The swine flu vaccination programme in the Isle of Man has suffered a setback.

A member of staff at Noble's Hospital became ill shortly after receiving the vaccine.

It's understood this could be a rare side effect of the jab.

The case led to some appointments in the vaccination programme, which started on Monday, being suspended.

However, the health authorities say they are reassured after taking advice from the Swedish Medical Protection Agency which has reported similar problems.

The swine flu vaccinations will continue as planned on Monday.
