[2013 Jan] Why can't we know the truth about a strike that happened 40 years ago?  Des Warren, another organiser and close friend of mine who received three years in prison – the harshest sentence of all – was regularly made to drink the "liquid cosh", a cocktail of tranquillisers that numbed inmates and gave you the hundred-mile stare. Dezzie died in 2004, of what his wife describes as "drug-induced Parkinson's" – and we're still fighting to see his prison records to prove the link between his death and his treatment in prison. The imprisonment and sustained intimidation destroyed families and communities.

Welding rods  The normal use of manganese welding rods releases toxic fumes ..... Exposure can trigger the onset of debilitating conditions such as manganism or manganese poisoning or Parkinson's Disease, lung cancer, kidney disease, and acute metal poisoning. Fumes emitted during the welding of older, paint-covered metal can pose additional dangers.

OBJECTIVE: To determine the relative contribution of various risk factors to the development of Parkinson's disease (PD). METHODS: Ten variables that were independently associated with PD in a health system population-based case-control study of epidemiological risk factors for the disease were jointly assessed. Stepwise logistic regression, adjusted for sex, race and age was used to develop a multiple variate model that best predicted the presence of PD. The population attributable risk was estimated for each variable in the final model, as well as for all factors together. RESULTS: The 10 initial variables included >20 years occupational exposure to manganese or to copper, individually; >20 years joint occupational exposure to either lead and copper, copper and iron, or lead and iron; a positive family history of PD in first- or second-degree relatives; occupational exposure to insecticides or herbicides; occupational exposure to farming; and smoking. Logistic regression resulted in a final model that included >20 years joint occupational exposure to lead and copper (p=0.009; population attributable risk [PAR]=3.9%), occupational exposure to insecticides (p=0.002; PAR=8.1%), a positive family history of PD in first- and second-degree relatives (p=0.001; PAR=12.4%), and smoking </=30 pack-years or not smoking (p=0.005; PAR=41.4%). All four variables combined had a PAR=54.1%. CONCLUSIONS: Our final model of PD risk suggests that occupational, environmental lifestyle and, likely, genetic factors, individually and collectively, play a significant role in the etiology of the disease. Clearly, additional risk factors remain to be determined through future research.

Each year, 61,000 older adults develop drug-induced parkinsonism. At least 80 percent of them........ should never have been put on the drugs causing the parkinsonism in the first place. Drug-Induced Diseases

[Letter]  Statins And The Onset Of Neurodegenerative Diseases I know of three males (ages 50, 58 and 60) who were diagnosed with Parkinson's disease within two weeks of one another. The primary commonality was that all three had been on lipitor for several years. It could be a coincidence. Yet, in surface researching lipitor, we found that it depletes the body of coenzyme Q10....we learned that there were no drugs recommended for early onset Parkinson's, but there is a supplement — coenzyme Q10 in a megadose of 1,200 milligrams a day. It seems a study — published in Archives of Neurology in 2002 by C. W. Shults et al — has shown the efficacy of this megadose in decreasing progression of the disease in Parkinson’s patients.

"In addition, the key that made it work seemed to be the cavitation. Cavitations contain chemicals that alter acetylcholinesterase, an enzyme necessary for nerve muscle activity. Perhaps this chemical is critical in the scenario of nerve interference Parkinson's disease. There was certainly a difference in patients who had total dental revision with cavitation cleaning and those who did not have the cavitation procedures performed."--Hal Huggins http://www.hugnet.com/park.html

Around this time we also looked at Parkinson's disease which is well documented to be caused by prescribed drugs and herbicides - phenothiazine tranquillisers being the most common cause. Vancouver neuroscientist Chris Shaw shows a link between the aluminum hydroxide used in vaccines, and symptoms associated with Parkinson’s, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS, or Lou Gehrig’s disease), and Alzheimer’s.....“This is suspicious,” he told the Georgia Straight in a phone interview from his lab near Heather Street and West 12th Avenue. “Either this [link] is known by industry and it was never made public, or industry was never made to do these studies by Health Canada. I’m not sure which is scarier.”   Similar adjuvants are used in the following vaccines, according to Shaw’s paper: hepatitis A and B, and the Pentacel cocktail, which vaccinates against diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus, polio, and a type of meningitis....“No one in my lab wants to get vaccinated,” he said. “This totally creeped us out. We weren’t out there to poke holes in vaccines. But all of a sudden, oh my God—we’ve got neuron death!”--- [Media 3/2006 Aluminium adjuvant] Vaccines show sinister side

According to Dr Shyh-Ching Lo, senior researcher at The Armed Forces Institute of Pathology and one of America’s top mycoplasma researchers, this disease agent causes many illnesses including AIDS, cancer, chronic fatigue syndrome, Crohn’s colitis, Type I diabetes, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, Wegener’s disease and collagen-vascular diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and Alzheimer’s. Many researchers have also voiced concern over the potential seeding of many people with largely inactive, "slow viruses," which can remain dormant for even decades before manifesting relatively denly as such diseases like lupus, MS, Lou Gehrig's disease, Parkinson's disease, and Alzheimer's disease. Such diseases, as well as many others, have already been independently shown to often have such viruses present when those diseases finally become manifest. Re Manganese
I'M APPALLED by the unfounded assumptions of 'experts' about the hyper-infectious nature of the BSE/CJD agent (Mail). Basic evidence suggests variant CJD didn't arise from eating BSE-affected cattle. Third World countries imported even greater quantities of the incriminated British meat than we consumed here, but no cases of vCJD have occurred in those countries. I've travelled worldwide carrying out analyses of areas with prion diseases, of which vCJD is one. These diseases increase only in areas with a high manganese/low copper imbalance. Experiments at Cambridge and Case Western, Cleveland, universities confirmed my findings that misshapen prions develop whenever brain cells are exposed to this imbalance.

I found one organophosphate — poured on cows to counteract warble fly and on humans for headlice — which bonded with copper in the brain, starving the prion protein of its copper partner. When this happens, foreign metals, such as manganese, are more likely to bond with prions, which can have devastating consequences. Manganese is increasing in the environment due to its use as a fertiliser and fungicide, a lead substitute in petrol, and emission from factories. It was fed to UK cattle in calf milk replacement powder (at levels up to 1,000 times higher than in normal cow's milk) and as supplements for bone growth. Manganese is also fed to humans (in health food supplements), deer (for antler growth) and cats —and all have had prion disease. The totalitarian mindset about the origins of prion diseases betrays an agenda. It's more about global profits for the GM soya protein empires than about the illusory health risks of animal proteins to humans.
MARK PURDEY. Taunton.

"The levels of manganese are naturally low in the soils of the Quinaborough area but the point is that the surrounding farmers are spraying on a potent manganese fertiliser several times a year. There is also widespread application of sewage sludge around all the villages that have a variant CJD problem. Manganese is also at a high level in sewage and it becomes air borne during spreading operations. Villages will therefore be breathing in these various manganese substances and taking it straight into their brains via the nasal/olfactory route."--Mark Purdey

The worst of the things they're doing are the soy extracts. Soybeans, naturally, have one of the highest glutamate levels of any of the plant products. When you hydrolyze it, you release the glutamate, such as with the soy protein isolates. The glutamate levels are higher than a lot of what you'll find in other MSG-containing products, yet the vegetarians are just eating it like it's the healthiest thing in the world. There was a 25-year study done, which looked at people who consumed the most soy products, and they followed them for 25 years and did serial CT scans of their brain. They found out that the people who consumed the most soybean products had the greatest incidence of dementia and brain atrophy. These people are destroying their nervous system, and I talked to a lot of them who complained of severe migraine headaches. I said, "Get off the soy," and they do, and that migraine headache goes away. In addition, you have very high manganese levels, which is toxic to the very same part of the brain that produces Parkinson's. You've got a mixture of toxins with soy products, and the people think they are eating a healthy, nutritious product. It's destroying their nervous system, as well as other organs.....I think people ought to avoid soy products as if they were poison. [pdf] An interview with Dr. Russell Blaylock
