Something else you seem to have missed (all references are below).

"No autism link" author Eric Fombonne is paid by drug companies sued in the USA over ....... yes, you guessed it ....... autism caused by mercury in vaccines.
By surprising coincidence this is the very topic of his paper you reported on.

But there is more .......

until now Eric had published not one single medical paper on autism caused by mercury in vaccines.
his 94 papers published since 1983 are listed below from the US National Library of Medicine Database
but now Eric is an instant expert on mercury in vaccines once hired in the US mercury litigation
so now - what a coincidence - he adds in to his papers "No mercury link" as well as "No autism link"

It is amazing what new interests people can develop where money is concerned. This is where Eric says he has been hired by the drug companies (and I think Eric meant to say "not directly" regarding funding):-

"Since June 2004, Dr Fombonnehas been an expert witness for vaccine manufacturers in US thimerosallitigation. None of his research has ever been funded by theindustry."

If you pay Eric to advise on fishing - will Eric write the paper saying there is no evidence of a link between fishing and water?
