due to go back for my next Gardasil shot in about a week..It has been four months sense I had a period. My mother has decided to make an appointment for me to find out why my menstrual cycle has suddenly disappeared. We think it may have something to do with the Gardasil shot, but the nurse we talked to on the phone said that this was unlikely, and I should come to the doctor to find out the cause of my mysterious missing menstrual immediately.
I beg you not to get these shots yourself, nor force them upon your children. I'm not sure whether to hope that it is Gardasil that is causing me these problems, or that it isn't. All I'm sure of is that I'm not taking the risk with the next two shots.
I'm desperate for answers and something to fix my problem.

My daughter is 15 and on Thursday June 5, 2008 she received her second shot of Gardasil. A couple of hours later she complained of difficulty breathing. I took her to the ER where the doctors made me feel like I was crazy to think it was a reaction to the Gardasil shot. They said she might have asthma. They gave her a Nebulizer treatment that didn't help and sent her home with a prescription for Albuterol which too did not help. I took her in to see her Primary care doctor who said the same thing, it could not be the shot and diagnosed her with Bronchitis. She has no signs of bronchitis, no wheezing, cough or phlem. I then took her to see an allergist who again said the same thing, not the shot. He to said she may have bronchitis. They have given her 4 types of medication and none of them have helped. Today is day 10 and she continues to have difficulty breathing. Is there anyone else out there with these same symptoms?? If so I would really appreciate and advise you can give..

i had the first shot in December 2006 and the next day i woke up with a headache, fever but not a high one, nausea, vomiting and cough body aches. we called the doctor to ask if it was related to gardasil, and she said it wasn't the vaccine but it was that i was getting sick already. but since that time I've been having nausea and vomiting and i've been missing a lot of school because of the vomiting. I've been seen by a doctor who specializes in the stomach and he thought i had acid reflex. and i got 3 different medication and it didn't help. i also had a ultra sound and endoscope biopsy. and the doctor said theirs nothing wrong. I still continue with nausea everyday and sometimes it gets worse and i start vomiting.

Have any of you posted your information on the FDA website? I was telling my son about some of the experiences I've heard and he told me that the FDA ignores anecdotal evidence UNLESS it is posted to their website and that as few as 90 such stories will prompt an investigation.

So, obviously it is very important to go to their website and report these problems. I was concerned after hearing from someone who had been in intensive care for several weeks and treated for toxic shock syndrome and who told me she had met another girl in our area at the hospital who had nearly the same experience after receiving the Gardasil vaccine.

I received my 1st shot last year and received my last one this morning. Around the time I got my first one, I had lost some weight but since I began the shots, I've lost more weight. My mom said I lost all the weight after Gardasil but I'm not trying to blame it since I'm not sure yet. And I've been real stress lately, I get mad easy, take everything defensively, and i'm not happy as much. Could this be due to Gardasil?

I received my first shot of Gardasil in January 2007. It could have started sooner, but about a month later my hairdresser noticed a bald spot in the back of my head. I rushed back to my ObGyn and asked her if the Gardasil could be the cause as nothing else had recently changed. She said that she had not heard of this, but she referred me to a dermatologist. I asked him if my hair loss had anything to do with the Gardasil. He replied that I had Alopecia areata and one thing had nothing to do with the other. He advised that I continue with the Gardasil and that he would start treating me for the alopecia. I wish that I would not have listened. I don't know what would have happened if I had stopped then, but I didn't I proceeded with the treatment to the end now over half of my head is bald!!!
I don't know what to do. I keep going back to the dermatologist for treatments for the alopecia, but it just keeps getting worse.
If anyone has had a similar experience and would like to share or has found some other treatments that work, please post a reply.

I received my first Gardasil shot on May 5, 2008 and about two days later I began to notice I was losing a lot of hair. I didn't fret because I had just gotten done taking finals and had been stressed to the max. I figured it was just my body responding to the stress. I have a lot of hair so it didn't phase me one bit. A week progressed and I would lose gobs of hair when I took out my hair band, brushed my hair, washed my hair, dried my hair. Now May 17, 2008, nearly 2 weeks later, my hair is half of what it used to be. I am freaking out. When I say I have lost alot of hair, I mean I can ball up the amount that comes out after a typical shower and it is about the size of a golf ball. I have not introduced anything new in my diet, nothing has changed, and I am not stressed. I am convinced this is due to Gardasil. Has anyone else experienced hair loss? If so, for how long? I am really scared.

Hi. I am so sorry to read your story. My 17 year old daughter’s story is similar. She had her second Gardasil vaccination during the end of January 2008. During the month of February and March, she had abdominal problems. Beginning on March 30th, she had seizures. She had a CT of the head, MRI of the brain, EEG, 24 hour EEG and as I type this note, she are in the epilepsy center at Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia and the doctor just came in to tell me that every test is coming back normal and that my daughter is having “stress” seizures. My daughter has no more stress than any other 17 year old girl does.

I related to the doctor my thoughts pertaining to Gardasil and I feel as though he has dismissed my idea.

I have found some many stories similar to yours and my daughter’s but I believe because Gardasil is so new, nothing is coming out yet about it.

If anyone has any other information, please advise!! We are desperate here in Philadelphia.

With my first Gardasil vaccination I had a good deal of pain, comparative to a Tetnus shot. It lasted almost a few weeks before the area wasn't sore. The second round hurt much less but I also had a fever with aches, pains and chills. This lasted a day or so. The third shot was sore for a few days and left a good size lump in my arm around the injection site for a few weeks.

I got the first Gardasil shot in the middle of April...was supposed to start my period around the end of the month but still have not gotten it. I have spotted a couple of times but never for more than a few hours. This is something completely new to me as my periods are always regular.

I got my second gardasil shot on March 25th, and was supposed to start my period two days ago. After the first shot i dont remember having any real side effects, but after the second i had a hard spot at the injection site that eventually went away. My stepmom (who's a nurse) told me they didnt give me the shot in the right area, but that nothing was wrong. I thought i might be pregnant and took a pregnancy test that came out negative. I've been freaking out until i thought it could be from this shot because normally my periods area really regular. I hope im not pregnant :(

My Daughter has been ill since Feb 4, 2008. Here are her symptoms. Rash on head neck and chest, low grade fever, almost daily vomitting, nauseau, low grade fever, kidney issues, severe abdominal and lower back pain. All tests have been negative, hospitalized twice.

I sent just a local email out to a few contacts talking about the symptoms, girls in our community Papillion, NE are suffering from similar side effects. How can we stop this from hurting other children?

I had my first gardasil shot almost 2 months ago, and I still haven't gotten my period. I am not on the pill, but there is no chance I am pregnant, I am not stressed, so I can only assume it is the gardasil. However, I have had the PMS symptoms (moody, slight depression)

I have created a group on Yahoo to talk about the side effects of Gardasil. If you or a loved one has had the vaccine and has experienced side effects, please come and tell your story.

I received the vaccination Tuesday at 9:30 am, and i was nausea with a headache all day yesterday. Now it is 7:30pm on Wednesday and I still feel nausea, still have a headache and on top of that I am fatigued. I have taken 2 excedrin, and 6 motrin since the headache's began. My body is always extremely receptive to headache medicine, but not this time. I asked the nurse if that was a common side effect, and her response was "No, it's mind over matter." I laughed and then she said "Did you eat breakfast?" I said "I had a granola bar." Her response was, "Aw good you'll be fine; I haven't had the shot since my age exceeds the recommended age range, but you'll be just fine." I am really nervous :( :( They say what the vaccination protects you from surpasses any of the side effects by far, but I don't know my whole body feels out of balance after just one dose...I appointments for 2 more...

My daughter started the 1st Gardasil shot in mid July. By the beginning of August she had a lot of health problems. She had a rash all over her face, neck and chest. Her face was so swollen that she couldnt hold her eyes open. She had protein in her urine that couldnt be explained. Shes constantly complaining of a head ache, stomach ache, joint pain and fatigue. She has finished the shots. I didnt make the connnection until I loooked back at my calendar and saw the dates for the shots. I wish I had never consented for her to have them now.

After first injection I noticed a large cyst-like area where the injection site was. It was still hard when I went in for the second shot. Now after the third and final shot which I received over a month ago, I now have a pimple with a head and a larger hard area that is quite painful where the injection was given.

after receiving my first Gardasil injection, my period was a few days late and when it finally did come, it was incredibly light and only lasted 2 days. Normally it is heavy and lasts a good 7-8 days. Could it be the Gardasil??

After receiving my second vaccination I discovered pimples on my scalp, followed by hair loss. This condition is still reoccurring eight months later. Although doctors say this has nothing to do with Gardasil, it happened almost immediately after the second injection.
